i Agree that killing her would be a dumb ass mistake. i think she is one of the key characters in the story. She runs Edenia, a Realm that like Earth is always under attack. If Edenia gets taken over than Earthrealm is fucked too. Earthrealm and Edenia are like a tag team against the Invasions and Raiden neeeds her to stay alive. I hope that once you get Liu kang, his ending will be kill the dragon king and Rescue kitana.

Have you tryed killing quan chi in konquest mode with kitana, its hard as hell, and i know how to play this game cause i memorize everybodys moves and beat the game on MAX with every fighter.

Kitana's death would be pointless and only cheapen her character, because she would most likely be resurrected. We all like to say dead characters stay dead, but the odds of that philosophy sticking are slim. Especially when regarding a popular character such as Kitana.

Truth is, although Kitana has an important role in the story, her death would have little impact. See storyline-wise, no character is important. Liu Kang's death had no impact. Did the world end after Kang died? Are we all screwed because the "mightiest warrior" was killed by Shang Tsung? No, Kung Lao stepped right in and took his place, and for the most part, people didn't mind. The only fallout from Kang's death was Kitana got depressed, Kung Lao and Raiden got pissed and.....well that's it really. And now Kang is coming back. Hurray. The "Resurrected Character" label is not a badge of honor and I think it should be avoided.
Kitana can die and her role in the story can be taken by Jade or Sindel. Sonya can die and be replaced by Jax. Scorpion can be killed off and be replaced by just about anyone.
It's really a question about how the fans will react. I like Jade and Sindel, but they're not Kitana. And I don't want them to be Kitana. They should be their own characters. Jade and Sindel should reach a point where their appearence in a game isn't followed by "Where's Kitana?"
This doesn't just apply to Kitana but all characters. I KNOW Sonya fans don't want Sonya to die and Jax to take her place. If Sonya were killed off and Jax moved into her place, Sonya fans would be FURIOUS.

Kitana's death wouldn't even succeed on a cheap shock value level. If everyone is predicting Kitana's going to die, where's the surprise? Raiden's supposed death was a surprise. If Sub-Zero or Scorpion were to die, that'd be a surprise.


And I want to make one final note to iownyou and magicmk:
I respect other people's opinions. People are welcome to like who I don't like and dislike who I like, but as long as they respect my opinion. When you proclaim that "Kitana sucks and it's a fact and everybody knows it" you're implying that you know something I and other Kitana fans don't, and we're just too unintelligent to realize it. Well, bad or good news is (I don’t really care), that your dream might come true.

I don’t hate-hate Kitana, I only felt her character was the weakest of all the edenian/outworld females that kept being introduced, especially now, I dislike her a lot.

Mileena has that amazing storyline about being the clone. Her evil is great, and definitely, she has one of the best storylines.

Jade is the mysterious female, no one truly knows where she is, or who she fights for.

Tanya is all about pure evil in disguise. She trickes, she is pure deception.

Sindel is the gothic witch, the pissed Mommy ready to kill.

Sonya (only earth female to date fighting in the side of good) is the original tough female defending earth with her military forces and fighting for the side of good since day 1. She is always ready to kick ass.

I don't like really Kitana, but she's not she worse female fighter in MK : Tanya, Li Mei and Frost are worse than her to me...

Kitana's role Sucks Period. She has stupid ass fatalities, stupid moves, stupid weapons, and her story sucks. I heard that somehow Kitana will be unlockable and in MKD he last game unless she comes back in MK8 back from the dead. I think that it'll be in a few endings or maybe there'll be a ending movie that would be cool. But Many say most sources say that she will Die along with maybe one or 2 more.

I don't want her to die. Why should she? Besides the facts that she fights with great/original weapons, that she looks great and that she has a nice history, her story has kind off a romantic thing with lui kang. Not that romances are necessary/important in MK but, in my opinion, it's cool that there's one couple in the game. Okay, Mileena and baraka once had the idea of ruling the world together, but that picture isnt very romantic...two ugly faces anyway, it's the way i feel about kitana

Actually, the couple of Mileena and Baraka is more romantic due to the very fact they are ugly. The way Mileena portrays this “beautiful” woman, hiding her past under a mask, and falls in love with the only being that understands her pain; is enough to make it a better couple.

We also have Johnny and Sonya love couple. Not only has it been hinted in the games (MKDA) but also, the movies, and all the comics.

Pfft Kitana..... she hasnt had a good storyline since MK3 and hasnt had good gameplay since MK2. I dont absolutely hate her but she is starting to suck a lot. I would be happy if she just sat out a few games and we dont hear from her at all. Then when she does return she will be fresh and everybody will love her again just because she has already made a name for herself as one of the most popular classic characters.
