Well, the mods seem to have started locking threads with knee-jerk defensiveness, snapping "you would have had ZERO answers without us!"
I'm not looking to get locked again or anything. I would just like to see an OFFICIAL fight night organizer response to the criticism, so you can explain to us and maybe make us understand. Why the fluff questions? Why not ask what EVERYONE wanted to know?:
Orderrealm walk on air - glitch or something more?
Why Stryker, etc, in clouds on menu screen?
Re-enter village?
Are these "codes" we're breaking for real or is it just some nobody messing with us?
etc. etc. etc.
Help us understand. That's all.

Firstly, you must understand that only a few of the staff were actually involved with question selection. I was not among this group, so I had no involvement with Fight Night at all.
I do believe it was handled the best it could be, though I agree the "violence rating" question was not well chosen. However, everyone will feel that way about one question or more. It was impossible for them to please everyone, meaning questions that you would have asked would have differed from another user's set of questions entirely.

Thanks, xProx, but I know there's already tons of threads about our complete disappointment with tonight. It's not so much that the MK team didn't tell us anything (thats kinda their prerogative, even if it sucks), it's that they weren't even asked the things we wanted asked, and they weren't pressed for a real answer by the MKO guys when they were just goofing around.
what i'm looking for is mod response. i'd like to give them a chance to answer our criticism.

Thanks, Crow, for speaking up. I know I came across quite bitchy (as a lot of us are tonight), but its all frustration. Thanks for giving your two cents as a mod. Any chance you can get the guys who DID run the chat/choose the questions to chime in?

That would be highly unlikely at this point. I would imagine they have all decided to sleep at this time. I will attempt to give you all an overview of the Fight Night event:
It was hosted by Scott-Howell and DArqueBishop. I suppose they selected the questions, but I did not see them myself until tonight so I cannot be any more sure than you. They were the only ones allowed to speak, being that they were the hosts, thus no other operator could have asked anything if they had wished. This was done to ensure that the questions that were asked received answers.
As you know, there were 15 selected questions followed by a few randomly selected tonight by the same staff members via MKBot. The other "operators" simply were not deopped, but they were not different than any other regular user while Fight Night itself was ongoing.
I thought the question selection was decent, but again, my views on what should have been asked will obviously differ from your list or their list. I feel some of the more important questions were asked, and the reason other MK games were discussed is because we likely will want to know about those once MK:D's hype dies down. I doubt I would have focused on those, but that is simply my personal opinion. I was satisfied enough.

I agree. I submitted a question, but I didn't choose which ones went through. Seriously, if you guys saw the congestion, you would understand. It got to a point where people weren't even sending in serious requests half the time, but were asking mock questions in response to the previous answers.
If you guys didn't like the results of Fight Night, that's okay. You're entitled to that. But don't treat us like scapegoats. We're not the ones that excluded Super-Unlockables from MKD, and we certainly didn't create the answers you so disdain.

I had no problems with the questions really, my problem is pretty much the responses from the MK team. The half assed answers and constant bullshitting was HIGHLY annoying.

yeah, i mean the bottom line question to the MK developer team is this:
if you're not going to actually answer questions, why bother doing the chat at all? we didnt even ask when and where to find everything. we simply asked things like, "are there more than the 24 listed characters" and they pulled the no...yes...maybe...perhaps...ummm... crap.
if you dont want to answer us, thats fine. just dont put on this fiasco of a chat wher eyou just kick us all in the balls and laugh

I have seen alot of fight night chats and i think this is easily the most disapointed the masses have been by it, usually there have been more positive responses, but i suppose like jonin said you cant please everyone. personally i found that chat hilarious, and it was quite entertaining to read.

Crow I have the absolute most respect for your (all the staff, not just yours specifically) work here at MKO and for giving us the chance of "almost chatting" with the MK staff (I'm aware that it has to be moderated otherwise the place would be full of idiots spamming the chat) but you have to agree that it was basically a waste of time for most of us. The MKO staff knew exactly what we wanted to know and deliberately didn't ask the team what we wanted to know! We didn't want to hear about Shaolin Monks or MK7, we have time for that! We wanted to hear about Deception and almost no real questions were asked about Deception. No one asked about the kombat kodex - even though in another channel people were crying out loud for those questions to be asked -, no one asked about the flying glitch, and most questions were answered ellusively. It's basically one of two: either the MK staff specifically asked the MKO staff not to place any questions they didn't want to answer, or the MKO staff failed miserably in selecting the questions. I just think we the fans desearve to know which one of these options happened since we, the fans, are Mortal Kombat and MK wouldn't be without us. It's just an opinion from someone who has to work today and was up at 2AM to chat with the guys and was presented to one hour of nothingness.
Thank you.

