we all know i use BRC, and i hav played u i am your death, and i dont believe u owned my BRC at anytime,,, and the only way to beat a player who can sidestep, and no distances with brc is jade, dairou completely owns him, cause hes slow cant get near him, and if u jump at the back drop u get uppercutted instantly when landing, and as doom has said use brc, and just do the f3, walk up throw, walk up and make them guess 50/50 on the throw or f3, yes, very boring, and a match not even worth playing after 2 times, as far as experience, characters i seem to own with brc, are kang, scorp, n/s and raiden

i keep it simple w/ li mei.. i do her 3 move then 4 move finish w/ ff+2.. or ill do her 3 move, then 112, 4 move, then ff+2.. if i extend any more then do ff+2 ill miss it.. true!!

I believe I remember our matches and they were quite fun, but if you are the same person I remember, (The only person who has recently beaten me with BRC) I gave you a hell of alot of trouble and I was in no way owned, just beaten. I never did see you do the combo that everyone is mentioning but apparently you did'nt need it we all know i use BRC, and i hav played u I AM YOURDEATH, and i dont believe u owned my BRC at anytime,,, and the only way to beat a player who can sidestep, and no distances with brc is jade, dairou completely owns him, cause hes slow cant get near him, and if u jump at the back drop u get uppercutted instantly when landing, and as doom has said use brc, and just do the f3, walk up throw, walk up and make them guess 50/50 on the throw or f3, yes, very boring, and a match not even worth playing after 2 times, as far as experience, characters i seem to own with brc, are kang, scorp, n/s and raiden

Today I played a player named "OA-Noobe".Basically,he has a combo with Noob-Smoke that does about 30%-35% of damage,is completely inescapable with combo breakers, and sets you up for another perfect 50/50 mix up into the same thing.
Has anybody else ever played this individual?

havent played him, but i have played a guy named deeks.. he did the same combo vs me many times.. he barely wins, but does because of it...
i actually wish there were more combos like this in mk6, that way we could have as many combo breakers as we like (as long as their harder to perform) so that we'd be forced to come up w/ 3-5 hit combos that are not breakable and only do about 30-35% damage..

GGs yesterday Mastermalone!
Those Kobra / Kobra matches were awesome. He's my main guy and these were some of the toughest games I've played against him yet. All i'm gonna say about your style of Kobra is... Damn you and your d+1 in Kali Sticks, LOL! I need to put a little of that into my game cuz i never realized how useful it can be for spacing & countering. I just really like how Shorin Ryu works, so i'm in that most of a fight. Work on your BDCs... Everyone can benefit from it, but Kobra is definately the stick and move kind of fighter and BDCing will really emphasize it.
You play a pretty mean Noob-Smoke too! Evey time you said pick that guy again cuz i have somebody to stop it, it was noob, LOL! But thats cool. You got a good 50/50 game with him and if you can dictate the spacing on the screen, you'll win. You drop the stink bomb and baited it very well. And try not to get too caught up in that infinate my friend was showing you. It's good to know cuz it can guarantee you a win, but the way you played him is far more respectable.
I haven't been playing a whole lot lately, but i'm gonna throw you on my friends list so i can fuck you up again some time.

