*WARNING* IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN THE NEW TRAILERS PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS POST. I DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO BE LOOKING FOR THE STUFF THAT I DON'T LIKE WHILE THEY WATCH IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. PLEASE GO WATCH THEM WITH AN OPEN OPITION, THEN COME BACK IF YOU WANT.
Well, i'm glad that you core fans of the series are happy. While there are a few things that spark a bit of interest in me, for the most part it's the same old "problems" for me that keep me from getting excited about this game:
-PROS-
-Sindels hair finally doesn't look incredibly stupid.
-Nood Saibot seems to have a neat hood on one of his costumes.
-The breakable walls/changing areas are pretty cool for the most part.
-Nice "fall off the arena and land on a spike" fatality.
-
-CONS-
-Character design-
Everyone looks like some sort of cheesy comic book character (with some exceptions). You're either playing as some sort of futuristic Space Ninja/Samurai, or a female character that's barely wearing her spandex super-hero costume. Look at Mileena and Li Mei fighting in the first mov at 00:00:41, they're essentially the same design. And of course all the male character have to have big meaty hands and clunky armored-boots.
-Interaction-
While it's cool and all to have background interaction, i'd like it to happen realisticly. In the 1st mov at 00:00:33 Li Mei kicks Ermac against a window causing it to shatter but he doesn't seems to actually make contact with the window (he's like a foot or 2 away). For something like this where you see the character hit against an invisible wall, it just comes off as not well done (and please don't give me the "well, it's hard to program" excuse, cause it's done perfectly well in DOA).
1st mov 00:00:50 Scorpion picks up that stage weapon that is obviously a two-handed sword, but when he's not attacking with it he holds it as easily he would a knife. It seems like it would make sense not only realistically, but even gameplay-wise to give it a bit more weight as a disadvange to be carrying such a powerful weapon.
-Fatalities/Character Movement-
I was hoping they might change the cheesy flailing that the victim does right before they are killed by the grinder stage fatality...no dice.
For the most part the fatalities are still rather boring or too unrealistic for me. I'd like to see (and maybe i still will) some more character-specific kills that make sense coming from the person that's executing them. For some reason Mileena has the strength to tear off a persons leg and the quickness to jerk it off while standing? Plus, moves like that are pretty generic and could be done by anyone. Another example is samurai-type guy (Hotaru?). He uses his incredible samurai-skill to smash Ermac repeatedly on the ground until he falls apart from the shock of the impact...whoopie.
All in all it's more of the same kinda of stuff i didn't like in DA thats still doesn't do it for me in this game. Some of the issues are technical, and may be addressed in the final release, but most are just design/creative choices that keep pushing me away. Anywhoo, to the people that actualy read this whole thing, thanks for giving my opition a listen. I'm sure that those of you who are really into the way these games are going are gonna get a great game.

That detail is nice.
I still have some doubts about the game, I like how Chess and Puzzle Kombat look but about the gameplay, it's too much like MKDA, I see no difference in the speed, but I don't care! :D

Good eye on the "Choose your destiny" back ground. A couple of other things I noticed:
-Looks like Bo Rai Cho is setting Baraka on fire
-The snake stage finally makes its return in Mileena's leg rip fatality
-The guy knocking Skab off the building, DEFINATELY has a coiled cobra on his back, looks like Kel-X and Twistedspine were right (00:44)
I love how this game is turning out.

Yeah, but since when did Shao Kahn have two gi-normous leathern wings coming out of his back?
The game's shaping up to look better and better as time goes on and more is shown.
I'm happy with what I have seen so far....but I still wanna see Karasu in this! Even if he's just a cameo in Konquest and not a secret challenger...which I hope he is.
