I can answer that. Sheeva's weapon is called Shokan Blades. According to Malone, it's broken so far as there's no recovery time though the MK team are apparently going to fix that.
Fujin's weapon is the Wind Blade.
Hope that helps.

Mastermalone I got a question:
They mention anything specific about Kintaro being incomplete. Between only having 2 specials, a weapon that looks like they just renamed Goro's he doesn't look finished at all.
I'm getting the vibe they just needed another boss for the demo and made his throw special unblockable for this E3 build just to make him more than a gimped Goro.

Not exactly, his command throw was unlike any throw that Goro has. He lunges at you and slams you down to the ground right next to him. His other throw was a distance throw similar to Moloc's Vacuum move from MKDA. The demo at E3 was not as far along as the build the MK Team has back in Chicago. They did not want too much of the game revealed too early. They stated that all of the characters were finished and that the only things left to do were to finish the game play features and the boring stuff (also known as tweaking the game).
Yes, at the moment his weapon looks like Goro's but his move set was different. Also, Kintaro's weapon stance made him move 10% faster than normal. I don't know if they will change this aspect or not. And no, Kintaro is not finished. They still need to add his version of the Shokan Air Stomp and a fireball. Something worth mentioning is that that Sheeva and Goro's Shokan Air Stomps look different. Sheeva continuously stomps the opponent while Goro comes down with one quick hard stomp. They work great against fireball happy players.

Well, I asked them about that. I told them that no matter what, there will always be a character who is top tier and that some characters just counter others, to which they acknowledged. I advised them that cowardly players would just wait for you to pick and then counter pick to assure victory. So I suggested that they implement a hidden select feature to remedy this. They thought it sounded like a great idea and will research it. I also mention that some of the more jerk-like players would just sit on the select screen all day waiting for you to quit, especially if you just handed their ass to them.
They will add a countdown feature on the select screen to end that problem. I advised them about rank-whores and how they pull the plug before a loss to save their record. I recommended that they give the connected player an automatic win and the disconnected player an automatic loss. If both are effected by a server error, niether gets a win or loss because both are still connected. They will also research this as well because they understand the frustration dishonest online players. They were not aware of the rank whore issue, but they are now....Mwhahahahahahahahaha!

Hi, great news you got there.
I have a question to make.
With the E3 build can you say that they'll do all the things they promised they said they'll do? Or some things get a cutt off regarding time? We are at most 5 months of the game realease...
I hope the wake up moves, and the other stuff be really implemented.

I'm glad that you asked the question, but I don't like the part about giving an automatic loss to someone who pull. Why? because pulling is necessary sometimes when playing against someone who use a cheat device.
Quick question Malone: do all the characters have an uppercut and a sweep in the game? and is the uppercut useful? (I miss Kintaro's old school uppercut lol)

In regards to online they should do 1 of 2 things. A: remove the rank alltogether, I think it tends to distract people from actually having fun with the game instead of having a full on mental breakdown when their precious record is stained or B: Do it like Fight Night round 3 does. Your Win/Loss record means nothing if all of your Wins came from people with losing records. If your 1200 - 10 but like 700 of your wins came against people who were 20 - 300 then your rank scales accordingly. If you are 1200 - 10 and your beating people who have equally impressive records, then you'll be ranked higher.

Ok, Well I never just had faith in Boon and did nothing, I want improvement as much as anyone all I'm saying is that it can be done in a mature way and not a silly bashing way.
My sculptures for example, some are better then others obviously so people can go two ways about it.Be a dick and say it sucks ass, do this do that and call me a moron or in a mature fashion like the way Malone did with Boon.Simply bring up constructive criticism and guess what?Boon knows and is doing so.
I think it's a better approach then the "You're a dick for doing this man" approach lol.My view.
But, either way you guys should be happier now I know I am.
Ok, malone thanks for asking dude and answering my questions man. You're the man.
I bet you will pick Mileena, Sareena, Kitana, Kira and I'm not sure who else lol.
Well, I can't wait to play you in the future in MK:A man and have our KAK go at it hehe.TTYL man.grin

