my 2nd fav cyborg (smoke>sektor>cyrax), i love his teleport uppercut and his compactor fatality is just 2 funny.Also it looks like he's shaping up well for MK:A, seems he can only get better.

I tell you the truth, I love Sektor's new look in MKA. Also, his role as a projectile specialist/ mobile rocket launcher was something completely original in my book. His teleport punch was not unique, as Smoke had it too, but it gave him another option in a fight.
When I got back into Mortal Kombat after about 5 years of not playing it, Sektor was the first person I wanted to learn.

Gameplay wise, he's my favorite of the three cyborgs. MK3 was his time to shine. 8/10

eh...I guess he looks better in Armageddon. I think i'll like him better in the next game.

I originally thought he was a 7.0, but then I bumped him up to 8.0 cuz any deadly fighter who openly admitts that he is gay deserves a whole extra point.
Nah... I would say he is a 6. I didn't really like his movesin past mks. That uppercut with the numbers looks real nice though. It would be cooler if it was his blood and they came spilling out every time he got hit. And cassleman... your whole post is a joke.... except for the word flaming, with a capital F ! lol

I think sektor is overrated by most people. He still good but not 10/10 good or even 9/10 good. Story is ok i think it will be more intresting in armageddon espically if noob gets involved some how. I still think hes the worst cyborg but still a good character. Always had nices moves n fatatlies but i was never good with him lol. 8/10

Although Smoke is, will be, and has always been my fave of the cyber-ninjas - nay, my fave MK character - Sektor has risen from something just above monotony to the level of serious threat. Practically everything about him has improved over time.
For starters, the obvious fact that Cyrax and Smoke each regained their soul, or a part thereof. Sektor did not. We learned from his MK3 bio that while Cyrax was selected for automation, and Smoke was forced into it, Sektor volunteered out of loyalty. The fact that he hasn't regained an iota of humanity could suggest that not only did he volunteer out of loyalty - he could perhaps have wanted a cybernetic form all along. Or perhaps it was the fact that he volunteered as opposed to Cyrax and Smoke, the latter having been unwilling in the first place, and perhaps reluctance on Cyrax's behalf, that eventually caused their processes to go wrong.
We learned from MK:DA that Sub-Zero beat Sektor for control of the Lin Kuei and medallion, and from MK:TE that the battles he had fought caused him to malfunction. So what does he do? Decides to build his own damn army, the Tekunin, out of Japan. And he apparently succeeds - we've just found out that he's got his own warship!
I always hoped Sektor would come to embody the movie archetype of the cyborg with an agenda of logical evil. My wish was granted, and that makes me incredibly happy.
To boot, his new appearance simply kicks a whole lot of ass. I was hesitant about the character sketch we saw, but the end result is fine by me. Now let's see a render!
If he's got one drawback, it's that he seems to have lost his homing missile. But I can overlook it.
This is the second 10/10 I'm handing out. I doubt there will be a third.

9.5/10 a great character i prefer cyrax to sektor but i'm not denining the character's obvious value

i didnt like him much in MK3 UMK3 or MKT (but his throw was cool) but now hes got this tekunin' story and special forces aswell as the lin kuei against him, i think he can improve alot in armageddon!
hmm...................6.9/10 i woulda given him a 7 but he's was just a pallete swap in the old days so...........

3/10 and let me tell you why.
1., Lack of complete originality.
Evil red cyborg, robot or mechanic feature entity. OVERUSED in the 80's gimmick-basing movies, novels everything. Sektor is even worse, he represent all the overused ideas that explain his "evil"ness.
-goes haywire. This is reminiscent of human insanity, to be precise: total
loss of concious thinking, irregular and irrational behavior. Wow, how
can a designer be so blatantly stupid?
(reference: HAL, features red colors, and insanity. Maximilian from the
Voyage to the black hole. Red combat droid with missiles and similar
bulk features like Sektors earlier MKArm. design plan! Ghastly resemb-
lance)
2., overused and unoriginal weaponry
Wow, missiles grew old -like in the early 90's. Flamethrowers plus his
gadgeteering like the Predator, obvious inspiration, but as it turned out,
rather ripoff. Haha the funny thing is, that if asektor is bearing a seriously
unthoughtful craploads of missiles, a single negative electronic impulse
would destroy him at will. Brains use them. Connecting a brain to a lot of
explosives would certainly end up as a smash-boom hit. Aside that, Sek-
tors weaponry apart from his emchanical extra limbs in his shoulders are
unispired, impossible, and utterly idiotic. Worse than Jax's machine gun.
3. crap and incoherent plot + cliches.
...if they go Hollywood cliche style at least do it right. There is a complete
mess around the horrid mk4 plot, where Cyrax ends up in a loop accor-
ding to each games cinemtaics (plus, leave it that the watcher haven't
read or known the plot to begin with). Sektor is red. red is more appea-
ling because it is a baase color and thus easier for our receptors to pick
up. Also it is a "warm" color that makes it non-irritating to the eye under
normal light conditions and even in harsher ones. Evil robots are always
painted red...Jesus, at least I would used him as silver with red stripes
or something like that (again Maximillian from Black Hole, the enemy
mech in Robot Jox, Terror Drones in RA, Imperial Elite in SW...liost goes
on).
Sektor lack anything worthwhile, and unless they really expand on him as a thinking entity and not as a cyborg, he will remain the turd he is.

sektor is my fav cyborg winning a 9/10

One of the worst, most boring characters in MK. Cyrax and Smoke outclss and outshine him every department.....and they're pretty bad themselves.

He should defeat Sub-Z this game yet not kill him for some reason and have him survive Armageddon please.

I prefer Cyrax but it's always nice to have sektor around. Good character.
