I'm pretty sure that if Midway had the ability to do MK vs. Marvel they would've done so already. I'm sure Marvel likes their comfortable spot with Capcom and won't do other crossovers.
I mean, otherwise, all it'll come up to is, "Marvel is the crossover whore, doing crossovers with all fighting games."
I really doubt that'll ever happen.

About Me

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Jack Burton does see your point, but it would be pretty cool if they did...

Yeah, I agree Jack. We need a true 100% MK before anymore VS titles.

100% MK = Yes. Its going to happen. Probably. And it will look nothing like Gears of War and its million shades of brown and grey beautifully rendered. Hopefully.

I think the trouble with this game is that the roster is too small. I mean the final roster is alright. But, it isn't as complete is most people want it to be.

If they keep on building the roster from this base: MK VS DCU 2 Roster is the MK Vs DCU roster plus MOAR. Then its all good. And we will have our Green Lantern Vs Sinestro and our Kitana Vs Mileena fights and we can all live in harmony. Wars will end.

But knowing Ed and looking at the MK history, they regularly remove half the roster and put in new characters who are a bit similar. I mean hell, look at the MK: DA Roster and look at the MK: D roster. There is nearly zilch roster continuity between the two games. Some how all the minor characters plus Sub Zero, Scorpy and Raiden made it in.

I can honestly imagine they would take out Superman and put in Bizarro. With no way to play as Superman. And I'm going to call it now and bookmark the thread. I have the Stephen Colbert picture all ready. Please prove me wrong Ed.

Also: Alan Moore should write the story. He would turn Raiden into a heroine addict who isn't actually a God of Lightning. And it would be awesome.

Taking out playable Superman would put a stake in the heart of that game.
You do realise that right?

Well, I've always liked MK because they aren't afraid to take a few risks, removing characters, brining in new faces, ideas etc. Unlike your street fighters, where you get the same characters all the time and they never look any different. This game is just another example of that

Yeah, but I don't think the point of this thread is that they're gonna start spitting out VS titles one after another. Just that there is a possibility of a second one, even if it is after the next all MK title.

I think an MK vs DC 2 is very likely assuming this one sells well and is generally well perceived which is looking extremely likely IMO. Beyond that though, I don't really see this being a long series of games and I'm not sure I'd really want it to anyway. A sequel with more arena's and more characters could be cool.

MK vs Marvel would be brilliant. Not sure if Marvel would do a fighting game with another studio as already stated, plus not sure if they'd really want to be second after DC.

We all know another canon MK game will happen anyway so I'm not really worryng about that. Just as long as it's good, I can wait! wink

Well, let's be honest. It's not like the past couple of Mortal Kombat games were received so well. Nevertheless, they still all made it to Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits status. So criticism aside, the sales alone are enough to bring sequels to MK.

I thought I read somewhere that only Deadly Alliance made it to Platinum status.

The last two didn't sell well enough.

Nope, both achieved Greatest Hits status. Even Shaolin Monks sold a million units. MK Deception

Armageddon

You see the trouble with that is we get to a point where there is MK: Annihilation-mageddon-ilogy. Where "Every Mortal Kombat character will fight for the right to live!" Its already happened twice now.

I'm not saying I don't want any new characters or even replacements for old characters but I don't see why they endlessly and pointlessly fiddle with the roster.

Different subject though...

I thought it is already known that MK series is the best selling fighting game untill now smile

Well they all did sell well however some fans of the other fighting games love to make some rumors .

Also I just cant belive that people continue to buy Namco’s updates crapp every 2 or 3 years because their games are the same thing in everything .

So dont be surprised to see that MK also sells well because it is the only one to give us somethings new .

You know someone could make the argument that they cant believe people buy the recent MKs that *were* crapped out every year. And that the game needs to seen as different each time because the game play hasn't been able to match it's competition for quite a while now.

I wouldnt really mind a MK vs DC 2 to be honest just as long as the one coming out now shows its great hype in the game and not just from its renders, and graphics im just talking about pure gameplay basically.smile

Well then everyone has to say what he wants .

But seriously Namco games Su*k .I mean they are just the same ,they did not change anything .Why should I buy it ?

I dont agree I love the 3D mks so much .I liked the fighting in them .And while I was a namco fan thats is no more my friend .I wont give those japanese at Namco anymore $$$ because they are just releasing the same thing to us .

I like the combos in the 3D MKs I liked the styles very very very much so that I asked my martial arts master to teach me some and guess what many of them are true but excuted to look more powerfull in the game .

So , I dont know about you guys outside but if MK DA ,D and A had to cost me 100$ each I find them deserved more than any of Namco games which are the real crapp .

Well, gameplay is a matter of opinion, I think. Or at least somehow it has become that. I mean, I see people always bitch and say, "Deception is a broken game" blah blah blah. But it's fun to play. Period. It's more fun to play than MKDA, and I prefer the fight mechanics more than Armageddon's.
