MK vs. DC Supporter

How many other fighting games have had corssovers? Heaps.
This is not an unnatural occurence. And usually when two series cross in a fighting game the results end up being good ala X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Also, I find it very ironic that people who are pissed with this game say that they won't buy it but WILL buy Soul Caliber 4; even though the Soul Caliber series has crossed with Spawn, Zelda, Tekken and now Star Wars.

Come on m2Dave, you know me better than that. In reality Dave, I'm not trying to save shit LOL! The only thing I'm trying to do is to let people know that the idea of this game is cool in my opinion, not to mention that their perceptions of DC comic characters has been way off.
I could care less if the game has the DC guys in it or not, but it does add a instant cool factor to something that in my opionion, seemed to be getting stale.
Lastly, you and I both know that if MIdway went bankrupt, no company worth it's weight in piss would pick it up. Do you honestly think that a worthy Japanese comapny like Namco or Sega would pick up the MK license? Japanese culture can't stand American products with the exception of Hip Hop. If Midway does go belly up, you better pray that Activision or some other lame studio doesen't buy the license, you will then see how bad this game could truely be lol!
If MK dies, it dies, that's the way I feel, I'll just move on like I always do when shit I use for entertainment fades out.
Trying to save MK you say? Hahahahahahahahahahhhaha! I thought that was a funny ass comment! It made my morning.

Take care m2Dave

I see your point.
Honestly, I couldn't careless about the Detective Comic characters. While I admit that these characters may not fit the Mortal Kombat characters particularly well it should still be interesting to see the moves they get. Besides that, I don't see what the community is whining about. I mean, we've had one of the most atrocious fighting games ever created engine-wise and people dare to cry about Batman now days. Unbelievable.
If you ask me, this will be more of the same as usual from Boon and company. We'll have 50+ infinite combos again (discovered by Check again) because of their inability (or laziness) to test. That is what the series has come down to.

I think most of the negativity from fans is coming from broken promises. Ed stated that we would be expecting a major change in the series as in, no more Bo Rai Cho farting / puking nonsense, no more cheesy characters like those jokes Darrius, Kira, and Kobra. MK was going for a darker grittier look, a more serious Mortal Kombat. MKDC does look darker and grittier. It's just the amount of shock right when the crossover rumors came true, a volcano had errupted. That being the angry fans such as myself.
I'm a straight up hardcore fan of MK, no other franchise is better IMO. I've also loved Batman as a kid growing up, but I'd never expect this to happen. Especially since this is their first game on the next gen. This really is all crazy, but I have to say that the trailer convinced me otherwise. Gameplay is without a doubt the most important element, and so far I love what I see. I am kinda neutral with this, but more on the positive side.
The fighting is fast paced, I don't know what some of you guys are calling it stiff or whatever just finding other excuses to bash this game. It looks brutal and fun, the action sequence reminds me directly to that of MK Shaolin Monk's intro fight scene with the MK1 kombatants. Loved it.
Graphics wise, I expected more. The background which looks like the wastelands is in excellent detail, plus the multi-tier graveyard looks sick. The character models look a lot smoother than they did in MKA, but it's definitely not on par with Gears. Still, it's too early and I'm sure this will be improved upon release. Subzero has a new design based on his old ninja design with a revamp, I love it. Batman looks pretty good too, though I prefer his movie black leather costumes than the gray comic one. Animation looks very good IMO. The style of action is just the way I like it.
The most important of all, regardless of wether it's going to be rated Teen, at least it will have blood (not by the gallons, thank God already I've been asking for this for a while), and THERE WILL BE FINISHERS! no dismemberments, but yes with bone snapping, flame breathing, freeze shattering, Superman eye laser thingy. You get the idea.
In conclusion, well what else can I say, as an MK fan and somewhat DC fan, I feel kinda heartbroken but I'll accept it because I'm an open minded fan. I take it that it's a side game, I think it will be a financial success and that MKvsDC will be a very good FIGHTING GAME. L8z.

Interesting post, yeah I felt much of the same with the shock but at the same time never had that automatic, silly "reason" to knock it off the bat with the "Batman being in it" or the "no fatalities" OMG, lol like a lot of fans have already...like you said it's just another dumb excuse to knock the game that's not even out yet lol. I also liked your point on the fighting engine being a lot like the MKSM opening sequence, that's a very good point and it does look a lot like that....
Like you said the gameplay will be the most important thing and SHOULD be in all fans judgements but we all know that's not going to happen since there's still way too many fans obsessed with the "fatalitiy" concept. Besides, there WILL be finishers as you've said as well. It's like some fans are just dodging or ignoring this fact but is still a "fatality" on some level, it's a finisher=death blow......
But it's like you said, the gameplay will be key along with I think the storyline of how these two popular franchises merge literally.
Your concluded statement, I agree 100% with you. I think if more fans were more openminded to newer ideas(which Boon even said himself we were getting a "new, shocking game" and not so "selfish" at times with what "they" want and give this game a chance to get off it's feet it'll be received just fine.
I'm excited for this game.
