You guys need to cool it with the beefing for real. Here I am trying to show you(Booya) videos and such about the game and all you wanna do is start shit with Moe? Moe ain't gonna change. If you like him then that's tight, but if you didn't like him before you won't like him now, so why pick fights with him by talking about his Bo sig? Is that in anyway constructive? Do you really think he won't reply to that? Then you wanna put it back on topic like he ain't gonna have more to say after that, and like you won't reply. Stop instigating bro.

Same for you Khanswarrior. He actually IS doing something. If you go on his page you can see he keepin it moving in the music game.

Anyway, just quit the beef since this ain't the place for it.

Booya did you check out any of those vids? There's good shit in em. Same for you Khan.

Yeah man,I got you.I'll check them out as soon as I get home from school, which will be about 3:00.I don't try to have beef;just when someone posts something ignorant.

But yeah,I'll check them out.

Booya, only getting it because of hype means you don't mind being ignorant to how the game works and not checking out videos? You'd prefer to start off playing not knowing anything, get raped by everyone who does , and quit because it's "not fun" for you? Suit yourself playa. Just don't spoil it for others with the bickering.

Nice to see you'll probably be playing, Bone. This game's longevity is going to be through the roof, and the community makes MK's look like a bleep on the radar. I'm telling you this because I feel if you apply yourself you'll be able to maintain a high level status throughout the game without having to worry about being the best after everyone good stopped playing. The best players will be around for years. You also live in California if I recall correctly. That's Smash central.

Here's some info on one of the two premier online leagues, Wi Fi Wars

"All About Smash League and WiFi Wars

WiFi Wars is a competitive Nintendo gaming hub dedicated to providing players with quality services. WW's founders, Jason, Matt, and Lee, all play a key role in the Wifi Wars community. Jason, aka M3D, is a founder of MLG's Smash division and leader of the Smash Back Room on the popular SmashBoards. Matt, aka Scav, is an experienced tournament organizer and administrator of SmashBoards. Lee is an experienced developer and competitive gamer. WW also has an extensive staff of other experiences writers, developers, and gamers.
Smash League

Did you ever want to be a part of the Smash competitive scene but didn't know where to start? Did you play in tournaments but yearned for something in between events? Was it too far to travel to large tournaments? Utilizing Super Smash Bros. Brawl's WiFi service we can now play others over the internet. The Wifi service, however, was not built for competitive gaming. Smash League is the solution to all these problems. Through the unique ranking system and the match making service we have provided a way for Smash players to compete from all around the country.
Leagues versus Circuits

Some people crave a structured, highly competitive environment. Others desire open matches in a more casual (but still engaging) atmosphere. WiFi Wars leagues cater to both, with the creation of Leagues and Circuits.

Leagues are created for the gamer who wants to play any time, any day. Using our new match making system, chat rooms, message boards, and instant messaging, players will seek out others in their division to play against. Matches will be initiated by the users and they will be reported by the loser. This allows for people to play whenever it is convenient against whomever they wish. Once the match is reported, new rankings will be generated for each player and the results will be added to the player's history. There will be several leagues with different rulesets and ranking algorithms. This way, both casual and hardcore players can compete with their preferred play style.

Circuits represent the next step. Circuits offer scheduled matches for the hardcore gamer. Circuit players will be assigned matches each week based on their rank and experience. They will have a week from the day they are scheduled to play against their opponent and report the results. Players can report disputes if their opponent cheats, hacks, uses banned techniques, or violates any other SL rule. The match load is designed to be small enough to keep players active and competitive, while not being so cumbersome as to become a second job. Players can opt-out of a week's matches, but can only do so before the week's matches.

The Circuits represent the cream of WiFi Wars' crop. Only the best players will be able to sit atop the rankings for a season, and the assigned match system ensures constant action. Leagues are for the general player who wants to develop his skill at the game. The Leagues cater to competitive players in general; the Circuits cater to an unabashed hardcore crowd.

