For people with dayjobs and a Scott Howell, MKO did a pretty good job. My only complaint is I wish some of the files were easier to download and not sooo huge and the party could of been a little more prepared in terms of not filming it soo dark. Otherwise good job guys. I'm sure seeing Scott get drunk should of been put on the site, but oh w-nah just put it on. Watching him pick a fight with a midway cardboard cutout would be great.

Man, this crap is gay. These guys that run this place worked day in and day out to make this place great, then go to E3 to get some awesome stuff and when they post it for us, people start bitching because it isn't what they wanted to see, or there isn't enough. Well get over it people! They're human! They're not God! They're not psychic! They can't tell us what isn't revealed yet! They can't get stuff that hasn't been said yet! And for christ sakes, they are not our slaves! If they want to play the freaking game and have some fun, let them! Thats what the mother ****** place is for! Thats why they have the games there! TO PLAY! If you were there ErmacWins, you can't ****** lie to us and tell us all you would do is pump Boon and Co. for info and not have a ball playing the God **** DEMO!!! GET THE FREAK OVER YOURSELF AND GROW UP! Either be thankful of what they gave us, since they really didn't have to, or shut the **** up! Okay.....I'm calm now LOL. Anyways, moving away from that lil' rant, I'd like to give my thanks to ya'll for the awesome job you did. Can't wait for more updates. This means a lot to me because I've been wanting to see new stuff for a while now, and ya'll made my day! Ya'll are the best! Cheers!

''Hey, we're here.'' ''We played MK:D today, it was pretty cool.'' ''Played MK:D again today, here's a little taste of what we saw.''
''Last day today. We'll update later.''

UGH.

Again, I'm not trying to be a jerk. That's just my opinion on the matter. I do enjoy this website though. Just didn't fully enjoy this E3 coverage particularly.

That is exactly how I felt about the coverage, not that I'm not grateful at all mind you, but it was just somewhat lacking in ATTAINABLE information.

I just can't help but think that there is a decent amount of INFORMATION (NOT MEDIA) that some of the moderators have, and are for some reason, NOT SHARING.

I'm getting the vibe that they were somewhat disappointed with game, but fear saying so.

Anyway, more so than ANY screenshot or movie, I would really like to see some "In Depth" thoughts on the overall experience with the different modes, not just an explantion of what the content of the modes are, but a sort of "review" of their time spent with them.

Now that I think about it, the stuff that we didn't get out of the coverage could actually still be done, because it could be done with WORDS alone. wink

I'm kinda in between here on this subject. The stuff they gave was great but the way they built it up before hand, i thought we would be getting more.

I appreciate the stuff they've posted, better coverage than any other site for MKD!

Yeah, but they hyped it up because they were excited. They didn't know so much little was gonna be revealed. They gave us all they got. If you want to bitch at someone about less info, write Boon an e-mail and bitch at him. It's not MKO's fault. Why do ya'll want so much info anyway? Do you want to go see a movie and hear a guy give out the ending of the movie as he's coming out while you are going in?? NO! So why would Boon want us to know everything WAY WAY WAY before the game comes out?? SAME REASON! Ya'll just need patience. If there are things we don't know yet and stuff that hasn't been given to the general public yet, it hasn't been given for a reason. So get over it and enjoy the fact that MKO got atleast some really cool stuff from their short 3 days at E3! LONG LIVE MKO!!

So what's Ed Boon's email address? I'll write that guy right now!

But seriously, I agree with the coverage lacking. I checked this site like 5 times a day every day that E3 was going on and NOTHING. NOTHING. NOTHING. Then at the end of the day, a little paragraph. The only thing that I saw as far as NEW was the character select screen and the loading screens, they were OK I guess... But, we were promised Arcade Treasures info and pictures and I only saw like 5 pictures... And YES I do want to see pictures of MK and MK2 AND MK3. I don't care if theyre old I want to see what the hell they look like.

I enjoyed the new stuff, don't get me wrong... but I think that it could have been way better. And don't give me this : "Oh they have dayjobs and better things to do!" BS because if you FLY out to LA to go to E3 then basically all youre gonna do is go to E3. Youre proably not gonna go get a rental car and go sight seeing so I know they had the time to update. In closing, when you promise you should deliver.

