BUt didn't they show his helmet dropping with blood all over, one would think that means his death. I alos thought they said they had to over throw him so they betrayed Kahn.

Sareena was a demon in the service of Quan Chi during MK Mythologies. The Original Sub-Zero spared her life, but Quan killed her. During MKDA, she escaped from the netherrealm, and Sifu Sub-Zero gave her safely within the walls of the new Lin Kuei arctic temple.
No one has said anything about Cyrax yet, but the rumor mill on Sektor's behalf is strong.
Whoever said Ermac and Sektor were supposed to be in MKDA? I never heard anything of the sort.
Shang Tsung appears to be dead. We've heard nothing about him for now.
Kano appears to be dead too, perhaps killed by Mavado.
And yes, a helmet falling means nothing. They probably just hit him really hard in the head, made his nose bleed a bit, and he ran off crying like a little girl.
OK, seriously, Reptile's conquest mode had him finding Kahn's corpse on the ground. People forget that.

I can imagine how the final fight between Shang, Quan and Kahn went.

(Quan Chi rips off Kahn's leg and starts beating him with it)

Khan is dead. It wasn't only in Reptile's conquest text, but also in the intro. (Don't only think about the helmet, but also of the speekers speach.)

And in regards to escaping the netherrealm, I believe she found a portal.

I don't think that MKTE is MK Gold, cause MK Gold is MK Gold. I rather think, that MKTE is an upgrade of MKDA, but for which console? (By the way, that "upgrade of MKDA-theorie" wasn't my idea, cause I find it obsurd...))

MKTE:
MKTE is the upgrade to DA, just like Gold is an update to 4, and U/T are updates to 3. It added weapon fatalities for every character, a tag mode, and a bunch of other random stuff as well.
Sektor / Sareena:
MKTE added Sektor and Sareena to the DA cast, and explained what they'd been up to. Sektor has his own clan of cyber ninjas in japan to rival sub, and Sareena was able to escape netherrealm (dead), so now technically either of them could come back for De.
Shao Kahn:
During fight night (you can still find the transcript on this site if you look) it was revealed that Shao is not dead, and that he and Reiko are not the same person.
If you think MK is all about "pure human" characters then you're forgetting that MK1 had Goro (4 armed half human half dragon) AND Shang Tsung (million year old wizard who turns into other people) in it.
I guess they really were right about the "deception" at this point no one really knows who the hell is in the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong...we never did see Kahn killed. We only saw the beginning of the attack and some blood on that helmet of his. Where we actually say the neck break in Liu Kang's death scene with Shang Tsung enslaving his soul. I would think if they had killed the Emperor in the attack, then Shang would have done the same to him and thus being so powerful as to not need Quan Chi's help in that fight with Liu Kang. I think there is a very good chance that the Emperor got away but badly hurt. The 'Deadly Alliance' assumed that he was dieing and didn't bother to go after him. (The required cliche for this to work.)

Who knows, maybe he is infact not dead...
Only time will tell...
But I think that the MK Team wouldn't let him live, if it looked like he died...
Besides, I don't think that the DA would LET him die, they'ld rather kill him. Maybe the MK Team didn't want to show Khan die, because they wanted to attract more attention while showing Liu Kang's death. Maybe Shang Tsung couldn't take his soul, because his soul was so pure of evil, that it would take control of Tsung. Maybe Shao Khan's soul was cursed??

I'm not really going to refute the Shao Kahn death thing here, either you believe it or you don't, read the fight night transcript.
At no point in DA does it say he's actually dead though, only that Shang and Quan whooped on him. Unless you could Reptile's reaction, which is sitll semi inconclusive.
MKTE is Mortal Kombat : Tournament Edition, it was released for the GameBoyAdvance a couple of months after DA came out. It's listed in the MKO Bible (though it has no data) and you can buy it at just about any video game retailer, it's not that rare or hard to find.
According to TE, Sareena found a portal from nether to outworld that she was able to feed off of and recover her humanity, she then escaped and ran into Young Sub, who brought her under the protection of LinKuei for helping his elder brother long ago.
Sektor's new clan is the Tekunin which I think it supposed to translate roughly cyber man / men, or iron man / men. [Tekku/a (Iron/Metal) Jin/Nin (people/person) someone correct me if I'm wrong on the translation.] They are in located in japan (Lin Kuei in China).
Scorpion's clan was called Shirai Ryu I think according to the MK1 comic book.
Noob was also in TE. He's the one who gave Goro the wound that ended his life ultimately, but there's no word of what if anything he did during DA times.
Unfortuantely, the three of them were just clones of existing characters except for their specials.