This uber 50/50 style of playing NS is used by myself and my friend, and it's incredibly effective. I haven't talked about noob much so...
1. u+4 - hits mid, great damage. When it connects I like to do u+4,d,b+2,3. 3 plants them down on the ground and it's unbreakable and untechable, meaning you can walk up and have your GUARANTEED 50/50.
2. throw - duh! probably the best throw in the game. guaranteed damage afterwards, great damage by itself, great for setting up wall game due to how they fall down and how you can position yourself so they are against the wall and you're in front. When a throw connects I do f,f+4,3. I know most don't do that, but I love how it gives me a guaranteed 50/50. That to me is what NS is all about..positioning and mind games..just like Sub.
3. 3 - some prefer this over u+4 due to it's unbreakable properties, but I almost always finish my juggles with it. A great, great juggle ender.
4. Sais - Great vs other NS players and Sub players if you predict they will Clone or Stinky cloud. If you predict correctly, they are pretty much guaranteed to take some damage. However, if they predict that you predict that will clone/sai, you will sidestepped, and that's never good.
5. Telepunch - Good after a throw, and also good to throw your opponent off here and there. This kind of works as a "throw escape" in the fact if you do this while a throw is coming out it neglects the throw animation and punishes it. Good players WILL see this coming, so don't get caught into doing it too much. Only if you have a good lead and a nice mind game going, but in a game like MKD where everyone can deal 40% in about 5 seconds..no lead is safe.
6. noob's telepunch - I don't know the name, but it's d,b+3. I love to start my match out with that some times, props to my training partner Edtricycle for being the first to really tool around with the idea. It's relatively safe and if it isn't abused you can really get into their head here and there. Also when you are smoke it's not a bad idea to throw his version of d,b+3 out here and there too. Just remember that if the opponent is really good and they predict it's coming you will most likely eat a throw.
7. Stinky Cloud - I hate how people don't use this move right. I face lots of NS players and some just moronically stinky cloud to death..no. The best way to use this move is sparingly and when you either need to turtle up(due to running down the clock, uncomfortable positioning on the arena or if you're facing someone really good tier wise like Bo) or when you know they will try to retaliate. For example, u+4 can be somewhat difficult to punish due to how it somewhat knocks you back. Now if u+4 is blocked you'd best believe they will try to punish you, so buffer in the stinky cloud and hope that by the time they try to punish the cloud will have come out. Shit like this works..trust me. If you set up a really nice wall game, clouding them against the wall gives them that hopeless, claustophobic feeling(trust me, i've been on the receiving end of this). Where they are almost certain to block. If they do so, guaranteed 50/50, and if they try to punish...CLOUDED! If they side step up to get out of the cloud trap you can you can follow them and even try u+4 if you think they wont block(it's an up move so it automatically tracks without the need for you to UT it).
Besides Bo Rai Cho and Dariou I find NS to be the most annoying character to play against, but when you are truly good with him you get that uber wicked feeling of domination. He's my secondary.
Lol yeah MRS, konq and I are working on a Sub FAQ, but because of his job(and living in utah) and my school(and living in NJ) it's hard to find times to work on it, but it will be out soon.
Here's something we haven't really talked about....TIER LIST! lol...I play lots of people and have tried online out a ton, but due to my lack of broadband im gonna need a couple peeps to help me out on this one. Greg(Reptilestyle) and I talked about one a month ago and he scribbled down a quick prototype that looked really good IMO, but due to both our lack of Tanya and Sindel experience, we had a hard time placing those two. Anyway, MRS,danadab,m2dave,mastermalone, all yall...we should get together and work on this sometime. Im not sure if the PM system works so put yall AIM names down.

Kenshi Tai Chi Air Combos
B+1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3 = 32%
not 2, 2, 2, the combo, just the standing punch ( chopping strike ), and just keep moving in and catch em with kick at the end
B+1, 2, 2, 2, teleslam, 2, 2, 2 telethrow = 46%
same shit with the 2, 2, 2

Versatile,good Noob-Smoke shit.But I don't think that's the combo I've seen people doing with Noob-Smoke,I think it was:
Throw, f,f+4, d,b+2, d+1(low poke), b+2 (not sure;it's either this or b+1?)
With Smoke, obviously.Inescapable and untech-able.That's with the throw;I forgot, however, what they do after u+4 as the same combo doesn't quite work.Somebody test it or something. Also,NS has the dumb infinite combo in the corner. If you throw them close to a wall, simply dash like crazy as this will get you closer to a wall, which will help you set up a possible infinite combo.
As far as top-tiers are concerned:
1.BRC
2.Dariou
3.Noob-Smoke
4.Darrius
..from here on it's hard to say.Maybe Scorpion,Tanya,Kobra (this faggot has some low poke shit in his weapon stance that somebody mentioned earlier),Jade,Raiden...I cannot think of anybody else right now.
I really do think Noob-Smoke has the best potential to beat BRC.NS has a great keep away,an infinite, and the unbreakable combo shit that has been already mentioned. But I think BRC gets f+3 after blocked u+4 with Smoke,so that sucks.Maybe his 3 is save...don't know.