I thought this thread was closed.

My only complaints are lack of confirmed characters, but that's not MKO's fault so I don't put the blame on them for that, and the E3 live thing. It wasn't exactly live. They had on that thing on the right, the last they updated it the first day was at 1:31 pm, which is kind of diappointing. But that doesn't really matter to me at all.

Good job MKO. I give you credit and respect for the effort.

"Not to be a snob, but I think the real problem here is that the administrators of this site are a group of kids. And you never send a kid to do a man's job. Hate me for saying that if you want, but at least I have the guts to say it. So many of you on here are probably so afraid of being banned, that you're skeptical about speaking out."

Excuse me? We're not children and don't call us such. Because we love you guys SO much we did not party, we updated.. we stayed up until 2-3 am.. each night.. till we couldn't stay online anymore updating for you guys. Thanks to all who appreciate the work, we are truly grateful for all of you, but to say things like we can't do a man's job is rediculous! And why compare us to IGN and Gamespot? We are not professionals, we do not have all the equipment they do. We do not.. get paid. We do it for you and you only. And honestly I think our coverage has been better then any of the top gaming sites. But what do you expect, we're only covering one game. As for MAT II, I'll say it again, we are NOT done with our coverage. We still have more videos to release, including raw footage of MAT2. We'll get to that when we are DONE with MK: Deception. Besides, MATII only had Mortal Kombat 1 playable at E3.

You guys who say we didn't try hard enough really make us laugh. I for one, went all out for everyone, and if this coverage doesn't please you, go to E3 yourself and let's see you do a better job. But again, thanks to those who realize we worked our asses off to make this year's coverage the best.

lol yes again my thanks to MKO... great job... the only thing lacking that i am still hoping to see is more in depth reviews from those that attended.. not confirming anything really but just personal opionons on how things add up so far in deception and compare and contrast to previous installments etc... tha'ts all im wantning right now.. as for the coverage and media and all else so far excellent job and far better than any "official" gaming site out there... so great job MKO....

Hey because of their decent job, I'm gonna throw out an offer to MKO. If E3 hits Atlanta again you ALL have a place to stay for free (although you may have to share beds, I only have 2 guest rooms completed). Of course I'd love to tag along and ask Boon some other questions and I'd love to help on the multimedia side and would gladly donate my high speed wireless network for late night updates and video editing (I can pull some stuff really fast if needs be) and for downloading porn in private.

Alright. This is my final post on this subject.

Scott, I would love to go to E3, but unfortunately it's not open to the public. Please remember that.

Again, I do like this site a lot, and I do think that normally everybody that's involved with this site does a great job. My thoughts were just that this years E3 coverage was pretty sparse. You did have more info than any of the other MK sites though. I'll certainly give you that.

I understand that there may not have been a whole lot of new things to update us on, since the game is still in the development stages and Boon and Co. are holding their ground as to how much information they give us before the games release.

However, myself and a lot of people who frequent this site, were simply hoping for more than one update at the end of every day at E3. And since E3 comes only once a year, we all know just how massive the event is, and with this new MK coming out and the announcement of MAT2, the anticipation for new info and pics is incredible. And as far as E3 goes, this was probably one of the biggest and most important shows for the MK series. God knows most gamers and industry insiders are not as excited about the series as they once were, so this year was very important.

In final conclusion, I was in no way trying to bash the site with this thread. I was merely sounding off on my opinions of this years lack of E3 coverage. I see that you have since released more impressions of MK:D and you have stated that there's more to come, and that's great. It was just very frustrating to check this site every couple hours during those 3 big days only to see nothing new being posted on the main page. So I hope you can understand. Just try to put yourself in our shoes. You got to play the new game, talk to Ed Boon, and go to the biggest video game conference in the world! We were not so lucky, we had to sit behind our computers all day waiting for any kind of update. And that honestly sucked.

Man, I don't know about the person who wrote this thread but I for one am satisfied with all the information I seen.

It just amazes me to see how far video games have gone in the past 10 years. I remember hearing only rumors of the new Mortal Kombat games before coming to this site and not finding out anything about a new game untill it was released.

