I am a hopeless romantic too (pretty girl). I was happy to find these "Love intrests" messages. Something I can actually respond to the easiest. Of all the video games out there, ultimately Mortal Kombat has the best characters ever worth remembering, and playing matchmaker for them is so much fun. I think they should explore this a bit more in the games. It could lead to a whole different story for both characters.