Not bad
The people you have mentioned are top tier or very high mid but the order i disagree on.. Vers and I have been trying to but heads with this tier list for awhile but have been unable to actually sit down together and play and finalize our findings..
From all the strats i have developed on my own and read here I'll list my top 6,
This list is based on No use of
Infinites or Corner glitches as
those 2 factors change rank
1. Bo
2. Dariou
3. Kobra
4. Darrius *
5. NoobSmoke *
6. Lui Kang
As for who is next, I agree.. Scorp, Jade, and Raiden, but as well as Shujinko and Baraka can added to that group.. As for who is better than who, it is very hard to say as they are all very close and user specific.
YOu might disagree with my list from 3 down, but let me explain why i put Kobra so high.. He simply controls the match if not playing against Bo.. He can even easily defeat Dariou if up close (but then so can anyone if you dont allow him space).. As for why he is above Darrius and N/S, simply because of his Kali sticks.. They are tooo safe and to many mix ups.. You have nothing to worry about with d+1 and d+3 which recover faster than your opponent can unblock and attack. YOu train the person to duck low with repeated low pokes.. 3-5 at a time in some cases.. Then you simply walk up and you have a plethra of options for mix up.. u+3, b+3, f+1(all hit mid). If they stand, you can throw, 3, continue with poking, low fireball, or chip away damage with 1,1,2,4,3(b+3). Kobra can even compete in his Ryu stance with his ultra fast jabbing.
* As for Darrius being above NS, that could be questioned as im still undecided on who has more risk v reward. Darrius is capable of way more damage, but is very limited to high level play without reptitive gauntlet mix up and d,f+3's. NS has less damage but more options for the mix up which makes your opponent guess more.
Lastly Lui places above the other 18 simply for his speed, High/Mid/Low variety, BDC priority, and lastly Considerable damage (combos in mid 40%s) for a character with all the other attributes.
1.BRC

AIM: m2dave Cro Cool
Kobra -Yeah,he's definitely got the potential to be top-tier,but I think he still isn't that high. When a Kobra players hits a d+3 in his weapon stance, you can backdash quickly, and then immdiately block so you avoid eating a mid move, such as b+3.However,the Kobra player can backdash as well but grab you this time.I don't know.He also has those stupid dial-a-combos that either end in b+3 (mid) or a 3 (low). He also has that low fireball which can get so annoying.I'd say he's top,but he is the MOST dangerous near walls and corners where you cannot backdash to avoid his mix ups.On a side note,f+1 doesn't hit mid.I don't know if you people have noticed, but certain characters can duck "better" or "lower" to avoid certain mid moves, while not necessarily BLOCKING.If you duck and block low, these mid moves might hit you. These properties vary from a character's stance;usually a character's weapon stance puts him higher when he/she ducks, while all the other stances put him lower while he/she ducks.Test this and see for yourself.
Scorpion - He's probably my favorite in this one.I won't bother explaining why he is so good since I've already done so on page #1.However,to stress some good moves,I will explain again.Basically,in his weapon stance,f+1 is pretty save (which is extremely important while fighting characters like BRC).His d+1 (low) avoids so many things and gives some kind of advantage where the opponent cannot move for some time. This gives you an opportunity to set up Throw/f+1/Hellfire mix ups.All the aforemetioned mix ups of Scorpion are great as well, but you need to watch out while doing Hellfire.IMO he is at least #7 as far as top-tiers are concerned.
Noob-Smoke - Exluding his infinite,he's still one of the best. After I saw that inescapable combo crap while fighting Noobe,I started laughing. This can set you up for the same shit again (either Throw or u+4).If they guess wrong twice it's already too much damage.NS also has the stupid Smoke Cloud. This means you need to be careful while rushing him;otherwise,he gets a free throw...and you get the idea.At least #3 or #4 as far as tiers are concerned.
Darrius - I have found out that his 3 in his weapon stance isn't that save as I initially thought. If a Darrius player abuses random 3's,just backdash and punish. The problem for some characters is that they cannot punish it.Some might trade hits, and both opponents will get juggled. In any case,he still has the stupid 3, d,f+3 combo where you cannot combo-break it nor tech-roll after it.After throw,he gets around 50%-60% of damage usually. In corners, gets even more.I'd say he's maybe #4?
Dariou - Tombstone...
.Not only does he have that, but also another projectile.Best keep away in the entire game.I still believe his weapon stance is his best stance.I think his b+2 (???) hits mid,and then after that 1,1,f+3 can be done for 41% of damage. You can also do 1,1,f+3 after Tombstone for 33% of damage after right distances;otherwise,I'd just do his d+2 as it leaves you very good off.I don't know...once you're full screen away from a Dariou player, you might as well quit. It's very hard to get close to him because you have to guess like 2-3 times correctly whether he'll do his projectile, tombstone,or maybe even teleport when you get up close. He's #2 IMO.