Once again; I thank the MKO staff for making this event possible and for working hard on getting it the best way they could. EVEN THOUGH there were some useless questions, and some useless answers; okey that's true; but I don't think the MKO staff did that on purpose, they picked the ones they thought were the best. Anyways, all in all; I thank them for doing the chat; I just remind everyone: MKO is not responsible for what Boon and the team answer on a chat - And if there are no unlockables or super secrets and some of you get so pissed off that means you bought the game for just the secrets?....then lemme tell ya, NEVER do that; as secrets are always bound to not being in the game.

Mneh. Whoever did select the questions needs to get this shit together. I keep hearing about how long it took to prepare and how much effort went into this. If that's the case you guys got some pretty sorry ass results. Don't get me wrong, I love staying up late to get jerked around (muahaha) and sit through some pretty lame questions.
GG guys. Wasn't a total loss, I mean boon did joke about MK CHECKERS!

I was there in the capacity that I got Ed Boon and the rest of the team onto mIRC and helped with their personal settings (eg, to get them voiced, to disable their PM's, and in some cases, to hide join/part/quit messages from their screens so they would not be distracted). I don't think some people appreciate the thought and planning that went into this. I was actually in Vogel's office with him for most of the chat, but I went around to check on the MK team and see if there was any problems came up. I think the questions we picked were good questions, look at the WQ coffin question. As I had predicted, the MK team didn't even know about this, it was just a weird random bug or glitch (kinda). The Ninja Star question was a great one - probably going to save a LOT of people from wasting their time and looking for stuff that's not in the game. At one point, I had walked into Boon's office and made him answer the question on extra Puzzle Kombat fighters. The fact is, we did forward on questions that you, the fans, had submitted to us. I don't know if it was the questions that some of you were disappointed with, or the MK team's answers - but either way, at least we found out the truth. Even we at the MKO staff didn't know what the MK team would say in regards to Raiden's Staff and other questions raised, but we found out along with the rest of you. Also, as I said earlier, we worked hard to make sure that no problems came up. We kept tight control over the chat to make sure no mods spoke out of turn or asking their own questions they wanted to see, but rather, each one was a fan-submitted question (Well, we did make one exception for Murdoink at one point). Overall, I can't say I blame some people here if they don't appreciate the work, the planning, and the overall thought process that went into this thing because there's no way you could possibly have known. The main reason we wanted to do that chat while we were here in Chicago at Midway's office was to make sure we could take care of potential problems that may have arised, and the fact that we were here helped us to nip them in the bud. Had we all been in our homes, like the last Fight Night, we may not have gotten as good an answer as we have on a lot of these questions. Fight Night 2004 - an overwhelming success!
And by the way, yes we did have fun here too - how could an MK fan NOT have fun while in the MK headquarters? Ed Boon, Tony Goskie, Tim DaRosa, and John Vogel like my comics. Fatality.

Is it possible that you all wanted to ask those questions as well, but were told by Boon not to, because he could not reveal the answers?
Was Midway or the MK Team also involved with question selection? Scott-Howell is not a stupid man in any respect, in any way whatsoever, so the total absence of so many questions we all have was absolutely astounding.

To me the people that are upset about fight night is because the MK team had given almost nothing on how to unlock hidden characters in Konquest. I mean that has been one of the hottest topics since Ed Boon said there were since that MKO interview. The MK team ( by now is should be clear that the MK team buried these hidden characters deep and with the way konquest goes, its going to be a while before anyone finds them) buried these characters deep in Konquest, I don't think they would reveal anything on how to find them just by a simple hint or answer. Hell the Deception isn't even a month old. Fight night questions and answers were pretty interesting and good. There was tons of info about like gamecube's version of Deception a more stuff and answers toward future possible things planned for MK7.

As I said, all the questions forwarded to us (we do not scour the forums for questions to ask) we made sure got answered. The SU was a question we had to ask. The extra renders that had been discovered in Puzzle Kombat needed to be addressed. Glitches like "walking in air on order realm" is just silly. But we asked the WQ Koffin question anyway, because we can see it meant a lot to our users, and that's who we did the chat for. A lot of users do look forward to MK7, and their questions reflect that, so we do have to ask MK7 questions.
We mainly weren't going to waste questions on stuff we knew they couldn't have known about. In one conversation I had with Boon, he didn't know about Reiko's MK4 Game Boy ending (heh). I knew they wouldn't know about the WQ koffin. Do you really think questions about glitches are important? If they didn't know about the glitches, then, you're not really even asking them a question, you are just informing them about different glitches in the game. The purpose of Fight Night is not for us to tell them about what glitches may have appeared. Honestly, it's not like it would even prevent future glitches or anything. What would be the point?

I agree that a lot of those questions were a complete waste. The question about the M rating? Wow. Plus the one about Noob and Sub Zero. Jesus christ. Also disappointed like everyone else is about how the MK team jumped around the questions and how they would say something along the lines of "just make something up" and whatnot. Dissapointed highly.

It was not just a waste of time, but a free plug for MK S&M. This was supposed to for Deception.
Let me ask this. Was the MK Team prepared for any of these questions?
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I thought the walking on air question was very important. This will become the new Final Secret for MKD
