I mean, why didn't his memories disappear of his family when he killed Sub-Zero, like it says in MK1? Because he didn't know it at the time, but he only completed HALF of his mission. He only avenged his own death. I'm sure he must've been confused about it, but vengeance is blind. But he believed Sub-Zero was responsible for all of his hurt and suffering, and let's not forget he assumed it was OLder brother that had his clan and family murdered in MKM:SZ.
Sorry, Xiaohu, but I believe I have alot of evidence supporting the fact that Scorpion and Sub-Zero's MK2 endings never happened and Scorpion WAS, in fact, after Sub in MK3.....and that to this day, Scorpion believes that Sub-Zero is the same one, and not two brothers. |
Never at any point did sub-zeros bio or ending in mk3 was scorpion mentioned...at all. Scorpions bio gos:

no mention of sub-zero at all. His ending:

mentions the vow but we know this ending didn't happen. And if you're trying to use the MK1 endings for canon. No where in scorpions ending does it say he loses his memory when he finishes his mission. most of the mk1 ending wouldn't work anyway.
Scorpion knows the difference. And was never after sub-zero as seen in his bio in UMK3 so of course some of the events in MK2 about scorpion sparing sub-zeros life and realising this is a different sub-zero is true. watch scorpions ending in MK4. An ending confirmed to have occurred. In this ending Quan Chi reveals himself to be the true murderer of his family and clan.
even more proof= Sub-Zero: Your soul will never rest Scorpion, the Lin Kuei may have been
responsible for your murder, but your family's true killer still remains free.
This is sub-zeros line in that ending.
note how in MKM quan killed scorpions clan. But that was the payment(the bag of bones presented to the grandmaster) for sub's mission at the temple. later on in prison, when you meet scorpion this is what happens taken from the script:
Captured and now imprisoned, Sub-Zero peers out of the bars of his cell and
ponders his escape. He fails to notice the shadowy figure of a warrior behind
him.
Warrior: Escape is not possible.
Sub-Zero: Who are you?

Scorpion is under the impression this sub-zero killed his family as well as his clan. You know from earlier since sub has been on missions and thru cut scenes quan chi is the real killer. This is also PROVEN FACT from scorpions konquest in MKDA, cut scenes in MKM, and one of the few CANON endings in MK4. Fast forward to MK4, Quan chi needs the power of a spectre to defeat sub-zero. As the older brother passed down secrets to defeat both him and Shinnok. That is proven in the official MK4 comic book. So Quan chi tips off scorpion
this sub-zero is the one who killed his family and clan. Scorpion isn't an idiot (he avenged his death, and discovered this sub-zero is the one who didn't kill him long ago.) but he's gulliable.
More proof=an excerpt from scorpions konquest=The ninja spectre Scorpion utilizes the forces of the Netherealm to kombat his
foes. Although he takes no sides in the battle against the Deadly Alliance,
his primary goal is to destroy the sorcerer Quan Chi for slaying his family
and clan. (this part is just to help my fight discussion part of the question)Scorpion is nearly unstoppable and will not rest until he has
exacted his revenge.

obviously some parts of this did come true evident in the quan chi, sub-zero, and scorpion endings of mk4=
Subs MK2 ending goes:
When Sub-Zero failed to return from the Shaolin tournament and rumor of Shang
Tsung's survival reached the Lin Kuei clan, they immediately sent another
assassin to complete the task. This new warrior is actually the younger brother
of the original Sub-Zero. He enters the Outworld contest and accomplishes his
task.
He learns of Scorpion's foul vendetta against his brother but will never
know why his life was spared. Perhaps a third tournament is in his future?

Upon learning of Sub-Zero's reappearance, Scorpion enters Shao Kahn's
tournament. He witnesses Sub-Zero spare the life of an opponent and realizes
that this is not the same Sub-Zero who murdered him so long ago.
He lets the
ninja live and goes on to defeat the Outworlders in their unholy contest. With
the defeat of Shao Kahn, Scorpion discovers a new purpose for his existence He
becomes the guardian of the new Sub-Zero to atone for murdering his older
brother and in preparation for a third tournament.
What does this mean for those that for some reason are trying to keep a score card?
MKM=Older sub-zero
MKM(prison)=Older sub-zero
MK1=scorpion
MK2=scorpion
MK3=No encounter
MK4=scorpion
MKDA=no encounter
This means scorpion has been killed
ONCE Defeated
TWICE by the OLDER sub-zero and
zero by the younger sub-zero.
An Answer to the original question:
Fashion wise-Tough, I actually liked scorpions DA costume better than his MKD outfit but I still like his MKD costume better than sub's but just slightly. More of a tie.
In a fight-
Both have undergone power increases. Scorpion gains alot of power being in the deepest part of hell(before he was just in hell.) Sub-zero gained alot of power thru the dragon medallion. But I still think Scorpion would come out on top. As much as the dragon medallion seems as though one hell of a punch, to me the damnation increase scorpion got seems like a stronger increase.