I've been going to this site on and off for nearly 5 years now and the E3 shows are the big pay offs that I wait for. I must say all the videos and information we had recieved for this game surpases the information from E3 about 2 years ago when we were anticipating Deadly Alliance.

Man, for the creators of the site you must feel blessed for actually going off to a private event and meeting the people whom you admired their work. I am very thankful for all the info and just can't wait to kick all your asses in October wink.

I'm not mad at you ErmacWins, it's just I think there is a misconception of what goes on at E3. We're only a staff of around 5. We don't have all of the resources IGN and Gamespot have to update the site during the show. And no offense to readers who want that.. but take into consideration.. we don't WANT to update during the show unless we have to, (And we did once). We're at E3, like you said the best video game conference in the world. Yes, we're reporting for the site.. but we even we didn't want to stay at the Midway booth all day. What did we do when we weren't updating? We were having the time of our life exploring and playing the OTHER games. And I think we have every right. You'd be stupid to stay at the Midway booth after flying to E3 and not have fun. And we are entitled to that.. Again.. our coverage isn't over.. We'll be making up for it, by Wednesday we should be posting our review of MK: Deception. If we had all the time in the world while at the show, we would have updated then.. But again, Yeah.. you're right we didn't, because we'd rather enjoy our trip. Trust me, if you were there you'd be doing the same. Criticize the coverage when it's over, but not during.

Again, I don't want you to think there's hard feelings, but if you get a chance to go to E3 I think you'll understand why you can't get more then one or two updates a night.

ErmacWins, I haven't read all three pages yet, but . . .

Being ]0MBAT's brother, I know a little more about what it's like for the e3 crew than you do. It might look like you have all day to have mindless fun at e3, but when you're sent to get coverage for a web-site, it's actually quite hectic to do all that stuff. I remember what a strenuous, complicated ordeal it was just to get the shirts and hats that said "Mortal Kombat Online" on them (which is probably assumed by the general public to have been some effortless thing that just got taken care of), cause I was there for that.

Anyway, ] got 10 hours of sleep within an entire week, and kept passing out when he got back here. And when they had the interview done on TV, they had to be very quick about it, and try their best not to mess up. They tried to call some other staff members over before the interview shooting began, but there wasn't even enough time for that. I don't know completely what it's like to be there, but I do at least have a closer understanding than the average reader.

I hope I didn't say anything I wasn't supposed to . . .

It's starting to almost irritate me how all the staff members aren't telling ErmacWins how hard it was to do all this when accused of putting pleasure over work. But anyway, now I've read all the posts, and I guess there isn't much left to say on this subject.

Like Scott said, the MKO staff isn't a staff of professionals. When ] comes to e3 with his own hat, and a transparent MKO logo in the corner of his videos . . . well, it's as impressive for him to do as it would be a random, ordinary 20-something MK fan. The assumption that they're trained pros, and anything short of the best is lazy, is wrong.

And anyway, I remember first finding out that it would be possible at all for updates to take place during the e3 days. The original thought was that they would return, and report everything then, all at once. I was actually quite impressed when I heard that updates could go on during e3 (and I never did find out how they did it), because I knew how their days in LA would be completely occupied with activity. It didn't occur to me to expect tons more. I don't think any of the staff had laptops anyway, and using them in the middle of the e3 show would have been quite difficult.

But anyway, g2g, peace

Scott Howell, Mobster4Christ, you guys have absolutely nothing to explain. Most of us out here know that this is a fan site, and that you don't get paid. The fact that you were willing to do any work and reporting for us at all for the pretty much squat you get from us is greatly appreciated. Especially when you were living out every fans dream at E3, getting to see all those new games... We should be glad you were willing to do work for us at all when you had so many cool things vying for your attention. I'd personally have been in the Bungie booth with Halo 2 most of the time had I gone. *g*

Keep in mind that no matter how much you do, and no matter how cool something is, there will ALWAYS be someone who complains... Frankly it's almost not even worth it to respond to this sort of thing. The fact that you were willing to when you have nothing to answer for reflects even better on you guys and show how much you care about MK, the site, and those who use this site.

Thank you.
