Isn't this game supposed to be dark? This idea is honestly a joke and it would be an even bigger joke if the MK team decides to do this. No offense Kombat.

What exactly do you think "dark" means?...

I don't think there's anything about off-the-shelf clothes that clash with so-called "darkness."

The real issue here, I think, is the fact that it's counter intuitive design.
Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Diana Prince... The 'secret identity' is about blending into the anonymity of the mass. Even a Bruce Wayne - a public figure - fullfils expectations that make him effectively hidden in plain sight.

Mortal Kombat has always followed a superhero school of design based upon instant recognition. Even characters like Stryker, that have been geared toward mundanity, have still pieced together a casual dress with bold design and instant recognition in mind.

That level of mundanity doesn't really have a place in the fantasy of Mortal Kombat.

Let's not start a riot here people, as we are all entitled to our opinions.

I've already stated how I felt on the matter, so I don't see why I need to continue talking about it. So I guess thats why im a cop-out. =/.

If I keep on wasting time with you will you take that back? because I don't want this kind of reputation among the community. I don't want people thinking im a cop-out.sad

Some people call forums discussion boards.
Your opinion was vague and unfounded. Conventional wisdom is to elaborate in response, rather than having a panic attack over discourse and trying to score cred points with faux cynicism in the absence of a good argument...

Discourse needn't be feared, but if you want to play name calling, I've got plenty of time before lunch to call you a poo-poo head.

Or how about you two quit whining like little children about people's opinions or who's a cop-out when all you have to do is ignore what the other person has to say? Seeing how there's way too much heat wilding up in these threads, there's no point to continue to argue about opinions.

My opinion was vague because I don't feel the need to fully explain myself. It was probably unfounded to you but I really don't give a shit. Thats why I don't care to explain myself to you. If you think thats a cop-out thats fine. Could care less man. Im not the only one being cynical here...

I don't recall calling you any names btw. Except implying that your a retard but that was on a different issue.smile

(Cop-out is a verb, guys...)

Do you have an opinion on design sense?
You could've dropped a little on-topic convo in there for max brown points.

I actually made my opinion earlier in the topic, feel free to use your eyes next time before you start saying that I need to stick to the topic. Unfortunately for you, making opinions on this site shouldn't happen if you're going to nag about one guy's opinion. Seeing how they are entitled to their own, and seeing how you two are still nagging on about something, why not you two stop wasting space and actually move this fight somewhere where we all don't have to scroll down even further to read one's opinion about the actual topic iteself... dur.... it's so easy even a caveman can do it.

Speaking of cavemen, neither of you have terribly elaborate opinions.

Am I to take it you don't have more of an opinion than 'they should do it'?... No dangers of an actual discussion, then? Just one sentence "opinions" and then lots of getting defensive?

I'd like to think it would be a pretty interesting argument that justifies a man in a suit and tie, or a sweater and slacks in a Mortal Kombat game.

Either way thias thing goes, the idea sucks.

It already sucked having Cage fight in his red carpet suit. Why in the hell would I want to fight as Clark Kent?

It would be kind of stupid looking... especially with some one like Clark Kent in his nerdy business suit with his nerdy 4-eyed look.

Maybe as downloadable content...

Most likely won't happen, but, Superman could possibly have his cyborg form as his alt in MK vsDC.

Why must we be limited to two costumes per character? Why not three or four, including secret identity outfits?

I'm not trying to be an ass, but if they did that, no matter the amount of costumes, people would complain about the Secret Identities.

Just for the fun factor/fan service , I can't see the problem with it. It would be kinda neat.

In reality , It wouldn't quite work...These are supposed to be *secret identies*. Yes , as readers of the comics , we all know their alter ego's , but within the context of this game/story , they should probably not be fighting as Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne.

Also , Wayne would still need to wear his utility belt. Sure , he'll still be agile but I hope that his moveset consists of some of his gadgets. Would Wayne (and similar superheroes) lose certain moves if they were in their secret identy outfits?

Well, it would be OK if they were special hidden extra costumes or something like that, because I MUCH RATHER see awesome+darker looking alts for the DC characters then their boring "human forms".
