Honestly? Joker uses weapons in combos and specials, so why can't Baraka do the same?

well because baraka's arm blade knife thingys are a little more up close and personal. i don't think they'd be able to implement them in a way that'd get them a T rating. mainly with fatalities.

as much as i like reptile johnny cage has a better chance that and if reptile does get in imo the game will have ninja mania cuz there is already 3 ninja type characters and it would make sense if johnny made it

Yea, I want Baraka in this game but the problem is how he'd use his blades mainly for his fatality and raiden is confirmed.

You seem to be missing my point. Joker may somehow use weapons for specials, but he doesn't have weapons that are physically attached to him. How are they going to have Baraka slice someone up with little blood coming out of his opponent. That would make no sense whatsoever if he attacked someone but yet just a pinch of blood came out. No, Baraka would not make a perfect fit into this game.

Gotta disagree, this game isn't THAT dark and serious. Plus Jonnhy Cage was a serious character in MK 1 and MK 2, the 2 games they are focusing on. If you would speak about the Jonnhy Cage from the movie, I would agree til a certain extent. He was the funny guy of the movie. But still I would disagree because like I said..this game isn't THAT dark and serious.

i agree with both Icebaby and skillz one how the hell would baraka make over cage his story doesnt have depth other than his hate for mileena and he pretty much serves the more evil guy o and another thing what would his fatality be huh not bloody like it normally is . two reptile imo is lizard ninja again he is just another pawn and if does get over cage so what ur going to do victory dance vash

Cage and Kung Lao, please! I can't believe neither of my two favorties are gonna make the cut.

The only characters with a realistic shot are:
1) Johnny Cage
2) Reptile
3) Mileena
4) Kung Lao
5) Baraka

Long shot possibilities:
1) Noob (He was in MK1 as the original Sub-Zero, and appeared in MK2)
2) Kabal (He is a speedster like Flash)

If you really believe that JC will not be in the game, then you clearly haven't been paying attention to the trends of the MK roster. They are picking the most RECOGNIZABLE characters they can. Johnny Cage has been a mainstay major character throughout the entire series. People who don't know much about MK know JC!

In fact so far every MK character they picked has been in the first MK movie. The only major characters from the movie who haven't appeared are Johnny Cage and Reptile (Shao Kahn will be the boss and Goro is likely to be left out for body proportion reasons- unless they decide to add a sub-boss).

Therefore my prediction is that JC and Reptile will be the final two spots.

I expected Reptile but Baraka? Sure I love the character but it's T, if it was M then maybe but....well as long as they don't make him suck I guess it's alright.

I'm thinking Reptile is in, but as a secret/unlockable character.

I also believe that the T rating will play a role in who has made it as some have already said. I'd give Johnny Cage the nod over Baraka if the rating is indeed a factor.

You know with all the crap theories people come up with on the board, this is one of the rare ones that make sense.

This whole notion that the "T" rating makes a difference is garbage. Seriously, people is The Joker, Deathstroke, or any of the MK characters "T" approved characters? Of course not. Also if you look at this game, this is the most violent and dark Rated "T" game I've ever seen. Get that silly thought out of your heads. Baraka is possible, but JC is FAR MORE LIKELY, not because he's "T" approved but because he's more well known.

I personally feel that Johnny Cage will definately make the final cut and I have a good reason to believe so. First of all Ed Boon said that if we think of any MK characters that are ICONIC, we can basically guess the roster ourselves. Based on the MK characters that were confirmed so far, he has proven his word. Maybe only a few characters were surprizingly included over other potential icons but like it or not, they're still ICONIC. *Clears Throat* Jax and Kano.

No offense to the fans of those two. Anyway, with that said, and with only two spots left to fill, I say Johnny Cage cus if you just think of the Theme song for the movie you get:
Kano (confirmed)
Lui Kang (confirmed)
Raiden (confirmed)
JOHNNY CAGE (possibly)
Scorpion (confirmed)
Sub-Zero (confirmed)
Sonya (confirmed)
and then... MORTAL KOMBAT!

Now that only leaves one more spot to fill. I personally would like to see Kung Lao, but like a lot of fans said, we already have Lui Kang who is a Shoalin Monk. However lets not forget that both Jax AND Sonya are in and there are both Special Forces agents. So Kung Lao still has a shot.
Honestly though, I think Reptile would get that last spot for the simple fact that he was the FIRST hidden character ever in the whole series. Plus he's in very HIGH DEMAND as human Reptile of course, and I'm pretty sure Ed Boon knows this already. I mean out of all people, how can he not know?
Only time will tell though...

Think really hard on what you just wrote... I doubt that they're going to have another female in game. If Wonder Woman is the next character to be in, there's no way that MK is going to include another female. That wouldn't even things out at all.