Damn being suspended is such a double edged sword....anyway....
M2dave,ReptileStyle and myself can't do this on our own guys. We need more people! AIM NAMES PLEASE!
I can rather confidently say that Noob-Smoke is better than Darrius. with me being an Sub/NS player and my friend being pretty good with him, I have had plenty of NS vs Darrius experience.
First and foremost remember with tiers that when you are deciding who should be placed higher you shouldnt focus on who wins the fight, but rather who does better vs the other lower/higher tiered characters. For example, in Li Mei vs Sub-Zero in MKDA was a hard match for Sub. She outpriotized him and baji quan: b+4 outprioritized him horribly. However, Li Mei was considered by most to be #19 at best while Sub was ranked #16. Why? Because even though they both weren't that good, Sub faired better vs other chars at the highest level of play.
Anyway NS vs Darrius is 6-4 Noob-Smoke's favor in my opinion. I think it's very difficult to argue with me that NS has the upperhand. When you are at mid range it's a dangerous fight for both, but the difference here is at any point the NS player can use the cloud and be, in general, 100% safe against anything Darrius can do. If 3 is blocked, Darrius is raped. If d,f+3 is blocked for the most part he's also going to get raped. Noob Smoke has much better positionining options due to his throw animation(sidewalk around or jump over head for wall rape positioning) and even the stink cloud(jumping over their head and such to get better wall rape positioning), while darrius is pretty much forced to play a straight horizontal game while he's mixing up. Obviously Darrius has better throw rape options(not counting the infinite that NS has), and he can deal much more damage, but in the 3D mks damage never really decided who was good and who wasn't, and I don't think the tradition changes here.
Vs top tier character's I'd also say NS has the upperhand. Liu Kang vs NS favors NS big time, while i'd say Darrius vs Liu Kang is a fairly even fight. NS can force Kobra to play his game by baiting Kobra in with stink clouds. Trust me folks, the low fire ball isn't exaclty hard to side step. Not to mention NS's high risk/high reward factor is fucking awesome. If your mind games are solid enough and you can read your opponent, f,f+4 could escape the low fire ball. Follow the telepunch up with 3 and you have a guaranteed 50/50 Kobra cant escape. Darrius must get in to beat Kobra, and the prioritiy of kali: d+1 is way too good. All the Kobra player has to worry about is making sure he blocks low at mid range since due to gauntlets: 3's poor range you can't mix it up unless in close. NS vs Jade favors Jade, but even without the stink cloud, let's not forget that Jade is by far one of the most unsafe characters in the entire game. 2nd stance: 3 and b+1 are so unsafe that you could go take a piss, come back, and still have time to pick up your controller and punish. Darrius does better vs her due to his damage, though. There's plenty of other match ups I could review, but im just giving a few examples. In my opinion NS is the MORE DOMINATING high tier character.
mid tier characters for the most part can beat either of these guys. Sub vs NS is a fairly balanced fight(NS only wins 6-4 in my opinion), and he can also beat Darrius(though I believe it's 7-3 darrius favor). Li Mei can beat them both, but she has to be VERY patient vs both of them. Li Mei can more easily zone out Darrius with Kunlundao: 2 then she can vs NS due to cloud, so i'd say she fairs better vs Darrius. Ermac has a VERY difficult time vs both of the, but if NS plays a keep away game, Ermac can win. MS Float d+3 is just way too good sometimes. Darrius is a bit tougher due to his massive damage and that good Darrius players dont really gave Ermac much room to use his MS float mind games. His throw gives him good distance away from darrius if it hits, and hes only one guess away from getting one to connect. I think Ermac does equally decent vs both, but I think at the highest level of play Darrius is a bit more difficult.
As for low tiers, Mileena and Kabal both get raped vs them both, but since Kabal does so much fucking damage(and has ways of setting it up), id say he does better vs the two of them. Mileena vs NS is one of the worst match ups in the game since her great close up game is shut down by the cloud. Mileena vs Darrius is more balanced, but still a rape. Kabal fairs better vs both, for their both just one fuck up away from eating 45%. I believe NS does better vs both of them, but either way they get raped by most the roster nonetheless.
Darrius is great, no doubt about it, but I believe NS is that much better. I know I may come off as bias because I play NS seriously, but I can also use Darrius as well, and hes way too "flow dependant" to me. If the person is an intelligent blocker his entire game is shut down for the most part. Im sure this will be argued till the tier list drops, but this is just my opinion so far.
Damn I'm hearing Kenshi is good from Danbdab on AIM? WHAT?!?!?! SOMEBODY FILL ME IN!

