My god. How could they ruin Kitana like this. She had so much potential. Design wise shes been great (MK2) to awful (MK3) to urgh! (MKG) to ok (MKDA) Her long hair is excellent but her clothes have sucked! Her face hasn't looked well since 1996 and only in MKDA did her fans get some proper design. Shes quite a shaky character in terms of design. Storywise shes sucked for far too long. Its just been so boring, it feels like they haven't been trying at all, especially since she has so much potential. I hope this improves. Fighting, she was the embodiment of grace in MKDA. Too bad she stunk. She needs to deal out more damage. She needs mids in Eagle Claw. She needs improvements, big time. She has some of the greatest styles in the game. Don't waste them. Kitana was brilliant but has suffered a major fall fom grace. MKDA seemed to be trying to make ammends but what happens? Along comes MKD with a whole new batch of problems. Either fix Kitana or let Mileena at her.

She's just kind of effortlessly cool. The badass princess.

She is a cool character and she kicks ass in all of her games, especially in MK2. Ima give her a 10.

Amazing in all the MKs (never played MKG though.) she's been in besides MK2. That's why she didn't get the 9. Stoyline isn't that great.

Kitana-
Her inconsistent gameplay is really starting to bug me. I loved her back when she first showed up in MKII. She was unstoppable. Then in UMK3/MKT, she sucked. Then she returned to kicking ass in MKG. Then went right back to sucking in MKDA. **sigh** But she, Jax, and Mileena are still always one of my favorites to play as.
Storyline: I think she's probably one of the deepest, most interesting, and most developed character in the series. However, I think her time is pretty much up. Her storyline should end with MKA as I don't see to many new levels that they can take it without dragging her through the mud.
I love Kitana, but she's getting kind of boring. Give her a good send off in MKA.

Kitana: 10/10 One of my favorites.
- Killer assassin
- Royal princess
- Commander of an army
- Possible future ruler of Endenia
In Armageddon she'll have tons of things to deal with:
- Since under Onaga’s control, what mental effects will this have on her.
- Major enemies: Shao Kahn manipulated her big time. Mileena won’t ever leave her alone. And Goro sided with Shao Kahn, this will probably break the alliance he had with her.
Too bad her fighting styles needed major work in MKDA.

Better than Mileena, and her story has room for improvement. Her fight styles suit her personality but she suffers a bit gameplay wise, love the steel fans as weapons, gives her an edge and originality. Her design is good but a change is needed. 8.5/10.

She is a great character. Great in MK2 and UMK3, but suck ass in MKDA! I've never cared a great deal for her story either.

Personal favorite since MK2. In my opinion, the best storyline and one of the most interesting characters in Mortal Kombat. And best looking. Always enjoy using her, even if tier-wise she goes up and down.
She should either retire in Armageddon or evolve. The "princess" schtick has run its course and her story's in a position to end with good closure. If she returns after Armageddon, she needs something new.
Still wuv her though.

Kitana is without a doubt the definition of a true mortal kombat character. She basically can't trust anyone, her story has always been interesting, especially when she first came out. I give her a 10

Oh, dear me.
Kitana is arguably my favorite character (Li Mei, and recently Jade, are trying hard to take that position).
When MK2 came out, she was my second favorite character, right behind Sub-Zero. She was very, very attractive looking, a great fighter, and how an amazing and complicated story.
MK3 saw her get weaker, her story get a little more fleshed out (though, I preferred people wondering if she was good or bad), and her visual appeal start to diminish (where was the long hair and simple assassin outfit?)
After that, she just lost appeal and lost it fast. She got pretty ugly later on (looking more like J-Lo rather than the sexy, ravishing Americasian from MK2), and simply not letting her hair down. Her outfits got uglier, her play style got harder to use, and her story just got stale almost as fast as Scorpion's.
Her very "forced" love interest with Liu Kang certainly didn't help.
Her best moments were when she was in her assassin days in MK2. She was confident, sexy, down-to-earth, brutal yet beautiful, and very gray on her own morality. She become a stereotype after that.
However, those fond memories from MK2 remain strong (and those sexy renditions of her in the Malibu comic as well), and that helps to balance out my discontent with her more recent appearances.
She gets a 10/10 from me.

Story's always been strong, but she's just been getting steadily worse as a playable character since MKII. It's like they're subconsciously toning her down.

Wow, XiahouDun84. For a person who wrote an entire fan-novel about Kitana (a pretty good one, by the way), I'm surprised you didn't give her a 10/10!
Anyways, Kitana... is my favorite character in Mortal Kombat. I've been saving my 10/10 just for her.

You guys pretty much covered her already, but she ranks up there with Liu-Kang and Sub-Zero as the greatest heroes in Mortal Kombat.

I really don't get why people love the MKII outfit so much. It's very ugly. Her UMK3 costume was great.
