why can't you get it sunday
The body and colors of MK:D Robot Smoke and a mask that is hard to describe. Perhaps Snake Eyes wasn't the correct cross. it was just the first character that came to mind. From memory, they only briefly show his front, I looked sort of like Robot Smoke's helmet. It had a red circle, possibly an eye.

I wonder if you mean a poorly lit (or redesigned) Deadshot...

A DC hero who looks like an indigo and black cyborg with a big red circle or eye on his face.
Speaking as a man who's been reading DC comics for years...I have no f*cking clue who that could be.
Deadshot? The color scheme is all wrong but...shit, maybe. I was also thinking it could be the Teen Titan Cyborg if they covered up like so much of his skin that you couldn't tell he's a black dude.

Again, I'm basing this off of memory. The head looked like some sort of helmet or it could've been a robot. If I remember correctly (I was falling asleep while playing), he was with Captian Marvel. Or maybe it was Green Lantern.... and I want to see they were on a Space Station.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I do know it is when you play as Jax. Jax shoots the mystery Smoke look-a-like and he slides across the floor stopping in a corner

Hmm...maybe it's an OMAC. Did it have a big mohawk?
Yeah, that looks really close to what I saw. I just looked up the wikipedia page for an "OMAC" and the picture does resemble the cyborg walking with the playable character. As for the mohawk, I don't remember. Again, I was half asleep while playing. I'll play it again tonight and report back.

Wow...! I'm going to have my doubts, mostly because it makes me feel better. Cyborg sounds good. We'll go with Cyborg. (I wish it was Steel)

What is the AI like? There is a history of horrible AI, and I am curious about any improvements.
Feels like the old MK3 arcade game. Lets you kick the crap out of them and then all of the sudden, they beat you like a redneck on his wife. And after a few continues, the AI dumbs itself back down. Then again, it depends on how good you with that particular character.

So, the AI's still shitty.

I think the difference in reviews is due to personal preference as to what a fighting game should be. Some people prefer Tekken like games, some like Street Fighter style games and some enjoy Mortal Kombat. Each play differently and you don't have to be a fanboy to enjoy one or the other.
Graphics - 8/10
Sound - 6/10
Gameplay - 8/10
Lasting Appeal - 2/10
Personal rating - 7/10 overall.
Unless you play human opponents (online or offline) it does get boring. Graphics are souped up versions of the MK:D models. Textures have little detail. Models however have a fair amount of details. Sound effects are weak. And very unimpressive. Voice acting is all over the place. Joker's is the best and does offer comic relief. Captian Marvel's voice acting is not even remotely good. Neither is Green Lantern's. Although these voices are better than Ed Boon just reading lines. They actually TRY to act. The fact there are no unlockables is a big let down for me personally. Like WarriorPrincess, I wanted to unlock useful stuff so I can then go back to Arcade Mode and use it. But not this time. There's always the real Mortal Kombat 8 for that I suppose.

Thnx for the review. This one sounds atleast like a objective review.
I'm suprised that sound effect are weak tough, from what Ive heard sofar in the vids..it wasn't really that bad. But perhaps when playing the overall sound effects lacks.
Damn, lucky S.O.B.
I know a couple of folks who also just got it, due to pre-ordering. The game was recently shipped to Chicago, but I forgot which day. Anyhoo, they got it, and I can't play it because I gotta move out of state! Damnit! I gotta wait even longer now!
