90% is a lot. i'd say like...75% TOPS. baraka and the tarkatans would make great NPCs as someone said earlier in the week, they're great canon fodder.

I actually thought his MKSM was his best look. Baraka is basically a human with some spikes on his head and two blades that can come out of his arms. How is that challenging for Midway?

right but baraka can make the blades come in and out when he pleases 2 and if deathstroke made the cut and he uses his sword 80% of the time they could more then defintly put baraka in this game and liek he said use them in speical moves EDIT: this was to icebaby's thing she said on page one and two im not sure how to qoute people sorry abotu that :)

I agree with the lot of folks who say that Cage and Reptile are the highest candidates to make it on the playable roster due to the slight hints given at the already confirmed characters and their relationships to possible NPCs in the story.

Also If you look at the compared slots on each side, it appears that there are two females that will take up a slot. For MK we have Sonya and Kitana representing the females and on the DC side both Wonder Woman and Catwoman are representing. I'm sorry to say but I don't think that Midway will be revealing any more playable female characters.

This brings me over to Cage and Reptile and their relationship to the other confirmed characters in the game thus far. From what I understand in the story, you will be playing as many different characters and in the story there will be NPCs. Let's look at Liu Kang, it is a very high chance that Liu Kang will be interacting with Kung Lao in this game, so I believe there is no need for him to fill in a character slot because of his relationship to the already confirmed Liu Kang.

I look at the confirmed characters as links to other characters in the MK universe. With Kitana I am willing to bet a testicle, (just kidding!) that she will more than likley interact with Mileena in a cut scene, and she is best paired in comparison to Catwoman. Kitana also has Jade and Sindel who she can run into while in the game.

Jax, Sonya, and Kano I feel are all included in this game because they are not only iconic but I see them as a package, possibly in the story all three of them will be working together with the Outworld Investigation Agency with Kano being the transported prisoner who is forced to cooperate. I feel that Jax and Sonya are appropriate fits in this type of game due to the DC universe possibly fitting in as a new realm in the MK universe.

With these examples you can be sure to expect a confirmed character to run into a character that ties into their own plots, the only two characters that are left out of the loop are both Cage and Reptile.

With, Sonya occupied with Kano and the DC universe where will there be room for Cage to fit in with a cutscene? If Liu Kang spends his time with Kung Lao and Kitana, and Raiden with the DC universe and possibly Fujin and Shao Kahn, the iconic character Johnny Cage will be shafted. That's why I feel he will be included in the roster to have a fitting place in the game. Not only that but every single playable character in MK1 has been confirmed so far except for him. Shaolin Monks hints to him being playable as well because he had a very good supporting role in that game and it was recent. Developers have not forgotten about him I feel.

Now with Reptile, it is true he is the first hidden character in an MK game, and some would be thinking about Shang Tsung possibly working together with Reptile. But with Shang Tsung being such a key character in MK, why would he be dealing with his former body guard when he has the likes of Quan Chi, Goro, Kahn, and the good guys to be up his ass. Reptile I feel has his own story to follow and with him, he can cover other ground with NPCs who could be other henchmen of Shao Kahn. I'm betting Reiko is making an apperance as an NPC, due to all the retconning of him being a servant under Kahn.

It just makes a fitting approach, Baraka I think will be included as a key character but just not playable. If the game is involved in Outworld chances are the DC characters are going to have their hands full with moving through planes of Tarkatan mutants in Outworld. I

Im pretty sure that Boon didnt want MK vs DCU to be the "Dark and brooding" game at all....how would you expect it to be. In all actuality MK VS DCU was an idea that they got the chance to run with. The next MK Exclusive game is where we will see the amped up blood, gore, and everything else we enjoy about Mortal Kombat. I honestly believe that this game is kinda a way for midway to stall until the movie comes out in 2010, considering they past few mortal kombat games have been released in 2 year incriments, it just makes sense....but anyways i totally have to go with Reptile and Mileena... I personally would love to see Reptile back in his glory days as a ninja, and Mileena is just the most kick ass female Mortal Kombat has, plus shes a villain, cant get better than that. =]

if they don't run out of time as they so often do. i'd rather they focus on making this game good and give it a good foundation so they can either use it for MK9 where they don't have to split the roster.

Dude, he flat out said: "Reptile is not in this game." It doesn't get any clearer than that. Don't grasp at straws.

It's between Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Baraka, Kabal and Quan Chi in my mind. Those last two are included because the latter is very popular with the MK team and the former just because it's hard to "mirror" any MK character with the Flash. Kabal is a long shot because he only has one super speed move... his character is not based on speed, so really he's just there as a token MK3 character.

Mileena won't be in because the final two DC characters are almost definitely not going to be female.

well does a girl HAVE to be matched up with a girl. i mean that's stupid. not saying you have a point and you're probably right but i just hope the MKTeam is going along that line of thought.

It's way more presentable if all males are faced off with males and all girls are faced off with girls.

that's dumb from the get go MK has had women fighting men. same thing for DC so there's no point in seperating them now.
