Jax..
Jax was the character that disapointed me the most in MKDA, his arms are made dull, and where are his classic moves? the gotcha grab is gone, the cool multiple trow, and the cool 5 hits combo from MK3 was gone.. And I allways liked Jax, now he is boring! =( Even his fatality is not good.

Jax wasn't the only one hit...
Scorpion lost his signature teleport punch. Cyrax lost his net.. which is a huge disapointment.. i'd acctually be tempted to use him more had they not crippled him so badly.

I think Jax as fighter, he's improved a lot. However, I don't really like the fact that he has a machine gun as a projectile move. I would have really loved to have seen him have the old Sonic Wave attack from MK2 and not missles or machine guns or weapons of that sort. His storyline is still bland and dull. He really does need to be enhanced a lot as a character, otherwise, they should just get rid of him.

The one glaring omission with Jax as it was in MK4 is his lack of a 'Gotchya!' Grab.
That's his trademark move IMO, it's akin to removing Sub-Zero's Ice attack and Scorpion's spear. It's just not done...
I'm going to raise a huge complaint if it's not added back to his repetoire in MK6 if he should return.

By itself no.
Though if there were others showing immense displeasure with it not being included, I'm certain they might look a little closer at it.
Look at the whole No-Show of Scorpion in MK3. Due to fan outrage he was included in UMK3.
The Developers do listen to the Fans, we'd not have seen Nitara or Reptile's new appearance elsewise I figure.

99% of the fatalities suck, so it isn't just Jax that got hit.
I don't know why they made him look so crap. From the second I saw the official renders of how he was to look in MKDA I got flash backs of TJ Combo in Killer Instinct, with his square head and shiney skin. The clothes they gave him are crap, I never liked the idea of metal arms in the first place. No gotcha, no slam. And his ground pound take so long to do now it is totally useless.
And why do they think they can totally redesign someone's face with each new game? These characters are meant to be people but Johnny Cage and Jax are totally new people. Ed Boon should realise it isn't just the clothes that make a character, it is the body shape and face. Basically Ed Boon is a nonce.
