How can Quan Chi possibly be alive if you clearly see Onaga reaching down and grabbing the amulet? I mean it might have fallen, but this seems like the most logical reason don't you think??

Onaga's just claiming what's rightfully his. The symbol in the Lost Tomb is the symbol of the Dragon King. The amulet was the Dragon King's.

I know. But everyone in other threads are saying, "Oh Quan Chi is alive cause he teleported, blah blah" but I'm saying how can he be alive if Onaga was seen reaching down to get the amulet.

How can death mean anything in a game where every character can kill every other character in every match? Why would Kenshi kill Raiden? Why would Sonya kill Jax? wink

Death will never mean anything in MK. And the sooner people accept that, the happier they'll be.

After the blast, you can see Onaga reaching down slightly and holding the amulet. They even close up on it.

I don't think that Onaga gave a shit about the 3 of them. They are just mere insects to him. You can see Quan move towards Raiden right before the blast, so I'm thinking maybe the DK just wanted the amulet, so he reached for it as the Desperation Alliance got the hell out of there. Of course that only works if you believe the teleportation theory, and I'm still on the fence about that one.

Do you honestly think Quan Chi would give the DK the real amulet? He didn't give Shinnok the amulet, why would he give it to the DK? I smell DECEPTION!

BTW, the amulet always belonged to Shinnok. The DK only claimed it cuz it is a means to rule all realms without interruption.

Daemos - I suspect you need to play more MKDA in the Lost Tomb.

I dont think it was originally Onaga's. MKM implies it was Shinnok's.

I really wish they'd explain exactly what the deal is with the Amulet. Why would it let Shinnok rule Earth uncontested? Why is it now a key to traveling to realms(a power Quan Chi had ANYWAY, as a "free roaming sorcerer") and whats it going to do for DK?

Maybe it holds a different power for different people who possess it..that's a little to farfetch'd and wouldn't count on this theory though.

I dunno. I expect we'll find out. I've always suspected a connection between The Dragon King and the amulet. Even before we had pics of his stage. Just a gut feeling. And I truly believe (and have no reason to believe otherwise) we will learn that the amulet was the Dragon King's long before it was Shinnok's. Probably in Konquest.

I was implying that the DK grabbed the amulet from Quan Chi, and not that Chi gave it to him.

Well Shinnok waged a war against the Elder Gods and the realms 10,000 years ago. About the time the DK was alive and in power. I suspect Shinnok killed the DK?

How did the DK lose his hold on Outworld in the first place? Was it Kahn? I doubt it was Shujinko, he's a 13 year old boy in Konquest.

It would be interesting to note that there are paintings on the wall of the Dragon King's lair that resemble Shinnok. Maybe the DK worshiped Shinnok?

Anyone noticed this makes for like a trilogy based on the amulet? It's like, MK1-3 where all about Kahn. MK4-6 has been the amulet and those who wield it. Kind of cool to think of.

The amulet is shinnoks which could only be created once and allowed him to enter realms without the elder gods intervening. It also opens portals which is how quan opened up the soulnado that shang used. Regardless of the fact that the amulet was in the background of the lost tomb stage in MKDA, it was never the DK's originally. The amulet most likely also holds power which would explain why in quans MK4 ending, shinnoks blast had no effect on him.

I've believed in lots of unpopular theories that mostly turned out to be true, so I don't mind when people disagree. wink
Anyanka - Yup, it's all about the amulet. And without it, Quan Chi is so pathetic.

Here's a question...

Did Shinnok think he had it in MK4? I never thought that. The thought never even crossed my mind. But I was just reading Gavok's MK plot guide(which is very good) over at Gamefaqs and he says he did. Anyone else think that?

Besides Quan Chi's ending the amulet isn't even mentioned in MK4 and I don't know how he could have possibly got the replica, since last we saw Raiden had it.

Quan chi gave shinnok the fake amulet during MKM. He even fool raiden, so all this time through the games he always had the real one.
