I am a big Kahn fan myself. Can the DK out do Kahn? Possibly. You never know.

No villain, old or new, can stand up to Kahn popularity wise, or gameplay wise. He is, was, and always will be the ultimate villain in the MK Universe, and he will return soon to remind everyone why he was self proclaimed Emperor of Outworld and Conquerer of Realms.

quan chi looks cooler, does more fucked up things, is insane, his archnemesis is scorpion.

kahn looks to S&M for my taste, not feeling the whole thong-lord Zed armor thing, he was never really scary or difficult to beat.

he needs a new outfit (khan) and needs to show that kintoro looking face that he has.

I think Kahn was definately the most bad ass MK boss ever. If the DK wishes to beat him in popularity, then hes gonna have to stay with us for a while until we get really used to him, because look how long kahn has been with us for.

From what we've heard, the DK seems pretty threatning. We'll have to see what happens and how he looks, its possible that he may even be stronger than kahn. He was the original outworld ruler wasnt he.

quan chi, is stupid, kahn is much better then them, but mk1 shang tsung was much better then everyone, the whole fact he could turn into everyone at a single command made him the best because he is always unpredictable, they should have never made him such an open charecter

I totally agree with you on this.

Quan Chi is the prototype of 'the smart villain'. For instance, even though Shinnok thought he was powerful, Quan Chi had fooled him and used him the entire time. He just betrayed an Elder God and got away with it; He's just so evil!

But not only is he smart, he's brutal too (leg beat fatality anyone?). You just gotta love that guy.

Back on-topic. We'll see, but I'm sure Boon will make him cool and evil enough. I think they've learned from their mistake with Shinnok.

I don't really have a favorite bad guy. But i guess kahn would have to be the top one since he was in the earlier games and had a more early impression on gamers. Dragon king is new and series is heading in new direction. What would the DK look like anyway. I keep thinking of him looking like "true ogre" from tekken 3. umm, eww.

I agree that shao kahn is untouchable as a man of pure evil.The dragon king probably won't have the Strength, the army, the connections, or the charisma of the emperor of outworld. Shao Kahn is an evil, ruthless, cunning, ruler who can outclass any villian in MK history.This "Dragon King" Infidel is going to be another stepping stone of the Mk storyline, and will be quickly forgotten.But Shao Kahn will live forever in the minds of Mortal Kombat fans. No one will ever dethrone Shao Kahn.And those punks Shang Tsung and Quan Chi got lucky.But they will get theirs sooner or later........

Kahn was always my favorite...very bad ass, and in the official comics (not the Malibu ones) he did some really evil things. And of course, according to the MK mythos, he's always been committing acts of evil. The problem is, no character development was ever as in depth as it was in MKDA, for any character at all, except for Sub-Zero in MKM. With the heavy focus on story now in DA and Deception, I think they could easily make Kahn a very appealing, evil character again, moreso than the Dragon King. However, I would like to know more about the Dragon King before I make a judgement. As a Shao Kahn fan, I say that the Dragon King could very well outdo Kahn, if he is developed well enough.

Well that depends how they make the dragon king.

he could be the hardest character face,or he could look cool( like Moloch) and be the most pathetic character ever.

But the thing is, that Shao Kahn basically lived on a legacy. He has been around for a long time.
the dragon king is fresh out of the bag, and more likely a one hit wonder.

So i don't know, so i will wait and see what happens.

I never liked Kahn from the start so yah, the Dragon King does seem like he is going to do sum damage. Plus hes not like all the other end guys, sum guy from outworld trying to take over earth. Even though Dragon King is from outworld, hes been brought back from dead, so its like he is starting a new legion. Sounds like its gonna be awesome!

and the DK is the 1st ruler of outworld..so thats already better than kahn

its easy to take over realms with a super big outworld...but try taking over realms and creating outworld when ur just a regular realm

You kiddin me? How is being the 1st ruler of Outworld being better than Kahn off the bat?? He ruled a single realm. Kahn made Outworld as big and desolate as it is now. It has never been stated, as of right now, that the Dragon King was a conquerer of realms. He was the ancient ruler of Outworld alone, he never went to take over other realms like Kahn. When the Dragon King died, Kahn came into Outworld wanting to rule and conquer not only Outworld but other realms as well, he was a dominating megalomaniac. A deity who can stand toe to toe with a god- Raiden. He conquerered thousands of realms, expanding Outworld into a more massive dominion than it was previously. He slaughtered millions of inhabitants brutally... he made something out of nothing, even if it is a wasteland. And he's done something the DK nor a fallen ELDER GOD has ever done, almost succeeding in conquerering the jewel of the uiniverse- Earth.

No matter how lame you think he looks, Kahn will always be the main man. Its going to take something huge to outdoe Kahn in the best villain catagory. And I guarentee you, we havent seen the last of Kahn, proving that certain "death" cant even keep him out of his beloved throne and seat of power. He will return and remind everyone why he was dubed Emperor of Outworld and Conquerer of Realms, with his unmatched skill and ablities that got him where he was in the first place.

I don't know... This is a tuff situation for Midway to itself into. In one hand you need a new bad guy (Dragon King), and the other he is the supposted to be the ultimate bad guy. Khan was great but we don't know much about the DK. What he looks like or his power. For all we know he could be another YODA. Small and cute, but with a big ego problem, because he knows his stuff.

Think about, what will happen after you win. There will be no more bad guys? Or are they going to do another DA with Khan and DK? Or maybe they just say the DK's father or brother wants revenge.

Here's an idea. Maybe for the next MK, the earth fighter should go in and take over all of the relms. We can call it MK: Payback or MK7: Invastion. What do you think?

in my opinion Shao Kahn was the best boss... though he hasn't had much competition yet. Shinok was a pathetic boss... and quan and shang sucked as well... i like shang in the first one... but you shoudldn't be able to play as the boss characters.. So depending on how well they make the dragon king i still say shao kahn will always be the best Emperor....

Um. No they didn't. Not in terms of being popular boss.

for me kahn is the hardest boss to beat, even moloch is easier, in fact i still havnt beaten kahn cuz he gets me frustrated with the freaking shadow moves he has cuz then i dont have any time to block them and if i do he just picks me up anyways and punches me, the only ppl i got close to beating him with was Liu Kang (i want him back) Motaro and Kintaro

Kahn, IMO, is untouchable. He is a pure essence of classic evil for a few reasons.

- He killed a man, took his wife, and claimed a realm. After that, he twisted it to his fitting.

- After that, he continued his quest to rule more realms through unholy loopholes.

- That badass mallet. Come on, who didn't think that was cool as hell.

- His constant placement in MK games. He's popular. He was even mentioned in MK:DA, a game that barely featured him at all.

- His attire. Although S&M-ish, it's worked well for him. The skull mask with the horns is also badass.

I think Kahn is gonna return sooner than we think...

Kahn has many fans.

I like Kahn.

He is cool.

BUT i think the dragon king will be SO much better.

Remember that Kahn didn't come out till the Dragon King was out of the way

if raiden's ending is showing what the dragon king looks like, i think we're in for a treat. he looks sweet. and a good way to make him the ultimate badass is have shao kahn and him have a confrontation in the opening fmv. just have the dragon king destroy him and rip him to shreds. that will get people geeked before fighting him.