At the end of each season, the best open Circuit players will be chosen to join the invite-only Pro Circuit. The Pro Circuit will have a limited number of spots and will only be open to Brawl's best competitors. Players can be removed or added to the Pro Circuit depending on their performance. This encourages fierce competition and an active community.
1v1, 2v2, and Crews

Smash League will support both 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 matches at launch. Teams will be created by a captain who can invite his partner to join the team. We know that 2 v 2 will be huge in Brawl, so we will fully support both types. We will eventually incorporate crews/clans into the online service.
Playoffs

At the end of each season the top players from each division will be chosen to compete in the Smash League playoffs. The playoffs will be covered by our talented writers and the top matches will be available for everyone to watch. Winners will not only earn the ultimate bragging rights but amazing prizes as well. This is something that no one else but Wifi Wars can offer.
About the Honor System

Though WiFi Wars has referees and safeguards in place to ensure the veracity of results, a strong honor system is still required. If you suspect someone of unfair play, whether this is gaming the system with fraudulent reports, failing to report matches or abusing disconnects, you may report the alleged offender to the WiFi Wars staff in the League Disputes forum. The Wifi Wars' staff takes our rules very seriously and players will be dealt with accordingly."

Word up word up.

Also, quick info. I'm not sure if many realize, but infinites are almost always legitimate in fighting games. The reason why they were banned in MKD and MKA is because they were so mind numbingly easy to do and set up that they made the game almost unplayable.

In Smash there are some semis and chains that are legit and fine. For example, Falco/Dedede both have a chain throw in Brawl. Well, first the throw mechanics should be realized.

You grab someone by pressing R and A at the same time. So that's shield + attack. You can ALSO grab someone immediately out of a shield by pressing A while blocking. Dashing and pressing throw makes the character do a running grab. Lastly, press shielding, quickly letting go, and pressing throw increases your throw range dramatically. This feature is new to Brawl.

Once you grab someone, you can press A to attack them. This adds on damage and the move is different depending on the character. Pikachu shocks them, Jigglypuff pounds them, Bowser bites them, etc.

Doing this adds damage on, but makes breaking out of the throw much easier. You break out of a throw by rotating or wiggling the stick rapidly before the actual throw.

After doing extra hits or choosing not to you can press forward, down, back or up for 4 different throws. Up and down are normally for combo starters while forward back tend to be for KOs and spacing.

How Falco and King Dedede's "infinite" works is grab, down throw, dash grab, down throw, repeat. If timed properly Falco and Dedede can dash and grab the opponent again before they recover fully. The heavier and bigger the character it is the longer you can maintain the chain.

Being on a flat surface helps to keep it going longer since once you bump into terrain or reach the edge the chain can no longer continue. Also, the higher the charact'ers percentage gets the further they fly. So once a character flies far enough away to make a guaranteed grab impossible the chain is now over.

I suppose directional influence, or DI, should also be covered.

When in the air, when you maneuver where you land and how quickly you do it, you are using directional influence. This means that even when you are launched into the air for a combo you are NOT helpless. Maneuvering your character will make you fall how you choose. Tapping down on the stick will make your character fall extremely quick. This allows you to follow up with combos and PUNISH stuff you normally couldn't because your landing time is too slow.

DI also helps keep you alive far longer than you should be. Lets look at Jigglypuff, the lowest stamina character in the game. If hit with Samus' forward smash at 80%, Jigglypuff will probably die. However, if the player DIs the opposite direction from which he/she is flying(if knocked right, DI left, if knocked up, DI down, etc) Jigglypuff can probably survive that same forward smash all the way up to about 110% percent.

