I voted for Deception even though I didn't like it as near much as MK: DA. -_-

I had a very hard time deciding on whom I wanted to win the awards in the other categories. I casted my vote for Mortal Kombat Deception and I hope on December 14th, Snoop Dogg announces this game the winner of the "Best Fighting Game Of The Year".

Wow were fighting games really that bad this year?

I'd vote Deception in a heart beat above all those. Lucky it came out this year and not last or next year.

I hate how SpikeTV pretends like it actually knows/cares about video games. Sure, they might have a video game awards show, but it's all because of the celebrities and band performances, etc. and please correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they name a Madden game as GOTY?

Out of those fighting games I'd say Deception has the least chance of winning. Def Jam is involved with rap, so it's a big contender right there. Wrestling is also popular among that crowd. And DOA is filled with nearly naked women. These are the sorts of things that they take into consideration.

Deception and Halo 2 will own the awards!!!

Well seeing as how Deception has only one nomination that's highly unlikely. But Halo and GTA will for sure. I voted for Halo in the Best Game of the Year award. I love them both but I had to give it to the greatest game on earth.

Definately voted for Dead or Alive.

I've already voted in every other catagory, except fighting.

I'm not sure if I'll vote for Dead or Alive: Ultimate or Mortal Kombat: Deception...

Yeah, your right REPTILEWINS. GTA and Halo will probably own the show...I mean they have so many damn nominations...it is most likely they will win like half of the awards on there. And, like Lord Of The Rings, had so man nominations during the Academy Awards and they won them so yeah. I already knew who will win the awards IMO.

Hmm they'll likely just give it to Def Jam if Snoop is presenting it. Sorry to say but MKD fighting engine is just crap compared to DOAU. I hate the dumbing it down angle Boon & Co use for the excuse for their engine so "normal" people can pick it right up. It is possible to create an in depth fighter while making it possible to pickup. Ohh Team Ninja, if you only added fatalities I would be in heaven.

Of course GTA and Halo will receive most of the awards. They've been released just recently so their hype is still booming, meaning that they will win no matter what regardless of their actual quality.

Those of you saying you are voting for DOA: U because Deception's fighting system is crap, I hate to tell you DOA's system isn't anything extremely deep either. It's pretty much just about the counters.

Do the math, folks ... SpikeTV is owned by Viacom. Viacom's CEO is Sumner Redstone. Now, guess who owns 70% of Midway stock, making him the majority shareholder with the largest stroke/influence on the company? Why, it's none other than Sumner Redstone. So, does anyone else find it awfully telling that a fighting game that's only been out for a month-and-a-half ends up walking away with a nomination from a cable network owned by the same dude that also owns 70% of Midway?!?!

As much as MK Deception is marginally entertaining, I gotta give Def Jam: Fight For NY the nod simply because it's much more mature, has been on the shelves longer, and is a less broken fighting game. I don't care for rap or hip=hop music but I rented this game on a whim and, after getting past the rather steep learning curve and overall difficulty, it was a much more satisfying and solid game overall.

Off Course MKDeception but where is tekken and Kof Maximum Impact

DOAU is boring. All it has is tits, counters, lame characters, and more tits.

Im givin it to mkd... The fighting system is broken, i have to agree, but i think not many can disagree that on a casual basis its pretty fun. More so than def jam i dare say. That game is more bout mashing and supers than anythin else. Some characters' stats are insane. DOA does not have much to offer anyway. I do agree that the only thing it has is counters, which are not always a good thing...
