The cube will be getting more characters for sure, midway has to make people want to get the game, and seriously who is going to by a game that has just a few more stages or 2 on 2 kombat? Noone, it will have new characters.

And it really is midway's fault for not putting online capabilities for the gamecube, because the gamecube does have online capabilities, their just not as big on it like the ps2 or xbox.

Cmeth, nintendo didn't prevent midway from adding an online function on the gamecube version. It was midway's dicision. How could that be Nintendo's fault? Just because Nintendo doesn't make online games, doesn't mean the blame is on Nintendo. Nintendo provides the hardwares for online possibilities, and it is up to third party companies to make use of that function.

Actually, yes. Gamecube owners didn't purchase MKDA and it sold in a very low amount while the Xbox and PS2 versions extremely good. It doesn't have that much to do with online. I mean, Midway is putting all their games on Xbox and PS2 while most of the games don't even have online play. Midway wasn't the only 3rd party company dropping support for the Gamecube. There's been a TON. Gamecube owners buy Nintendo games. Hardly anything else (keep in mind I'm speaking purely facts here based on sales data. just so nobody comes in and says "omg ur so wrong i buy 3rd party games all the time!").

menthol you still are kinda wrong. MKDA did sell worse on Cube, but the sales for that system were by no means low. The game sold very well on the system. There is a smaller user base for the Gamecube so it makes sense that it sold less.

Most games that come out for all three systems sell least on GCN because there are less consumers. The exceptions maybe being Phantasy Star and Soul Calibur 2. Where, I may point out Link was the reason for that (so to whoever said the Nintendo Characters are lame, is obviously in the minority, But your opinion is great!)

i hate nintendo now. after buying the n64 i was hoping nintendo would shape up. but no, they say online is "a fad". thats why i have a ps2 and xbox, they know that times change and we want more out of an entertainment system. now nintendo is not even selling. they should have gone with the crowd instead of thinking that their fanchises could save the system. nintendo does make great games, but not enough for a system. they should take a hint from sega. they are also money whores now. $20 for 1 old nintendo game for gameboy advanced, ha. they could have put all those games in a collection, then maybe i would have bought it. but for 25 cents i can buy those games for nintendo. but back on topic. i dont think they should get a character or a new stage because i dont think midway should work more just because nintendo wont get off there ass and make an online plan.

Ok, here it comes....

::Rant alert::

I'm sick of people belly-aching about the POSSIBILITY of gamecube owners possibly getting something better than a PS2 owner, or an X-box owner...

This is not an attack on any console...but let's give it a rest, if the Gamecube gets a few extra characters....then tough shit.

You know when MK: D is coming out for the gamecube???? First quarter of 05.

So let's just say...February...do you know how far away that is in gaming months? EVERY single secret, in Mortal Kombat: Deception, will have been revealed by then, every single unlockable, every single ending.

Now you tell me...are you going to trade your X-box version in, and wait?

No, you want the characters now, and no wait...well it doesn't work that way, I don't know why people get upset, at the POTENTIAL idea, that their paticular version might have less characters.

This has happened before, it will happen again.

UMK3, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Mortal Kombat 4, Mortal Kombat Gold, Mortal Kombat TE for the gameboy advanced....

and btw, this isn't singling out DK...but DK, why should gamecube owners suffer because it's nintendos fault? or midways fault? I am not saying that YOU said it was a gamecube owners fault....but again, why should THEY suffer?

Besides...let's all recognize this for what it is...Midway and Nintendo finally got together...and they both realized they could profit from this...especially after the wait...because you'll have the faithful MK fan, who doesn't have X-box or PS2 (Although, they're probably in the minority...I'm sure there are SOME Mk fans buying a ps2 to play this game, or an x-box), who owns a gamecube, who will DEFINITELY buy this game...but now...that's where Midway and Nintendo want to stop it right? No no....they add incentive to everyone else, who owns a PS2/X-box, AND a Gamecube...who already own MK: D for the PS2 or X-box....Now, for people like me and you, they want us to buy the same game, for a new system, only because of a few characters.

The point is...99% of the people on this board, wouldn't trade getting MK a month from now, already stacked with a HUGE lineup of characters to choose from, for getting MK, 6 or 7 months from now, just on the off chance that they get an extra character.

I know I wouldn't...the bulk of the game would be exploited by the time I get that game with an extra character or two.

I just felt this needed to be repeated.

Alot of cube haters here lol, I have a PS2 and a cube and i will be getting both versions(unless the extras are test your sight and might, then im gonna bang my head against the wall for an hour.)
The extra features very well could be extra characters regardless of what some of you may think its a possibility, look at MK Gold, dreamcast only, and they got more characters so thats a possibility, im in no way a gc fanboy but take the hate somewhere else man this is about love of MK not hate of gc.

I agree with you completely. We also shouldn't mistake this thread for a console war.

It's more about people bellyaching over GC owners getting something that PS2 owners or X-box owners won't have.

PS2 and X-Box owners get the BIGGEST feature though...that blows the GC features out of the water...the release date.

Gaming months are like dog years.

Games are hot and cold within the blink of an eye.

