I was thinking the same thing. The game definetly needs some more texture work by the looks of it. The only redeeming thing is that even with past MK games (especially Deception) the screenshots we got also looked blah and bland, but the final game was gorgeous. Here's hoping the trend continues.
I thought I heard somewhere the MK Vs. DCU will run on Unreal Engine 3. Any truth to that?

Thanks for the info. I doubt the graphics will improve either, but UE3 is a very powerful engine capable of producing beautiful graphics. Let's hope Hector and company put that power to good use.

True and both cover arts for both look awesome but of course I ordered the collectors edition like 3 weeks back so I love that and by the way Scorpions new face has always reminded me of those face-sucker things from the movie "Alien" anybody else think that.

I really like it and I simply LOVE the characters expressions and poses. My favorite is also Batman, he looks superb (look at that mouth!)!

But hey, Scorpion and Rayden look just as menacing, and Wonderwoman looks like a real female/woman!, unlike her ugly tranny render pic. She looks soooo pretty in this pic!

New Cover Thread!

That cover IS amazing. I don’t care what it is for, comic book or box art for the kollectors game: It simply rocks!

You know, I’m very pleased with all the promotion and attention they gave her character ever since she was announced. We were bombarded with pics, videos, and info on her all the time. She was mentioned multiple times on the MKasts and interviews, I thought it was great! Scorpion, Sonya and Sub-Zero were really well used to advertise the game.

I’m also kind of sure that if Mileena had made the cut, they would had exploited her image as well, obviously not as much as Sonya, but I’m sure we would had seen a lot more of her then the little bits we’ve gotten of Kitana. After all the promotion she got in MKD, and with her shinny moments in MKA, I think she would had been used decently to promote the game.

Liu Kang and Kano look very cool as well. I cant wait to see this in a higher res, its going to rock!

I think it looks fine. Funny that now its Scorpion vs Batman... Ed figured he didn't wanna make Sub look too kool so you see how he fixed that...

WOW, the regular cover looks awesome. Certainly the best MK cover ever........EXCEPT for that Alex Ross painted Kollector's Edition. Damn!! That's the first time I've seen that, and as soon as I saw it, I drove to Gamestop, cancelled my regular edition pre-order and changed it to the Kollector"s Edition. And now I'm posting this. Amazing stuff. I'm a HUGE comic book fan. Mainly a Marvel fanboy, but I pretty much buy anything Alex Ross is the artist on. Anything he touches is gold. I wish Darkhorse could get him to do one of the Star Wars comics. Preferably Legacy. But to see Alex Ross painting the Mortal Kombat Kast......well......that's just something that can not be passed up for someone like me. A comic book fan since childhood, and a Mortal Kombat fan since MK1 hit arcades. It's almost a dream come true. It's too bad technology isn't far enough advanced to have this whole game, acctually in-game, be 3-d rendered and animated Alex Ross art.
