There is a 99% chance the Dragon King will not be playable.

I say the MK:DA characters who are not in Deception(as is) are the hidden characters. Probably the Sub-Boss as well.

TGrant, I know you can't give out specifics, but can you tell us if the super hidden character count will be more or less than 8? Just curious.

I'm a bit torn on the super unlockable characters. On one hand, I'm betting that the MK team got the message regarding how few and how crappy the super hidden characters were in MK:DA. So maybe they'd go out of their way and give us 10 or 12 super hidden characters. Then again, maybe we'll get one to three, as has been the tradition in nearly every MK game ever made.
So I'm saying 6 right now as a guess. Somewhere between the gigantic 36 characters and the 24 we've already seen. My guesses for those six:

I'm sure Rain is possible, and a lot of people seem to think it's a lock, but I still think it's wishful thinking by some Rain fans and a rumor got started. Now it's closer to being accepted as fact. Oh well. I have a feeling we'll see the staring characters from MK:DA make returns, but who knows. It could be as easy as the prison stage characters, but if that's the case, why have we only seen Jade? And why would Boon and company make series outcasts Stryker, Hsu Hao, Drahmin, Reiko, and Jarek hidden playable characters? Who knows.

I also have a feeling that Fujin will be in this game, as well as Shao Khan, though now I'm going beyond guessing/wishing.

I don’t think we will see Rain in this game.

The team has focused too much on this style of characters, the ones that were overlooked and considered "lame", "clones" and pallet-swaps to make him return in the lamest of all ways, when the rest of the cast has not only improved in looks, but also in story.

Rain will indeed return, but I hope not for MKD. He would only be another pallet-swap. We want a new Rain, revamp, interesting, and most important of all, original.

Im sure the Dragon King wouldn't be playable. I mean look at how Shinnok turned out, get my point. Anyway, I know im not gonna sound any different from anyone who said this, but I think Rain will be playable. whether he's a secret character or a super secret, he'll be in. I thought so even before this Super Secret thing was revealed, because Boon specifically stated that Rain is in Konquest, why would he specifically mention him, when everyone is supposed to be in? See my point. Now this super secret thing is just even more insurance to me that Rain will be in.

Well im not gonna totally believe your inside source on all this information. Alot of people make claims about such things. The game is only 2 months away i will just wait and see. Although it is totally possible that all of your post could be correct. Reguardless of the hidden fighters or not this MK game seems to be just unreal. I don't know how they are gonna out do this game with mk7. I am really anticipating this game, plus the "bonus" edition sounds really awesome.

I think it is more than likely there will be about 36 characters. Just because Ed Boon said there would be hordes, and 12 seems to be the lucky number for Deception.

If not, I am pretty sure the likely choices are Stryker, Reiko, Fujin, Jarek, Hsu Hao, Kitana and Drahmin. Just because they are in the Dark Prison. Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Rain, Nitara, Mavado and Cyrax would come later.

Bring back the old and the new shokans:Goro,Kintaro,Sheeva and Goro's brother Durac and King Gorbak [ Goro's father ].

Now that i think about it... Super Secret may be some characters in it just for fun, nothing to do witht he storyline. You know maybe a few characters that people like tossed in for the hell of it, like Kahn and maybe some other dead bad guys like Goro. And prolly some good gusy too, maybe Sonya.