Great stuff Verse, Dave (and everyone else for that matter), I just can't take enough time right now to read everything...
Anywho,
For Dairou... If i'm playing against a character with a rush move, i'll be defensive for a second (usually hold back and preempt a block). Otherwise
I'll backdash and directly go into Teleport, BD, fireball, BD, tele, BD, slam mixups...None of which would be in that order.
The thing i really like abusing the teleport for is it completely nulls out any combos and projectiles, obviously when timed right.
For Kobra... Since MasterMalone got me hooked on Kali d+3... WOW! You can actually get a free throw when it connects. I can't say it's 100% guaranteed yet, but man, nobody got away from that all weekend!
yeah... not much for now,
i'm actually pretty busy at work today.

Meh, this is probably as old as crap, but Shujinko has a nasty breaker-game going on, his throw results in either a breaker being used, or 46% damage, I think that's really an advantage, since you're pretty much screwed when you're out of breakers vs. Shujinko.
Anyway, I must agree that Darrius is very strong, not top 3 but probably top 5, sure, his first 2 stances aren't that special, but his Gauntlets hurt (throw follow-up). Also, 1,2,3,cs from his 1st stance end in a mid attack, which is always a good thing.

Someone mentioned that Mileena is low tier, if thats the case then I have really been putting the smack down with a low tier character. Her second style is where you want to be as it offers 3 different safe pokes.
These pokes are listed below:
1) Standing 2,2 offers a quick one-two punch and can safely transaition into a throw or sweep.
2) B+2 is a fast three hit punch that pushes opponents back and can be BDC'ed. I like transitioning from the standing 2,2 to this move.
3) Ducking 1 offers an irritating low poke that seems to get most players. two of these on an opponent either forces them to duck where you can start a combo (4,1, u+1, 4,3,cs for 29%) or the oppnent tries to back dash but your last poke holds them in place for a throw.
Mileena's 50/50 is very good and her sweep has good range. A nice trick to catch players off guard in her second stance is to perform a sweep (b+3) and then immediately shoot a Sai Blast. The sweep make players think that you are vonurable and the Sai Blast smacks them in the face when they rush in.
I rarely perfom her special attacks but when the opportunity arrises, her ground roll is an excellent wake up after a fall. try these tactics out and you should make short work of your opponent. I will mention however that you must work harder than your opponent because she lacks big damage combos. To me in this game she represents the "Ibuki" from Streetfighter 3: 3rd Strike, a character that when played correctly can dominate but lacks the overall power to be considered top tier.
Peace
