I have an Xbox and a GC, but I'm still complaining. Hey I'm one of the few people that hasn't bitched once about any part of this game. I think this game is going to be extrememly enjoyable, and I think Boon and company has done a fucking fantastic job putting this thing together. But just think if you were a PS2/XBOX who cant afford to buy all three consoles. You've been waiting anxiously for this game, knowing that it will be great. The GC version is confirmed, and you think "Oh that's great. They can play too." But then you find out that the GC version has some characters that you won't have. What if these characters were like the new Scorpion and Sub-Zero, hypothetically of course. Just think how cheated you would feel because Nintendo didn't move into the online realm. I just don't think it's fair, that if we want to play as or against EVERY character we have to either fork over ANOTHER 50 bucks, or rent a game we already own for $5-$6.

XBOX preview says new characters. The PS2 preview says new content. So I don't know what's going on here.

My solution for others is to rent the GC for a couple of days and get MKD. I would only do it if I knew what characters/content was on it though.

I hope the XBOX preview is right.

well you have a good point there, but you have to realize that gamecube owners wont be able to enjoy the experience of playing kombat, chess, and puzzle mode online like the xbox/ps2 owners will be able too. It wouldnt be fair if midway just ported Mortal kombat deception to the gamecube without some compensation to the loyal cubers who have to wait a few months to get it.

Oh believe me, it is very unfair to the GC owners who can't play Deception online. But extra characters as compensation? I dunno, seems like you are also cheating the majority of the loyal fans who have also been waiting 2 years to get their hands on a sequel. It's not a fair situation to anyone.

Many many many people will not even play MKD online anyhow, even with Xbox or PS2.
So why compensate the GC gamers with something extra, when a damn lot of people won't have access to online gameplay with Xbox/PS2?

Well I'm glad I'm betting the Cube version. It makes you wonder who these extra characters are. I was expecting something beyond extra characters, but it's cool either way.

1. No one said the GC owners had to wait 6 months. A 2005 release could be Jan. 1, 2005.

2. No one said that we wanted to wait another 6 months.

3. You have no idea about the financial status of every person here, how do you know that they could or could not afford to buy the game 6 months later. Besides, there are many other great games besides Deception that are coming out.

4. Having to buy the same game twice for an extra character is marketing bullshit. Plain and simple.

Personally, I won't play online for 2 reasons:

1. Don't know how...
2. Lazy to learn lol...

The PAL version doesn't even have a confirmed release date for any console yet. So we may have to wait 5 mths after the NTSC release like we had to for MKDA!

Does that mean the PAL Xbox & PS2 users get extra characters too? NO! I doubt it!
