It seems that they're building Kung Lao as the new hero of the game so he'll probably be back to fight the Dragon King.
Least I hope so, IMO, he's a lot better than Liu Kang.

Actually, i think they are trying to focus the main hero story to Sub Zero. But i could be wrong. And yea, i like him better that Kang too.

I think kung is a powerfull warrior that fights for earth... and has COOL moves.
Since Liu's death, he has taken over the role of "earth's good guy"

Yeah, Kung Lao is really cool, he's my second favorite character.

I would see him to be the next hero. Sorta weird how the progression goes though.... Original Kung Lao, Lui Kang, and the New Kung Lao.

Another thing, it seems all throughout MK, Kung Lao has been masked by Lui.. like in the mk3 ending, he actually dies helping liu fight kahn... Anyway, it's either Kung or Sub as hero, enless raiden actually did take things into his own hands.

In mk3 it says the APPARENT death of Kung Lao, meaning it only looked like he died. Same as with the start of Mk2 Tsung was punished for the APPARENT death of goro, keep your eye on little things like that.

Am I the only one the DOESN'T like Kung Lao? I just don't like the hat...plus his overall look in MKDA just seemed too boring. Hopefully he'll look more interesting in MKD. And I'm pretty sure he's taking over Liu Kang's hero role.

Actually I'd like to see the original Kung Lao return somehow; but I don't think it would fit if both Kung Laos were in the same game.

He has killed in Revenge, a non-Sholin trait. He has been tainted by anger and hatred for his enemy. Where Liu Kang killed to protect earthrealm, Kung Lao killed in rage. This will slowly eat at him and his soul.

He will return, but darker as MKD is darker than MK:DA. However, whether or not he will still be with the White Lotus is not so certain. (Evil Laughter)

Very true.. He was bent on anger after he tried to take a life of peace. I don't think Kung Lao is going to take Liu Kang's place. I think Kung Lao will be the first bad ass hero of Earth. He would have no remorse on killing anyone he threats the Earthrealm and could denie his fate of following his ancestors path, because like the original Kung Lao, Liu Kang also died.. Kung Lao could relize this and walk a sepertate path and trying not to be the hero all of the time.

When I was refurring to Kung Lao's death, I was just making a reference to the idea that Kung was not as powerful as lui..

Anyway, Lui Kang was in denile too when he was picked as the one to defend earth, and really only wanted shang because he killed his brother (depending on what story you follow). But either way he will probbly be the next hero.

I think Kung Lao should return as sort of a worried type of character. I did a bio of what he could be like in a topic somewhere here.

I personally didn't like Kung Lao until Deadly Alliance, and wish he would be higher ranked on the herometer than Sub-Zero.

Kung Lao was the man in Deadly Alliance. He has always been one of my favorites, but he kicked ass in that game. He damn well better be back.

i love kung lao.. like a brother.. hes just awsome... in mk2 he had one of the best fatalitys imo... but they made him awsome in mk:da.. can't wait to see what he is in mk:d anyway.. scorpion is one of my pesonal favs as well.. what a delima..

Kung Lao has always been a better overall character then lui kang, lui kang was just a lot cheesier. If kung lao does return, which he probably will, I dont see him as being the hero. I mean, he never intended to be one to begin with, correct me if im wrong.

He has been such a badass character in past Mk games. I cant wait to see his fatality in this game. I hope its as cocky as his last one.

Liu Kang was just a cheesy Bruce Lee character.

Kung Lao is more original and is awsome in MKDA.

Both his costumes are cool.

Ha may not see himself as a hero but the strongest Earthrealm fighter is the hero. And since Liu Kang is dead kung lao has taken his spot.

But I suspoes you could also argue sub-zero is the strongest earthrealm character also, espcialy with that amulet. It's sorta odd though, the mortal characters who have no elemntal powers are always the strongest.

Still I agree it's kung lao, he fits the typical hero role, yet with more attitude than lui kang.

If/when Kung Lao returns think think he will have the role of a teacher or mentor. Bo Rai' Cho moved to Earth him to train now fighters to defend the realm. I believe the new hero will be a Shaolin warrior trained by Cho and Lao.

I dunno, seeing as this is arguably the biggest threat earth has seen, you would probbly need your wisest, and most experienced warriors in combat. Don't forget lui came into MK, when MK was actually a tournament and had rules.

That was his ancester. Lao came in MK2.
