MK already fucked up badly, and since so far most of the DC characters are heroes I'm starting to question whether or not we'll see the Joker at all.

... It's a stock standard convention of fiction for heroes to out number the villains. Is this really a shock? At this rate the children might actually start to understand why MK is the redheaded exception...

The Joker is one of the most iconic villains in the history of comics, better than Doom, Lex, Goblin, Magneto, Cheetah, Darkseid, Doomsday, etc. If he's not in this game, then MK fucked up badly.

Ivy is just a villain

Exactly. Batman villains/ antagonists that are considered of a higher calibur than Ivy are: Joker, Catwoman, Two Face, Rhas Al Ghul, Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow, Clayface... etc.

Ivy just doesn't belong. If this was a 64 character battle royale like MKA, then maybe...but in a 24 character game? no. Chosing Ivy is being pedantic. It's not seeing the bigger picture, which is, that this game needs to represent the biggest, best and most important characters from DC and MK.

Well since this is the Ivy thread. Thought I'd share this. A fan video of Poison ivy (not by me) Batman & Robin was a crappy movie, but the upside was IVY! She was the only good thing that came out of it all. Uma's flamboyant & glamorous portrayal of Ivy was fantastic in every way, shape and form. IMO. Her costumes were so beautiful! her makeup divine! and her hair styles were super cool. Ivy lovers, sit back and bask in the glory of the Goddess.

So very true.

I can just picture her fantastic potential in the game, but like many have said, I guess with 2-3 Batman characters, it isn’t likely we’ll see her...even though she would fit better then most characters anyways.

Cool vid! I also loved Uma the most from that crappy film, even if she overacted in some scenes.

Btw, in case you didn’t know, embed vieos are not allowed in MKO because it slows the server of other users. You should edit your post and add a link for the video to be seen from youtube or the source you got it from.

It’s the rules. smile

She would be a big splash of color in an otherwise fairly dark game, and that would be refreshing. And she would fit very well. But it's very unlikely. Maybe DC will be pleased with this release and she can be in a future fighting game of some sort?

I'm pleased with most of the DC characters thus far, so I dont' see how they fucked up as someone said because they don't like "DC characters".....

But PI would be cool to see, she's just not the fighter type so overall she doesn't appeal THAT much to me

BTW< @ Subman if Joker's not in the game you're wrong dude, that's not Midway's fault it's DC's fault...he's a DC character, thus it's DC's choice whether or not they want the Joker in the game, don't blame Midway, Blame DC for that one. Midway is in charge of MK characters, DC in charge of DC....

Out of context, that's a backhand slap... Not exactly a display of the epitome of fighting prowess.

in context; that's Ivy springing Catwoman pretending to be under her influence. With her cover blown, Catwoman promptly unleashes a devestating beating on Poison Ivy, stopped only by a living vine -- which is easily sliced by a batarang.

As per her MO, already well discussed; Ivy is saved by a controlled Superman. Why? Because Poison Ivy is weak, anything but a fighter, and much more inclined to manipulate pawns.

Infinite Wars readers can probably look forward to a recap of Ivy's narrow escape from embarassing defeat as things catch-up to a normal schedule.

As promised.

I certainly appreciate the [circumstantial] fact that Poison Ivy's thrown a kick here and there in her forty year print history. It just doesn't undermine the well established definitive depiction of a character who rarely engages in violent physical exchange, and is usually swiftly dispatched when that is the case.

Keep on trucking, though.