Yes, all the characters had an uppercut and some type of sweep. The uppercut works the same way it did in MKD, no real priorty for an anti-air attack. I told them about the Game Shark users but to be honest, it's not really up to the MK Team to restrict that device for online play. It's up to Gamespy, they are the ones who control the PS2 MKD servers. I don't care about the cheaters, If I see them cheat, I'll quit the match...nuff said. That's one of the reasons why I love Xbox Live, Microsoft does not support cheat devices for online play, so it's not an issue on Xbox.
You see, pulling does not hurt the cheaters, they don't care if you pull. In fact, they get off on it. They are not serious enough to play the game fairly, so why would they be serious enough to get mad if you pull? The answer is....they don't. We need the rank to give us a reason to try harder to be the best we can be at the game, but not so much a rank. I think players should be graded on their skill level with appropriate titles such as:
Mortal (win rate is 20% or less)
Warrior (win rate is 40-49%)
Ninja (win rate is 50-69%)
Immortal (win rate is 70-89%)
God (win rate is 90-95%)
Elder God (win rate is 96-100%)
Any time a player willingly dissconnects, they drop win rate by 1% automatically, thus deterring the reason to pull before a loss. The Titles will fluctuate based on your performance if you start losing too frequently because it's based on a percentile, but nowhere neare as much as they would if you pulled before a loss.
Anyway, I only hope that the team implements a ranking system like thhe onle I described above and I also hope they take my advice in general for the rank-whore problem.

Each character will only have 2 costumes. Well, you can always make the character look how you want them to look using the KAK mode. Something worth mentioning though, I noticed a few templates for the KAK menu that included the following:
Old Shang Tsung
Standard Classic Ninjas (Male and Female)
I found this to be exciting because I always wanted to have the old Shang as an alt, now I can just make him from the existing Shang Template and modify it a bit more to my liking.
I'm sure there were more templates for the old characters but I had to leave the show to avoid the LA traffic. I keep remembering more things about the game everyday lol!

MKF: I'm willing to bet money Fujin is Malone's character of choice (am i right?)
Also I don't like the rank system idea...why? You couldn't find me any top 3 players on the xbox or ps2 that have 90% or above win rate. Only people that have that are cheaters and queers (pullers). I like the current one BUT it shouldn't drop you 4000 ranks for losing one game. It should be based on how good your opponent is. Oh and IF YOU don't play in 3 months you're taken off complelty because I can't stand these morons (fisdacufs) who play it earlym get ranked high and leave.
Then you have people like (well I won't name them) play under one account and get ranked like 30 something and won't play on that account again because it makes them feel like they've accomplished something. Gay...just gay gay gay.
Malone, I really respect your authority in asking these questions. You did what I would have done. Now I can't wait to see the questions mk:o asked..

your use of gay as a derogatory term offends me.
not that i am gay, but i have several friends who are, and feel that using gay as a derogatory term is very insulting. people should accept other peoples opinions and decisions, be it favorite characters or sexual orientation. while i can do nothing about this,i do hope that in the future you refrain from using gay as an insult.

Hey malone great stuff, 3 quick question if you can
1. Can you juggle from jump kicks? it seems like you can..........
2. Sheeva's ts, Jerek's ts all seem very broken, Midway knows it?
3. They know about all the overpowerd moves in MKD (smoke's cloud, brc's puke etc.....)?

The E3 build did not allow for special moves in the air, but I was advised that the build in Chicago did. I was told that they are aerial versions of the special moves that sort of look different when performed.
Yes, they will receive some of their old school moves back such as Cyrax's Green Net etc. I'm not sure of the full extent of the returning specials but they said that some were making a return.
I hope that helps

Ok here it goes,
1) You cannot juggle from jump kicks in the current build. It is unclear if this will change but as of now the jump kick sends the opponent flying back too far for any type of follow up attack. I would much rather they keep it that way to cut down on the chance of cheap gameplay that could lead to infinites.
2) Yes, the MK Team knows that they are broken right now, hell, even the gameplay designer told me they were and what he is going to do to fix them. You should have included Rain in that question too, he was so broken you could see pieces of him falling off and shattering to tiny bits of cheese lol!
3) The Team is well aware of the Smoke Cloud, what they plan to do is possibly make it more or less like Sub-Zero's clone (ineffective up close)

Second that^^^.Cyrax is one of my favs and I'll play with him a lot.
Malone, I'm curious dude.Do you believe or did Midway give anything away concerning EVERY character getting ALL of their original moves back again?
Like, Sektor has his missle, new verticle one, teleport again and a new flamethrower.
Do you believe they will do the same for Cyrax, Smoke and Reptile along with all the characters?
For example:Cyrax HAS to have his Net back, his bombs, a teleport and perhaps a new move.Reptile HAS to have his invisibility, forceballs, acid spit and slide.
It's ok if you don't know this because I know the really important gameplay issues had to be taken care of first, just figured I'd ask.
From the looks of the game so far, I'm assuming every character has their original moves back for the most part.
Also, a quick KAK question man.
Did they tell you at all what the limit is with special moves per KAK?
Like when we make our KAK, can we have 3 specials or 6 max? Thanks.smile
