Nintendo is comprised of three Japanese words. Nin, Ten, Dou, and when combined it means we kicked the holy shit outta Atari.

Lex Luthor should NOT be in this game, at least not as a playable character.
He can't fight!
Lex has a suit of armor that allows him to fight Superman.
Prototypical Superhero - Booster Gold (he's as prototypical as they come)
Speedster - Speedy (c'mon, the name!)
Mystical Superhero - Red Tornado (The elemental of Wind)
Amazon Queen - Big Barda (hell yeah!)
Sexy Villainness - Giganta (ooga-ooga!)
Archvillain - Stan Lee (well, from DC's perspective)
Epic Villain - Mr. Mxyzptlk (I just want to hear the deep-voiced ring announcer TRY to say his name)
Crazy Villain – Lobo (perhaps too crazy to be crazy)
Masked Vigilante - Robin (admit it, you want to beat him up)
Military Superhero - Steel (as portrayed by Shaq)
Ninja Villain – Lady Shiva (oh yeah, that's so obvious)
I doubt it. Who'd fill the "speedster" slot then? Impulse? Jesse Quick? Kind of redundant with The Flash already there.
I'm not even sure where the Speedster clue came from. Here's a clipping of the original article:
If you're a PlayStation The Official Magazine subscriber, you already know that Flash will be joining the Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe roster, along with an impressively chesty Sonya Blade. If not, well, there you go. The speedy champion of Central City is going to rep the DC side in Midway's upcoming brawler, bringing the confirmed list of DC heroes to three. How many others from the DC stable will appear?
We only know the rest of the line-up through vague descriptions from a separate source, such as Prototypical Super Hero, Mystical Super Hero, Amazon Queen, Sexy Villainness, Crazy Villain, and Military Superhero. Many of those aren't hard to figure out, but series creator Ed Boon says the full line-up has yet to be correctly guessed by fans.
I don't see Speedster anywhere in there. Plus they they acknowledge the other two confirmed DC heroes in the second-to-last sentence of the first paragraph. So when they say that they only know "the rest" of the DC roster, it should be excluding Superman, Batman, and Flash.
Prototypical Super Hero = Supes
Speedster = Flash
Mystical Super Hero = Captain Marvel is the only one I can think of (hopefully with a Black Adam costume). Can't be Zatanna, she's a heroine. could be Zaterra, but I doubt it. Martian Manhunter isn't magical, his powers are natural. Can't be any Green Lantern other than Alan Scott since their powers are scientific, not magical.
Amazon Queen = Diana "Wonder Woman" Prince.
Sexy Villainness = Selina "Catwoman" Kyle, I hope not though, to much Batman representation already if that really is Joker down there.
Archvillain = Luthor, damn.
Epic Villain = Darkseid, has to be.
Crazy Villain = Joker, probably.
Masked Vigilante = Bats
Military Superhero = Hal Jordan
Ninja Villain = Most likely Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson
However, if Dr Turn of the Century is right, my guess for the others would be:
Prototypical Super Hero = Anthro the First Boy?
Masked Vigilante = Green Arrow?

And I'm a bit concerned over all the love for Catwoman and Poison Ivy. One or the other, I guess. But I figure it seems like every time people come up with a list of 10 or so characters to put in half the cast ends up being filled by Batman rogues. Superman and The Flash have great rogue galleries too. No love for Brainiac or Gorilla Grodd? Not to mention, guys like Sinestro or Black Adam would make more sense than Poison Ivy. Besides, Catwoman isn't exactly a villainess. She's a crook but not a villain. So I doubt that clue really hints at her.
To be fair, the only people who actually want Poison Ivy are the uninformed, and fan-fic writers with potpourri backgrounds on their livejournal accounts.
Zatanna might be the "mystic."
I guess what's potentially working against some of the villains, especially lower down the list (like Black Adam), is recognition and importance to the story. The two probably bleed together, because, obviously a Black Adam has an interest in THE SURVIVAL OF HIS UNIVERSE!!!
Yeah...

Seriously. I can't imagine anyone saying "prototypical superhero" and not thinking Superman.
If we're talking characters yet to come, the most obvious choice is surely the Swiss army trump, Martian Manhunter.

Well the hint says "Sexy Villainess." Since they're aiming for iconic value, I'm not sure what others could qualify off the top of my head. If I had the choice, I'd pick Circe...but she isn't that well known.
As for the other guys you mentioned....Black Adam would be awesome. I wouldn't mind Brainiac and my only concern about Sinestro is that his gameplay might be redundant with a Green Lantern in the game. As for Grodd...I could do without big evil genius gorillas in the game.

Agree. If it's not Superman...then who the hell could it be?
The other categories are in the comments below the article, posted by Michael McWhertor, the senior editor at Kotaku. He also says that they may refer to ones already in, which is why Superman is said for Prototypical hero.
I hope the clues are true, because that means I get Deathstroke in game.
So it is.

Does anyone else feel weird that we got an explosion of info today?
Weird, huh.
July 3, and then E3, anddddd Then Comic Con...The entire game will be revealed by August.

Which allegedly will unveil move characters.
But I bet you all that it will be Sonya and Flash.
They will just be later than usual!

Neither is Superman. Or the Flash.
Actually (initiate obscure comic knowledge) Superman DID master some kind of Kryptonian Martial Art way back when.
Also, I just thought of something. What if by Sexy Villainess they mean Black Canary? After all, the original Black Canary's first appearance was as a Villainess. It'd be a pretty cool way to give a hint while keeping us off balance.
Flash...idk what he does. He runs..so maybe he'll run away?

Herro.
All Lex has are krypton rays that he shoots that only effect Superman.
And besides...
How would this fit in the game?

Herro.
There is no way he could have the capacity to fight martial arts experts like Scorpion, or Sonya Blade.
The suit was designed to only destroy Superman with krptonite.