What actualy happened to Sareena in the end? And do you think that she will be in MKD? I, for my part, don't think so. And I don't think that Sektor will make it either...
Too bad though.
Maybe Shao Khan's spirit will be reborn into the DK. After all, the DK was once ruler of Outworld. The same could be said about Shao Khan, if he is indeed to die. Maybe Shao Khan was a rebirth of the DK, who is even more evil than Shao Khan. That would mean only one thing.... trouble! ;)
If Noob did indeed kill Goro, then that would sort of explain Noob's appearance in MKD. Isn't Noob a consumed soul of Ermac (according to the MK2 movie)? That would explain Ermac's existance in MKD, but not from where he came from...
Oh, and one more thing, why did Goro work with Kitana in the first place, if he was the sub-boss in MK4? Wouldn't he be betraying Shinnok?

TE Stuff:
Well, what I said is basically Sareena's ending. Meets up with Sub Zero, becomes allies with the Lin Kuei.
Considering they went through the trouble of putting them both in TE, and Noob is already confirmed, I tend to believe they are coming back. My suspicion is that the girl everyone thinks is Li Mei will ultimately be Sareena, but who knows. I just plain don't like Li Mei now that Mileena's back.
Shao:
Well, take it or leave it, Boon said Shao is at least going to get a mention in this game so he can't be dead, and personally I believe the Reptile = DK plot line.
Noob:
Don't believe anything the movie says, since it not only says Liu Kang killed shao Kahn, but Shao and Raiden are brothers, Shao killed Johnny cage, Smoke was killed by Sub Zero and lots of other stuff we know didn't happen. According to the games, Noob is part of a brotherhood of Shinnok supporters. In MK2 he was scouting the realm, in UMK3 he was trying to assasinate Shao, in MK4 he was working for Shinnok. If shinnok is dead, who knows why Noob is there.
Ermac:
Ermac on the other hand is a collection of random souls given flesh by Shao Kahn, supposedly Kenshi freed him of Shao's control before DA, and in return Ermac taught Kenshi telekinesis, so either Ermac's a wild card or if Kenshi never made it back to earth after DA, maybe he paired up with Ermac to maybe find a way home in De, who knows.
Goro:
Goro and Kitana made peace at the end of MK4, so I doubt he was working for Shinnok. Therefore Goro and Kitana teamed up to battle Shao Kahn's remaining army led by Kano before DA. Noob wounded Goro, and he died some time later in the royal tent or something.

In MK: Mythologies didn't they say that Sareena killed Quan Chi with her deadly blades but then was instantly killed when Shinnok entered the room out of nowhere.

Sareena saw Sub-Zero spare her life and saw it as an opportunity to escape the Netherealm. So, she helped him defeat Quan-Chi (but not kill him, I don't think). Sareena begged Sub-Zero to help her get out, but before he could say more, Shinnok came in and blasted her dead.
She was left in the Netherealm, and Shinnok punished her for her betrayal by sending her to the 5th plane of the Netherealm, where she endured all the torment the other souls got, eventually transforming her into an Oni. There, she remained for 20 years more.
All of a sudden, Sareena found a portal in the Netherealm (not the same one Scorpion, Quan-Chi, Moloch, and Drahmin went through, though) and used it to escape (ooh, they got some serious explaining to do, and I don't want to hear "oh, the portal was just there.") While outside, she learned to feed off the aura of Outworld and it gave her her human appearance back....since then, she's been wandering the Outworld.
If her ending is true, Sareena ran into Sub-Zero's little brother (the Subby we know now) and he allowed her solice into the Lin Kuei HQ since she saved his brother 20 years ago. They returned to Earthrealm, and well.....Sareena is now living in the Lin Kuei HQ, but does she have a trick up her sleeve?