Learning to apply DI to your gameis a must.

it seems to me that no matter what i post people will attack me. thats just why i quit posting on here for months. but when i have my opinion about something then i get flamed to death. i dont come here to argue. i just said that (true) i used to wipe the floor with booya in mkd. and as far as this Smash, Smush or whatever you wanna call it. i will not be playing it because 1 from what i seen on Youtube it looks kiddie. 2. i never was interested in the smush brothers series at all. 3 it looks like a button masher type of game where a lil kid can get the controller for the 1st time and press anything and whoop your ass....and you have put in 2 years plus behind the game. and i for one am not having that. when i play....i play 2 win. oh yeah and versa i see you been checkin out the tunes. i sent you a friends add i seen your shit as well. good shit. by the way i just added a new one today its called Ah Yeah. Yeah your tunes are nice, moe. You hear of reason? I'm sure you have. With reason you can definitely take your production to the next level. A lot of professional musicians use it. I'm getting it soon and am going to learn the little intricacies that go into creating music. I got a lot of ideas in my head and lately I've been just writing lyrics and stuff getting ready to put my ideas into reality. I've become really bored with just doing mixes. It doesn't allow for much creative input besides how you choose to blend, arrange, and alter the tracks.

With the whole Smash thing it definitely isn't a button masher. There's a lot more going on with it than there is in any MK game. Yeah, I can see what you mean about it looking kiddy, but that's really just the exterior. If you ain't feeling it though it's all good.

Good to see you're getting amped Bone.

What happened with Dan though? That dude's net got cut off or some shizz?

That video was the nasty. I love Falco's chain grab : ). I'm going to hate it when I use big characters with high stamina vs him though.

Iori, Booya, Azuro: You've signed up for the two leagues? I would do it sooner than later especially if you have a name you want to be able to use. I'd assume Iori would be taken by someone rather quickly.

Moe, I would suggest checking out Smash if you can. Most of your opinions of the game will changed for the better by just playing it. If you had fun with MK then this will be a fixation in your household. Even if it might seem kiddy to you there are plenty of characters who aren't such as Ganondorf, Snake, Samus, Captain Falcon, Marth, Ike and Link. Also the space animals(Fox,Falco,Wolf).

Do you need solid midi controllers to be able to use Reason well? I don't have any external hardware to go with Reason. I should look into getting some stuff before hand?

Ok, a lot of people forget 2 things about that site

1. You sign up with a temporary password and need to change it to a permanent one

2. That signing up to the site doesn't mean you reserved your name

you go here for that..

Also, sign up for Brawl Rankings too! Much quicker. You don't even need to activate by email.

Some fights between Deva and Eggz in a recent tournament. These fights really made me want to play Link for Brawl. Previously I had no interest, but damn. I really want to be like how I was in MKD/MKA with Brawl in that in my prime I could use a plethora of characters and dominate.

Eggz was considered by many to be the best Mario player in the world in Melee.

Deva(Link) vs Eggz(Mario) Fight 1

Deva(Link) vs Eggz(Mario) Fight 2

Deva(Link) vs Eggz(Mario) Fight 3

Oh, and for good measure. Deva beasting the shizzle out of a Meta Knight player. I hate Meta knight.

Lol dude those guys are American.

A lot of the top players from Melee got Brawl so they could have a heads up on new blood like yourself. I personally think they're scared and want that 30 day edge.

The way they got brawl was through either modding their Wii to be able to download the file and play it or they bought a japanese Wii and Brawl. Most went with option 1.

Funny thing is, in 11 days they're going to have to buy the American version to be able to use the online features to play 80% of the country who doesn't have the japanese version. haha

Dude theres gotta be a write up to mod your wii....i would do it to play 11 days early.

Where did you hear of this?or is it super hard to find out?

My wii is so abused,i bought it 8 months ago used (but was only played a few times then) we had a leak in my garage when i had it out there and rusty rain drips went all over it and in it,i take it over to alot of my buddys houses so theres scratches and nicks, and it makes funny noises sumtimes but never effects the gameplay.......My wii is a trooper but who knows how long it will last.
