Yeah, the red hair was a must, which sucked, but someone in the game has GOT to have red hair.

Anyway, about Poison Whore, what kind of moves would she have, I never really read the comics.

LOL!

As said before, Poison Whore would mostly use wicked plants as attacks. There were some nice ideas posted in the thread, Tgrant went with more detail on some cool thoughts as well.

She would be a phoenonemal addition to the roster and would be a very fascinating character to explore and use!

Her looks?

I could absolutely envision her dressed in the first picture queve posted in the first post! How beautiful does she look!!
But you could go a bit further, adding leaves and flowers in her hair, which during combat could be knocked out and trail on the floor, it adds another dimension to the new 'Character damage' thing they are doing. Every punch to her face could look great, with half a dozen leaves flying out of her hair with each hit.

As for an alternate, she could maybe have an intricate dress made from vines and plants and have more of a botanical edge to her, maybe darker brighter makeup and bigger, more volumnious hair.

She would look sensational and her looks fits in A LOT better than the vast majority of DC characters.

Special Moves?

Basing it on the alledged six moves per character

1.) Wrap Vines.

Ivy immediately conjures up two vines which spring out and latch onto her opponent, wrapping round them and dragging them towards Ivy, allowing her a free hit.

2.) Venus Trap.

Ivy spawns a Venus fly trap and tosses it at the opponents head. It Swallows your enemies head, gnawing at their face for a couple seconds. The opponent then rips it off.

3.) Power-Plant

Three vines emerge from the floor beneath the opponent and swing the opponent into the air and slam them back to the ground a few times, then slither back into the floor.

4.) Lethal Spores

Ivy flicks a cloud of intoxicating spores into the air from both hands, upon contact with the opponent they cause them to clutch at their neck and choke, then fall to their knees, coughing away. Giving Ivy an oppurtunity to spring an attack

5.) Buds of Death

Ivy grows half a dozen purple buds from her palms and chucks them towards her opponent, as they travel towards them, they open up, revealing purple and yellow petals. Upon contact they explode, damaging the enemy with their poison spray.

6.) Flower Prowler

Ivy spawns a large unkown plant, covered in large thorns on her foot. She kicks the plant towards the enemy, the kick causes the plant to burst, sending a large array of thorns to embed into the enemy.

Throw. -

Grabbing the opponent then shoving them back slightly, Ivy unleashes two thick, thorned vines from her arms which spiral around her opponent, then contract, crushing them momentarily, once releasing them, she knocks them back with one of the vines, sending them to the far end of the arena.

Fatality -

Ivy, walks over to her opponent and kisses them. The opponents face starts to turn a pale green and their veins pop up and turn purple. Their entire body starts to convulse and they drop to the floor. Purplish blood then starts to pour from their mouth, screaming in pain. Vines begins to split through their body and slither acorss the arena floor. The opponent stops moving and Ivy does ehr victory pose. FATALITY.

I know her fatality is a bit blah, but I will elaborate on it further. Potentially adding an additional fatality, which will be better once I think about it.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

But I think now that Catwoman seems to be in the game (which I'm ecstatic about) I think Poison Ivy's chances have fallen from unlikely to none unfortunately! sad

I rather have her then cat woman.
While Cat Woman is big with Batmans story, this game is supposed to be MKvsDC not MK vsBatman and Gotham city. And I know poison Ivy is in Batmans storyline. But I just think Poison Ivy would be a better fit then Cat Woman.Plus she has so many powers to use then Cat Woman does.Oh well, maybe we will get another KAF mode where we can make who we wanted from either side.

I loved the extra details you added. It would definitely be cool to see small portions of plants or flowers and leaves fall from her hair, specially in critical blows.

So far we’ve seen that the amount of blood is quite little...kind of poor actually.

Is that really all the blood a T-rated game can deliver? I know it looks kind of more realistic, but I just feel its too little.

Agreed.

And yes, I love the dress-made-of-plants idea. Even her skin color could be made to fit the botanical edge you speak about, give her a sort of super pale skin or something pale mixed with dead-yellow or something.

Bushy hair would rock as an alternate, as long as she has long sleek hair in her primary. grin

I loved them all.

Buds of Death and Flower Prowler caught my attention the most, since those style of attacks haven’t really been mentioned for her. It would be a nice implementation and could look awesome visually (as the Venus trap would as well).

As for your throw idea, it rocks! Assuming she is given many plant powers though, it would be cool to see her do something semi-acrobatic+plant attack for a throw. Don’t you think?

Fatality:

AWESOME!

I really like the detail and effect, specially towards the end with the vines coming out and all. Its wicked! Problem is, we’ve seen Kitana and Tanya kissing for doom already.

Maybe she could force the victim to eat some sort of powder or seeds of even flowers that cause that effect, instead of having Ivy kissing them.

