Hey at least he gave us an answer. I guess in the end weather it's what we wanted to here or not he DID still tell us WHY. Thow now these possible online bio are a must.

Vogel is tight. I remember durring a fight night chat when he stayed after, once all the other devs left. He answered questions for the rest of us who stuck around. It was tight and made me a vogel fan for life.

That's great news if they decide to post bios online.

Whoever these marketing guys are that Vogel talks about and them not wanting bios for every character need to wake up a realize that its not all about them. I mean why the heck even make a story for this game if there are no bios for each character? They should have just called the game Mortal Kombat: "I kick your ass, you kick my ass, we have no story to back up our purposes, but lets just kill each other."

OMG kabal and mavado both have hookswords!! OMFG OMFG. no two fighters in the history of the world have ever used the same weapon!!

I have always thought John Vogel was awesome.

I think the point there was that Kabal and Mavado use the SAME hookswords. Mavado took Kabal's hookswords some time after MK3, so it's weird seeing Kabal still using them. Of course, you could probably explain that away by saying that Kabal had new ones made, but eh. It's not as serious a plot hole as the whole Motaro deal. (turned into Minotaurs?!?!)

It is rather minor, but in the storyline its supposed to be the exact same hookswords, Mavado beat Kabal and took his hookswords then Kabal came back and took his hookswords back from Mavado.

Storywise, it WOULD be a problem for them both to have hookswords, as Mavado originally got his by stealing Kabal's swords after he nearly killed him, and then Kabal stole them back from Mavado after HE killed him. So, unless Mavado gained another set after his supposed death, he couldn't have them now, since his were actually Kabal's.

The Hooksword problem would be really easy to explain, unless there is only one set of Hookswords in the entire MK universe. It's a problem that could have been solved with one sentence. That kind of bummed me out that they would mess something up so simple.

great point. This game is tekken tag without the the tag feature. If they just market it as "a game to satisfy the who would beat who fantasies of the fans" then we wouldn't be complaining about it..

We'd just complain that our fave character was shafted with his/her tier placement!

They definitly fucked this one bad I'll admit I mean the endings are horrible hell if no video atleast do a damn comic strip instead of them prancing around on top of the pyramid.

I definitley want bios and maybe an expansion because I'm disappointed I payed 50 bucks for this all thats really good is the KAK, the fighting system, konquest, and motor kombats alright

Makes sense, and I figured that something like this would be the case. Another example of creativity being snuffed out in favor of the bottom line, $$$. Even though I'm disappointed with the lack of characterization, I'm still loving the game...if only because of the fact that it's all the characters (ok, minus one) in a single game...plus, Konquest is good. I hope we see those bios. But to be completely honest, the characterization in MK has always been weak. I've always felt like they've had so much to work with...the MK universe should be a lot more developed and fluid than it has been.

I think he's far from a great writer (and I honestly feel that there are people HERE who'd probably do a better job), I figure he's actually completely in the right. Higher-ups tend to make really stupid decisions all the time. If the guys who made JLU weren't allowed to use Batman characters (other than Batman) because of a movie and another cartoon, then I can totally accept that for whatever stupid reason, Vogel and the writers were told to drop the bios from the game.

Like he said, they may put them up on the website and if THAT'S the case, that could be the reason (the higher-ups don't see the bios as necessary so they have them dropped from the game itself and put them up on the website instead, hoping to score some extra hits).

I think this is fake. I don't believe that is an email from John Vogel. And I believe the thread creator should have his dragon points taken away. Sorry, but it is just awfully hard to believe this isn't fake cuz it has been stated that character specific video's are unlockable, and there is that Ermac Bio Koncept Video in the Krypt, so I'm sure there are fmv bio's in the game. Either this guy is bullshiting, or his "friend" is.