Mortal Kombat will be on the backburner, when the GC version is released...every X-box, and PS2 owner, will have mastered that game two times over by the time the GC version comes out. I just don't understand how some people can get angry that GC owners will actually get a few new features thrown their way...they have to wait 6 or 7 months...half a friggen year, before they get to play the game! Mortal Kombat 7 could be halfway done by the time the GC port of MK: D is out...lol.

The point is people...just let the GC owners have their day...PS2/Xbox owners would freak out if they were on the other side...having to wait 6 months AFTER the gamecube got Mortal Kombat.

Can't hate the GC owners, hate midway and Nintendo....they're trying to milk the situation for as much money as possible, and can we blame them? That's what these companies have to do, they're trying to maximize profits.

GAMECUBE is not getting new characters, the most they'll get is some new backgrounds or more stuff in the krypt. They would never give one console out of three more characters than the other

Why wouldn't they? X-box does that sort of thing all the time.

Plus do you know how much HATE mail they will be getting from the majority of their PS2 and XBOX fans, they don't wanna deal with that.

And how much do you think Midway cares as long as they make more money? Any X-Box or PS2 owner who sends hate mail to Midway for this is pathetic.

haha, man, you can understand how I felt, I bought a PS2 just for this game! I only had a cube and when I heard it wasnt comming out for the cube I bought a PS2 right away. Oh well, its still worth it cuz now I dont have to wait till january or feb, but if the cube version is worth the purchase I'll do a little trade in.

You Shang, are one of the smarter people here. If only more were like you. There are a couple others here who have some common sense too.

Of all the Fanboys, Ps2 and Xbox have the worst.

I mean, please, Ps2 and Xbox get the game 4-5 months before GC and you want them to have "nothing much". GC owners don't come say bad stuff about Ps2 and Xbox owners because it comes out first for them. Heck, until recently they didn't even know they were getting the game.

As far as Online, GC does have it, but companies are too scared to use the hardware. Midway on the other hand, at least did something in return for the GC owners who are missing out on this feature. I commend them for this.

Ps2 and Xbox owners, you get:

-And earlier release date
-Better controllers for fighting games(to most people)
-Online

And you get mad when GC might get 3 characters that you wanted? That is a disgrace to gamers everywhere. Stop being so selfish.

I'm going to get mines on X-box but IF MK:D for Gamecube has extra characters and more Stages, I probably wait till it comes out for 20 Bucks!!

I don't care for online at ALL but MK:D it like a month away so there's no way i going to wait 4-5 months for the gamecube verison!!!

I really wish Midway had put extra stuff in rhe X-box and PS2 MK:D than online but who cares.... MK:D is going to be good NO Matter on what system it's on !!!

P.S The chance are that MK:D on GC will PROBABLY have extra characters!!(ex MK:Gold, UMK3, etc.)

Amen to that.. I agree with you guys.. I personally don't give a damn what "new features" the GC owners get.. I'm juss happy that they can have the ability to enjoy the game juss as we PS2, and Xbox owners will. We are all MK lovers.. and we all deserve to have MK on our respective systems.. It doesn't matter which version has this and which version has that.. in the end it's still the great Mortal Kombat we've all come to enjoy, that's how I see it neway..

Yes, it's not good to be selfish..

"OMG! WE GET ONLINE PLAY AND THE GAME FIRST WHILE GAMECUBE OWNERS GET THE GAME MONTHS LATER WITH EXTRAS AND NO ONLINE PLAY! UNFAIR!!!"

One of the main things that MK:Deception is pulling is online play, so PS2 and Xbox owners are getting a more complete game than Gamecube owners. If they're taking a major part out of the game, they should add something to make up for it. Are you really gonna be playing as every character in the game anyway?

I'd be getting this game for Gamecube, but I want to play online so I'll be getting this on PS2. So...yup.

its not becuase nintendo are lazy and cant be bothered to make online games . its becuase nintendo dont want to be an online games company .. they dont want their system turned into a pc that tv compatible . and for that im proud of them .. following the crowd is a lode of bullshit and shows that you cant get anywhere on your own or that you dont have what it takes to be original and do stuff your own way . if i wanted online games i would turn to my computer for that .. but although online playability is a nice touch it dosnt make a game !

well your kinda late arnt ya .. nintendo have always had online capabilitys they have a broadband adapter for fuck sake ! but like i said they dont want to be the majority and follow a little group of "cool kids" becuase they had an idea and went and turned it into a huge great business! ..

you want some games that are intenet compataible ..

phantasy star online
phantasy star online 2
phantsy star online card edition
mario kart
bualdurs gate

ok so most of that is phantasy star right but
then they put it into mario kart and a bunch of stuff outside that list .. but nintendo plan to go on makeing games that are based around a plot and a story and dont need someone to go and introduce several thousand characters into a game to make it look good
Glad to see I'm not alone here...I just think the best thing for all of us, is for October 4th to get here already, lol.

oh and 6-7 months .. PEOPLE ARE YOU INSANE .. DO YOU HAVE NO CONCEPT OF TIME !!
its already the ninth month or like a day from it .. and mortal kombat has some very good desighners and animators etc .. so even if they did do extra characters it still wouldnt take that long ! i think it will come out maybee a couple weeks after christmass or new year .. nothing very long actually .. three months goes extremely quickly .
