You said it yourself, it’s the "matter of execution".
It is possible to do new styles of "blasts" and "projectiles" that dont look like they've been done before. Use your imagination man!
Also, we are not saying they have to be SUPER DUPER MEGA NEW NEW NEW....we are saying dont recycle moves in this game, for neither the DC or MK cast. Dont make them look so fuc**ng similar. That Kabal trademark move Flash did, could had been done in a new different way.
Just picture Flash doing the same speed attack, but instead of making the opponent spin like mad like Kabal did, make Flash deliver a very strong blow when he makes contact with the opponent (while doing the speed attack) that sends the opponent high into the air across the screen, spinning wildly.
That would had been much better and original then to see Kabals trademark "stolen" in the "exact same way".
How many fucking moves can you come up with based on that? A big fireball and a slightly less big,differently colored fireball? Christ,man.
An example of how original moves can be made in projectiles is that of Sonyas ring toss. Thats a very different cool style of projectile...but its still a projectile.
If you find it that hard to create new styles of projectiles, man.....

I can guarantee you that nobody ever gave a fuck about Scorpion's leg takedown. Ever. It was the most useless move in MK2.

Actually, that move was requested by plenty before MKA. And yeah, we can roll our eyes because if they are copy/pasting such a "useless move that nobody ever gave a fuc* about"...that pretty much says a lot about the quality of their game.

Dude, just because *you* cant seem to like to use your creativity and imagination, doesnt mean the rest of the world is the same. This game needs to be thought about A LOT if its going to be good. Evr since like, Mortal Kombat Gold, things have gone downhill. This game needs a new employee to go kick some ass in that studio. Its stupid that Mortal Kombat is fighting DC because they are nothing alike. They SHOULD have made Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter. THAT would be awesome because they are 2 fighting games that are SIMILAR. 
How could anyone like this game? 
It needs to be thought through for a while to be possible. if you go to youtube, newgrounds, whatever; people are making fun of ed boon cause of the dumb idea. If Midway takes its time, it might redeem itself. :)
NOTE: Ed Boon, change the fact that superheros don't do fatalities. There's going to blood and stuff and personally, I would LOVE to be Superman and rip someones head off. It would be fun. People like how brutal the game is. It should be rated 'M'.

eww mk vs street fighter? YUCK! I have a feeling that if that was to happen then the mk team would do what ever capcom saids and we would have no blood no 3d, no anything, it would be GAY, I rather have MKVSDC.

I've been wanting to get to know a little bit about Superheroes and wanting a brutal fighting game to put Superheroes in so I guess MKVSDC came at a good time. But please Ed, no MKVSSF, sorry ppl, I'm from the ninties too but I don't wanna ever see that
The only way I MIGHT be able to stomach it is if its in 3D, has blood and fatalities and the good SF characters (Bison, Chun-Li) but thats it. And capcom does what ever midway tells them

Given that there have already been attacks where characters charge forward rapidly with a punch that knocks the opponent back, the differences in execution in your suggestion still wouldn't stop fans from bitching that the Flash stole the move.

this problem wouldn't exists if MK8 was a totally new beginnig,with totally different characters,fatalities and special moves.
Instead Midway preferred to make a shitty game with DC characters and OLD(iconic?Kabal?
i think a MK fanboy is not that hard to please,we neeed a game with 3-4 years of development,with a IMPRESSIVE graphic engine(the mk vs DCU's one is good,but not impressive),with a larger stuff(seriously all ED BOon 's team is about 25-30 people) when games such like soul calibur and tekken have a staff of 100-150 people(changing troughout the years,so for istance,don't use always the SAME artistic designer,concept designer,the same sound editor,but give to them different roles or the production of different games in Midway,and if they can't at least give them other partners to work with).
Kabal it's not iconic,but he will make the cut 'cause he shares the same powers of Flash....having the same powers doesn't means that they MUST have the same special.
Ermac and Kenshi have the same powers,and some moves are similar,but they don't share the same moves.
So i don't see why Flash should use the super-run move.
They can give to Flash a super fast punch combo....