Would work well imo.

Cant wait to hear your other suggestion. Great job man!

I told my friend that you guys are all up on Ivy as a character. He's a HUGE Batman fan (probably the biggest I know) and he laughed...and laughed...and laughed.

Ivy isn't a top 5 batman villain, much less a top 5 DC villain. the chances of her making it into the game are zilch, and I'm glad. She'd be a waste of space imo.

Ivy would make an amazing edition to the cast. She, by far, has the most unique look and her toxins, chemical secretions, plant control and poisonous abilities would work really well in MK. Not only that but she is the most beautiful character DC has. As for fighting, in her 1997 comic titled Poison Ivy it showed that Ivy studied martial arts to a competent level( although it was never revealed what style).

As for those of you who wouldn't want her in:

I like Catwomam though, but yeah, Ivy would definitely rock.

Out of context, that's a backhand slap... Not exactly a display of the epitome of fighting prowess.

in context; that's Ivy springing Catwoman pretending to be under her influence. With her cover blown, Catwoman promptly unleashes a devestating beating on Poison Ivy, stopped only by a living vine -- which is easily sliced by a batarang.

As per her MO, already well discussed; Ivy is saved by a controlled Superman. Why? Because Poison Ivy is weak, anything but a fighter, and much more inclined to manipulate pawns.

Infinite Wars readers can probably look forward to a recap of Ivy's narrow escape from embarassing defeat as things catch-up to a normal schedule.

My point is that she is competent in an martial arts style as said in her entitled comic, take this:

There are comics that depict Abraham Lincoln as a competent martial artist. As with Poison Ivy, this is generally not considered a standard depiction of the character.

That may be so, but she's a great character and more importantly an awesome villain! With her toxins, posionous secretions, control over flora as well as the ability to create new species-she's such a unique and beautiful character, I'd love to see her in any medium really including MK vs DC! Also she can fight, with her moves mainly consisting of plant manipulation and poisonous chemical secretions she'd make such an intresting and fun addition to the cast not to mention a gorgeous one! I can see her counter-part being Mileena or Kitana.

Well said! I love the pics you've posted btw.

Poison Ivy can truly kick some serious as*, but well, considering its a VS DC game and not VS Batman...Im guessing the Joker might be the final Batman character confirmed. *sigh*

Poison Ivy would be fantastic. Period.

There is no way she's making it in this game. She's just one of Batman's many villains. We already have Catwoman in, and we'll most likely get The Joker. Two Batman villains is enough imo

Listen, Ivy is a great character, but she's not gonna be in this game. Let's say that this game has 13 characters on each side (probably less, but just for the sake of the argument let's say 13.) That means that there will probably be six villains. Catwoman, The Joker, Lex, Deathstroke, Darkseid, Cheetah and Doomsday/Brainiac are the top choices to make it in the game as villains. I don't think Ivy will make it in over any of those characters.

I beg to differ. How can people want the Joker in the game, someone who has just as much if not less fighting skill than Ivy, but want to pass up a character than would bring something new and fresh to the game?

I don't need to go into reasons why she should be in because those reasons have been stated and quite well I might add. Just because Ivy is not known for her fighting prowess, she has most certainly had her share of battles and kicked her fair share of ass, including Batmans.

Ivy has so much potential. Her special moves could be the best the game has the offer. For instance, everyone (almost everyone) has some sort of special that gets them a free hit. Sub has his freeze, Sindel has her sonic scream, Scorpion has his "Get over here". It'd be neat to see Ivy use her pheromones in this situation. She could blow a kiss, sending the pheromone dust into her opponents face which puts them in a hypnotic state, completely under Ivy's power. She lures the enemy to her and BAM! perfect opening for a vine smacking combo lol.

But anyway, I am still holding on to hope that she is in there some where. Maybe she is, maybe she isn't. But they'd be stupid not to include her. As far as DC villians go, Ivy IS one of the most recognizable and beloved, despite what some others have said trying to make it seem as if she isn't an important villian of the DC universe.

She isn't really an important villain, and she isn't relevant enough to be put in the game. I really don't want the Joker either, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is in it.

I really think 2 Batman characters is enough

I love Poison Ivy and I think It'd be cool to have her in the game, but yeah, with Batman, Catwoman, and possibly/ most likely the Joker, I don't think she'll make the cut....

BUT...didn't Midway say something about creating downloadable arenas and characters for MK vs DCU? If that's the case, maybe if enough people want her in, we could get Ivy as a character. It worked for getting Khameleon in MK:A on the Wii.

The Joker is one of the most iconic villains in the history of comics, better than Doom, Lex, Goblin, Magneto, Cheetah, Darkseid, Doomsday, etc. If he's not in this game, then MK fucked up badly.

Ivy is just a villain
