is that it focused completely on the DA and the DK. It didn't show us exactly how the DK came to be, is he Reptile in a new body? We don't know. It didn't explain how Sub Zero aged so fast even though MKD takes places IMMEDIATELY after MKDA. We didn't see where Liu Kang popped out from. No Kahn, No Scoprion. No special forces. It doesn't explain much, in fact it doesn't answer many questions, it raises many more questions which is unfortunate.
It sets the stage basically for Shujinko (a complete unknown) and the DK (hyped up super boss) while ignoring many other fan favorites. Most of all, it didn't even answer the question regarding the DA themselves. Sure we know they won, and that Quan Chi kicked Tsung's ass but still, we are left once more in limbo regarding whether they are alive or not.
Also the fact that 2 of the most powerful sorcerors and an ex-elder God couldn't defeat DK seems a bit unrealistic IMO. He can't be THAT powerful.
I think that Raiden, Quan Chi and Shang ALL teleported out of there together, to somewhere. They kinda mingled together and disappeared... I think that's where they set the alliance in stone and agreed to help each other, even if it is temporary. This is also a very original an acceptable way of bringing back Liu Kang.
I just hope Konquest and the character endings clear all these things out. FMV endings hopefully as well. Midway made over 100 million dollars from MKDA sales, they could afford FMV endings.

Well, i'm sure Shang, Quan, and Raiden were a bit tired when they were all attacking him at once with there special powers. Plus, Onaga JUST got reborned, so hes all freshed and pumped up, stronger than ever. I love the fact of how powerful he is.
In some cases though, i agree that we shouldve seen a bit more issues, especially with ATLEAST Reptile. Though, my WORD he isnt Onaga. Reptile is Reptile.
IMO i'm glad we didnt see TOO much. We'll be seeing everything in the full intro of MKD when it comes out. We'll be seeing what happened to Kahn, Reptile, Subzero, Raiden, the DA, ETC.

Dark_Noob - I'm afraid that probably was the full intro.
Did we see Kenshi's struggle in the MKDA intro? Or Sub-Zero? Or anyone but the DA, Shao, Liu and Raiden talking to the group? No. We've got Konquest to learn the rest. Not to mention the character's storylines.

I thought this was the FULL intro?

While i'm not doubting you, i must say........dont you think it was just a teaser? I mean, i only think Boon are giving us a little glimpse of whats happening with the DA, and how Onaga is back and such. I honesly dont think he would consider that being the full intro, and giving it to us THIS early. Sources tell me that the full intro shows what happened to Kahn and such; is WAY longer.
But bleh.......IF that was the full intro, despite me being happy with it, i must say that i would be dissapointed that we didnt see other characters and such. I'm pretty sure that isnt the full intro.

I couldn't have said it myself, brother.
The only hopes we have as far as filling the gaps are pretty much Konquest and the character bio's. MK endings ALWAYS clash with one another...
Vigilante 8's endings don't =/...
One thing I'm not big on.. Is how they're doing a whole lot of pre-MK1 stuff. Where the hell were all these new good guys when Shinnok showed up? Also... With Shujinko's konquest in the mix.. It's going to be apparent that a LOT of MK characters don't age.. at all.(??)
Although it may not be that important: How did Tsung and Raiden come back to life all of the sudden??
And why are the elder gods so useless? Do they have some sort of procedure they have to take before they go and lend a hand? Do they have to fill out a load of paperwork before they do anything? WTF is the big deal here?
If the DA was so powerful.. Where were all of Raiden's homies? Why didn't he go and call up Fujin, Kai, and others? Does his wireless-service plan suck really bad or something?

Watch the intro's first 30-35 seconds very closely, I think you will see some of these "Pieces."

I'm fairly certain that wasn't a teaser. It was five minutes long. :/

Ahem... Uhh.. No.
I can count the number of cannon endings in an MK game on one hand. The closest to cannon-endings MK has had, always leave you hanging untill the next game. No thanks!

Well.. we saw them struggle to get up.. so kinda. Other than that, I was hoping we'd see something about Liu appear.

I just think that's being a little nitpicky...you can't expect EVERY little thing to be uncovered in the opening FMV, lol.
Plus...it is deception...they did give you an inkling of how the Dragon King has returned...Shujinko was responsible in some way.
In some way, he inadvertantly revived the Dragon King....it's probably kinda like Ocarina of time, on the N64...how young link inadvertantly opens the gateway for Ganon.
The Konquest mode seems like it will be a pre-cursor to MK: D...maybe kinda similar to how MKM: Sub Zero, helped build up the backstory to MK 4.
In the end of Konquest, you get Shujinko fully trained, but at some point, you inadvertantly set the Dragon King free....now your mission is to defeat the Dragon King....these are things that you can take from the opening FMV...all the other little tidbits, like Reptile, and Liu Kang, can just be discovered in Konquest, everyones endings, etc.

Raiden's sparks and stuff going out has gotta mean something.
But... It said "Raiden was defeated" not killed...
That's my guess too bro. But Raiden gave up his status as an elder god so that he could go into battle. So even if he did return to being an elder god, he wouldn't be allowed to go and take on the DA.
Then again.. even after his self-destruct he is pretty much confirmed to be playable in MK:D. Who knows? Maybe the elder gods decided it would be necessary to bring back Raiden.
Another thing is.. If he IS an immortal.. He wouldn't need to self-destruct. He could just find a weapon and take his time cutting Onaga down to size. Same thing for the DA.
But still.. In the grand scheme of things... Raiden, Shang, and Quan all firing at Onaga and Onaga being just fine.. sounds really cheap. Tired or not, it sounds cheap man. Also.. Raiden self-destructed to try and take out Onaga and it didn't work.
Edit : Heh.. Another thing I noticed : It didn't exactly specify what Raiden sacrificed. We've seen the clips of him in the game... So maybe he teleported out of there?

LOLOLOLOL I just saw that beautifull intro...
Man... Nice Alliance, so now all the mk characters (including these who are dead) will fight :D:D:D (Shao Kahn we`ll be back cause Shang will resurect him) But only one question... if Shujinko Released this beast, that would answer why Scorpion don`t like him, maybe he tried to stop him :D But what`s with Subby... Maybe new Alliance Lin kuei and Dragon King... doh....
I LOVE IT!!

well if raiden did make a deal he probably wanted earths champion to help them so...who can do that? why shang sung of course...except now quan chi doesnt have the amulet to travel realms with...but im sure shang revives lui...
I just noticed something. When Raiden is about to unleash his blast, Shang and Quan huddle up close to raiden and they all turn into lightning, kinda glowing. This leads me to believe that they held on to Raiden who teleported them to safety.
I believe that Raiden, Shang and Quan Chi are the super unlockable characters. Since none of them are on the select screen.

I just noticed this as well.
Although you can't see Shang move towards Raiden, if you freeze the frames you can clearly see Quan Chi stop his flameskull, turn and go toward Raiden just before the blast.
Possibly for the teleport escape.
But how does Onaga get the amulet?
Either the blast made Quan Chi drop it (even if he was teleporting, I mean Raiden had his clothes all torn) or Quan Chi intentionally dropped a fake one in its place.
