And anyway... the censored version of the fatality doesn't sound all that bad. You don't get to see the violence I guess but by the sounds of things it still retains its theatrical awesomeness.

....Plus, actually... I just realised that according to this article, nobody has actually confirmed this. Hans Lo just gave a vague statement. Then the journalist saw the uncensored fatality. Could've been an old build, or something. It's not very specific. I'm not getting my hopes up now that I think about it.

You would think they would have made a official statement by now since the game as already gone gold.Its probably true,but until theres some sort of confirmation from Midway,lets not get to worked up over it yet.

I read this, and at first I got rather pissed off. (as I'm sure was the initial reaction of a lot of the USA fan base.)

But you know what? Is it worth it to holler and scream about it? Not really. Will it change anything as far as this release is concerned? Definitely not.

Besides there are still a lot of other awesome things in the game that, IMO as of now, make up for watered down fatalities. The game will still be fun to play and that's what's important.


So Congrats Europe. You deserve this. Seeing as how, for some reason, you guys got screwed out of special Edition.

Ok i get that supposiably that the UK will get an uncensored Jokers fatality, but is that the only differences! Are we still gonna have the Fatalities/Brutalities that we have been seeing for Fatality Friday? If the Jokers fataliy is the only one that they have "TONED" down, then i dont really see what the big deal is. Yeah it sucks but shyt i bet the game is still going to be very awesome!!!!

Don't get me wrong.. I was just as pissed off as anyone when I first read the news about the fatalities being watered down. I thought (and still do think) that was ridiculous in an MK game. Then I realized: No one who CAN change it cares about our bitching and moaning (meaning the ESRB). It's done. No amount of bitching is going to change that.


So calm down, take a breath and relax man. MK9 will be Mature and back up to MK norm in the gore department.

I understand they won't get a SE of the game.But,I would rather have all the fatalities that were met to be in the game instead of a SE of the game.At any rate,I am still excited about it even though its going to be a long time before I can play the game.Plus,its not like their getting something we haven't seen already.They should have shown all that stuff to the esrb before showing the fans.

'cause there very well could be if this goes well. That's why in the beginning (one of the first interviews I believe) Boon said that there might be a possibility of two franchises.

I've learned not to trust a single thing that comes out of Ed Boon's mouth.

"The next MK will probably be a typical MK game with the violence and fatalities." - Says Boon until MKvsDC is a hit and the franchise quickly spirals down into maximum suckage with MKvsDC2 and MKvsDC3, utlimately culminating in MK vs DCU: Apocalypse, which will "wipe the slate clean" and included over 100 MK and DC character.

Geez, I don't know who's worse at hyping up and letting down the fans: Richard Garriot, Peter Molyneux, or Ed Boon?

I'm pretty sure Midway is going to milk Mk vs Dc for all its worth. When this game succeeds, they'll put the pressure on the Mk team for a sequel and will want a larger cast and more gimmicks. If they are smart they will end this with Mk vs Dc and continue on with a proper Mk game. Trust me Mk vs Dc is just the calm before the storm. If a true Mk game isn't delivered after this, people are going to be thoroughly upset, minus the Midway/Boon loyalists.

yeah i was in favor of a MK vs DCU sequel but not so much now. unless DC suddenly become okay with the M rating.

I'm not stressing out about this too much. To be honest, the censored Joker fatality actually sounds funny. For them to walk away after the joke gun only to be shot in the back is a pretty funny concept.

You add the gunshot sound and the sound of a body falling to the ground and you got a badass fatality again.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Probably not, but since they've shown us the full fatality already, it sucks to know that it's altered.

I don't want two franchises because there's a possibility of it taking a year or two between real MK games. I don't want this DC shit it isn't a proper substitute.
