Hey guys, just wanted to stop buy and say whats up. I'm here at my aunt's house riding the storm out ( I live in FL, fucking Hurricanes furious )
Anyway, for the people that say throws are unblockable I think they fixed that, cause if you look at the game informer konquest training vids, you'll see that Shujinko gets thrown 2 times and you can see that he is clearly blocking. Maybe the version that the people were playing was the incomplete version. Hopefully this is a breath of fresh air to everyone.

Yeah, ps2 online is sounding nice. Honestly, the whole throw thing is kinda, meh, with me. I really don't care how shizzle is implemented as long as it's done well, is consistent and somewhat logical. All of which I'm doubting will happen anyways, lol. Ah well.
Order of priority to whore with:
1.) Raiden
2.) Nightwolf
3.) Kabal
4.) Ashra
5.) Random character that catches my interest.
In the vids Baraka had that overhead elbow smash that might be good for mix ups, not sure about recovery, though. On hit it looked aight'. WTF, am I talking bout, though? Was it even a mid? I dont know "cries."
WOOT!!! I simply can't wait to play puzzle kombat!!! WHEEEEEE!! grin It's going to be soooo good!!! Oh, man, Purdue is whooping ass, btw. 0_0

Someone needs to make a definetive tier list when the game comes out. Like doing a chart comparison.
Sub-zero usually beats mileena, but loses to scorpion etc etc and then the character with the most percentage of wins among the characters is the best in the game and then rank the rest.

It's hard to make a tier list undisputable especially if the game has a resonable level of balance. A good example was done on Soulcalibur.com where it was indeed a chart kind of like a multiplication table. It has each character on the Y axis and each character on the X axis as well. It does a character to character analysis and comes up with a number. The higher the number the better chances character Y can beat character X.
It's all based on pecentages though so if Scorpion vs. Kabal gives Scorp a 6 then Kabal vs. Scorpion will give Kabal a 4 since both need to add up to ten. This means that in a Scorpion vs. Kabal matchup, Scorpion has a 3/5 or 60% chance of winning and Kabal has a 40% chance. Then you simply add up everyone's numbers and order them highest to lowest.

Yeah Tony thats the model I was thinking about. I think its a good one, but judging from what others thought of Deadly Alliance, I hope Deception is more balanced than just having two characters undisputed on top.

Was reading other threads and Sub-Zero Masta pointed out to me and others that MKD HAS COUNTER-HITS, this might be old news to some of you, but it is amazingly welcome news to me. Man, I'm excited now. Now whether you have any real advantage for counter-hitting, I don't know. But we can all guess that they added in the counter-hit graphic because it does do something.
You can see the counter-hit graphic by looking at like the Kabal vs Scorpion video from Game Informer, note the red sparks. =)

Not the breakers sst, the counter hit flashes of red sparks. Like HDT said, who knows if they are useful yet or not, but at least it something to hope for.
And HDT, sorry if I sounded like a tool when I said that, but that other dude was being a douche lol.

No, not the breakers, lol. The big red flash when you are hit, around the character, is a counter hit. Though, it is nice to see you up to speed on this, HDT tongue. J/K

All the counter hits provide currently are extra damage. We still have yet to see frame advantage/disadvantage, move properties such as KD, stagger, etc. on counter.
HDT, a very long time ago. Heh.

I don't think it was ever a news item by itself.
But yea it gives some bit of hope that they may acutally be doing something like this. But like SWB said, right now it is just for extra damage.
But since it looks like throws are not blockable any longer, there is a shred of hope.

Yeah I knew about MKD having CH, but I just forgot. Anyway something like that would never be on the news page because they don't give a shit about gameplay stuff for the most part or don't know what makes a good fighter since they don't play anything but Mortal Kombat.

If Shujinko was a set character where you cannot choose his stances/moves, would he not be banned anymore? I mean the MK team hasn't said anything about Shujinko in a long time.
As some people have pointed out before; Shujinko has only been seen with Mantis, Shaolin Fist, Dan Tien Dao. Of course he does have a few special moves or so revealed right now. Freeze, Spear, Telekinetic Slam, Raiden's Torpedo, etc. But maybe the ending number of them will be 5 as well.
So if he's not customizable, should he be considered a normal character then that's just very tedious to unlock?

I don't know, I guess we'd have to wait and see if he's broke and what not. if he's just a normal character that's a mesh of others, like blaze and what not, then I have no problems with him in tourny play.

I'd say yeah. If he's limited and not customizable then he could be used just the same in tournaments. It's not him that's the problem, it's that if his styles are customizable then he gets an unfair advantage since the Shujinko player would know what his opponent's Scorpion can do but the Scorpion player would have no idea what Shujinko could do. The only way I can see him being allowed if he is customizable is if there's some kind of default Shujinko. You know, maybe if Shujinko has Mantis, Shaolin Fist, and Broadsword as a default then that default Shujinko would be allowed but any other modifications of him would be banned.

Personally i think it is silly to ban a character.. customized or not. Yes, i understand what you all are saying about having an unfair advantage with him (opponents not knowing what stances/s.m's he has been assigned), but lets face reality guys, no matter who you pick in an MK game, unless you are doing a mirror match, 1 character will already have an advantage.
Banning a customized character for the excuses you gave is pretty much the equivilant of saying you cannot do any combos/juggles that arent listed on the command list because the other character didnt know to expect them. C'mon guys, how silly is that??
Everyone on this board is so convinced that they are one of the only good MK players out there, and the rest of the kommunity are a bunch of scrubs. Is this "ban" an attempt to safeguard that opinion???? When it comes to Shujinko, its as simple as this, if your oppenent picks him, you pick him. If you picked first, then he picked Shujinko, pick him next match, or fuck him as he fucked you when he picks first. You cant honestly say a Shujinko v Shujinko match would be unfair. Both of you had the same oppurtunity to customize the character to ur liking. You cant hold it against someone one for being better than you or knowing how to play better.
In no way am i flaming.. just being the devils advocate on this one.
