truth is... MK games lateley have been as stale as old mackerel... like someone said above lol... I was REALLY hopin MK8 would go back to 2-D... or at least build on the Shaolin Monks gameplay... that was a hell of a lot more interesting than any fighter theyve come up w in the last 10 yrs

People, this is the end of the MK series as we know it.

It's also interesting how The Team knows this is an unpopular idea among MK fans... yet they don't care. Lol.

Also, the graphics don't even look realistic. The teaser does show some type of air combat though. The one good thing I've seen so far.

I just have a feeling that Boon "enhancing" the fighting engine and "introducing more" fighting styles is going to be his idea of creating a revolutionary next gen fighter. I expect him to not deliver anything good with this game.

With DA to Armageddon, more stress has been put on the extras and all the side bonuses, maybe this time he actually put some effort into the game mechanics.

I'm not getting my hopes up or anything, but still this is kind of exciting.

I'm not happy with this MK Vs DC concept. I was really hoping for a back to basics MK with new characters, new gameplay. I hope the next MK is the reboot or the story after MKA.

I'll keep an eye on the game to see if it's worth a purchace.

Just cause MK8 is a clean slate, that doesn't mean that MKvDC will be a clean slate. Heck that does not mean when MK10 is out that there will not be old MK fighters appearing in special games.

I hate the idea of MK v DC. Does Scorpion kill Batman? Does Superman kill Kano? Yuck!

Sounds like another quick money grab. I wonder if there will at least be new costumes / looks for the characters or if it will be their old.

The more that I think about it, the more I think speculation is like if I were to ask you; Tell me a good roster for MK vs Street Fighter. Then you told me the answer. That does not mean a MK vs Street Fighter game is coming out.

This game is starting to grow on me, I fuckin hated it at first, but its starting to sound more interesting.

I wouldn't doubt if it technically was in production more than 2 years.
If you think about it, MKA had about a 2 year gap from MKD...
And a lot of MKA was recycled shit. A few tweaks to the gameplay, new animations here and there, Konquest was rebuilt, Motor Kombat, blah blah blah.

If all that took two years, then that's kind of pathetic considering they were able to create a shit load of new things in MKD. (MKDA and MKD also had roughly a two year gap as well). I really doubt MKA was that much of a huge project compared to MKD when the majority of what they needed was already there for them.

I'm willing to bet a fraction of the MK Team were working on MK8 to some extent near the end, or possibly during, the production of MKA. Whether it was concept art, sound effects, or creating models, it's still considered working on it to me.

Gives me more hope.

He didn't lie, they just changed their minds about "super unlockables"they said initially(early MKA) that that would happen but if you paid attention during the development of MKA that changed and I even remember Shawn Himmerick saying that "we decided to have everyone playable, except for 4 characters".........

Im not loosing my hope. I belive in Ed Boon. I a comic fan too, i saw over the years crossovers like marvel vs dc, avengers vs x men etc. and and crossovers games like marvel vs capcom etc... but in the end,the games, comics, all fell in a forgetfulness... and i don't want it for MK, understand?

You know what? I've been thinking about it too and am looking forward to seeing how it turns out at least.

The storyline will be A+ that's guaranteed, at least if Jimmy has done his MK homework.

And if the focus is on gameplay and a reduced roster, that means there should be no characters with duplicate moves and more time will be spent on each individual character and the gameplay overall which makes me happy.

I still dislike the Teen tag, but know why they are doing it.

If they remove fatalities well...that's going to be a drastic change, I can see there being blood though as they have said all along they liked the gears of war look, and I'm assuming the way they have made blood splatter look in gears is what they were referring to.

A replacement for fatalities in this game? Well Marvel vs Capcom had tag team play and super moves...maybe we will see tag team play in an MK game finally and if it's online enabled that could be pretty fun. Maybe they will come up with something flashy to make up for the loss of Fatalities, we all just have to wait and see.

I knew we'd get a crossover game, but maybe this is a stop gap between the next MK game and will be a good way to refine the overall gameplay so the next game after will be great and with less rough edges. At least I hope so.

Still... Street Fighter 4 is going to be one helluva lot of competition for them 'm sure.

Looking forward to seeing what happens anyways.
