hey Mobster4Christ i won my first match against dashfox... his ps2 screenname was actually dashfox1..... but i won all four matches that we played and that last match ending up after i won when it said finish him i got a connection error... but i hope dash will say we had a good game cause i think we did, and that everyone will be honest while playing....

Ok, now I'm starting to get worried. Its been a full two days since the matches were announced, and I havent even so much as HEARD from my opponent.

Anyone have any advise? I didnt want to advance in the tournament simply because of default, but the way things are looking, it seems as if this is going to have to be my only option.

Despite the fact that theres no honor or skill involved with advancement that way, but screw it, if thats the way it goes, then I'll accept it.

Note: I've read nothing in the tournament rules about winning best 2 out of 3 in the e-mail that Mobster4Christ sent out. As far as I know it's just one match, winner takes all.

I'm not a conceded person, however, truth me told, if this person (SHINODA) ever DOES play me, I'm gonna beat the shit out of him for a) making me wait forever, b) because he's making me panic.

Well its 11:12 EST now, and i still have not been challenged ive been online for about 4.5 hrs. No PM's from him, also I gave him my email address in an earlier... (in a pm i even gave him my phone number lol) so i guess this guy dipped... o well ill look at it this way, i will not lose in the first ladder...

I kinda get what some of you guys say when you get pissed off about playing online. I was bored late last night and I wanted to play online and I wound up playing about 4 people that would quit after about 1 or 2 games and then talk crap about being the best. I'll admit I get beat, but I need to get a feel for who I'm fighting, so about 2-3 fights would suffice. (Which is why I didn't enter the tournament, it was single match elimination per bracket.)

I'm beginning to like chess more and more online though...good stuff when the other player doesn't disconnect or stall on the board.

I sent my victory report to M4C, and reported the results of each match Sub-Pion and I had today, including the two which I lost, though I won a 5 matches, including the first and the last match we had. Of course, I was honest about this, since honesty is the best policy here.

If I get eliminated now, then I'll bring up the fact that the rules said nothing about "2 out of 3, one match and winner takes all, etc."

if u read M4C 1sr post the 4th white bubble, it indeed does say~single elimination. so all u needed to do is win the 1st match.. which u did, im glad ur moving on..

The tournament will be single elimination style, with the winner advancing to the next bracket.

When I played IonBlade, we both "agreed" to certain "rules of fair play", which included": No death traps, best of 3.

We also agreed that if there were any disconnects during the match, that it would be ignored, and we would try again for a fair match. Unless of course it was after the match was over and said finish him and disconnected...then it would still count.

Yes the rules say 1 elimination...If that's the way it is...
Then you can consider out of three matches:
Player 1 wins 1, player 2 wins 1, then round 3 = deciding match
Player 1 wins 1, player 1 wins again, then round 2 = deciding match
Either way it is still "one match" that decides it depending on who wins the first "round"

If you both don't agree to best of 3 or best of 5, then by default 1st round is deciding factor. I am sure some of you can decide two practice rounds, then 3rd match is deciding factor. To each his own. If you don't want to agree to more than one round, then don't bitch if you lose the first round, per official rules. Likewise if you win the first and lose the rest of a mutually agreed best of 3 rounds, don't go stirring the pot because the rules say 1 elimination.

For me this is a fun tournament, and I want it to be as fair as possible. Hopefully any future opponents will see it the same way.
