I haven't lost anything but thanks for the once again false assumption, just making a general OBVIOUS point with certain fans on here....but by all means live in denial lol. For someone claiming you don't hate the render you've sure posted things saying otherwise. Wow you really do know all about MK.. Nice info, I didn't know that about Subzero. So is this telling us that Subzero will be a low tier character. I was wondering where his Medallion went.

The costume looks like the old one from MK4.

Thanks lol, yeah. For what we know so far, it's a very good assumption to make because you remember Quest in MKDA and MKD/MKA he looked older without the mask or under the mask, hair white etc was because the Medallion gave him more power, but at the same time aged him faster(so he looks older)

In this render he looks MK4-ish in terms of age again(before he got the Medallion in MK:DA-MKA)




As far as tier, lol it's way too early dude. Once the games out or perhaps the demo at E3(although even that's subject to change) we won't really know. Check will know I'm sure as soon as he gets his hands on it. Sub is always pretty good usually though for the most part. If he loses his clone, he'll lose a lot of game.

I don't mean to rag on anybody specifically, but this needs to be addressed.

Saying that Subzero looks younger again because he's missing the medallion makes almost no sense. I only say 'almost' because Vogel/Boon never really clarified the nature of the medallion beyond vague chat statements. The very notion of aging means for one's body to continually change over time through physical processes. Removing a catalyst of aging from subzero would not reverse the aging any more than removing a flame from my fingers would reverse the burns. If Vogel said the medallion would give Subzero the guise of an aged man, that would be different. The agent of the guise is removed, so is the guise. But if you remove the agent of, say, the flames of a house fire, the house doesn't magically just restore the burnt damage.

I don't think anyone really disagrees with this.

@Temp, it was confirmed in MKDA or MKD along the line. Can't remember if it's Konquest or within his ending or Frost's but when she had it, it consumed her because her arrogance and misguided deeds, greed was a mistake. Only someone with experience and lots of discipline like Sub-Zero could handle the Medallion's effects. It ages him, increases his power but also ages him. If you look at his look in MK:DA, MKD and MKA. He's obviously older...a lot with white hair so it's pretty much a nobrainer. Now in MK8, so far from what we've seen he doesn't have it(for whatever reason) and looks much younger again.

How else would you explain it?

Now onto the very irrelevant Rain thing: I like him because he has a cool lightning attack in MKT (like Raiden, my other fav character). And purple is, in fact, one of my favourite colours. So... what point were you even trying to make here? If it was that I’m a fanboy you’ve accomplished nothing at all.

I just noticed his mask is the same as MKDA, thats fuckin lazy. The mask in the trailer is way cooler IMO now. Why the hell would they revamp Scorpion's and just use the same for Sub? They are getting lazy and unoriginal.

I wonder why they switched masks...maybe they'll change it back or have something like Tekken 5's customization.

I don't know if I'd call that laziness as much as a rare glimpse of consistency and logic in the design of a character. Exceptions like the armor have some motivation, but there really seems to be very little reason (or logic) for these characters to constantly change their outfits.

It's high time we got individual appearances for each character and learned to live with it. Maybe if we finally got a definitive look for each character there'd be less smoke and mirrors distracting the unwashed masses from bigger problems.
