2 Words: I never liked Noob Saibot, and doubt i ever will...
I guess that was more than 2 words, huh?

Anyway, Dragon belongs to Sub Zero, and Sub Zero alone.
Monkey was a BAD choice for Noob in Deception.
I say Ninjitsu and a Scythe would fit him. He should wear a hood or something, anything that makes him resemble to "Death". Maybe, he IS death?
That would make me a bit interested in him.

To Vasculio: You need to learn how to actually play as Noob-Smoke to really understand their gameplay style. They aren't top-tier characters for no reason.

To Bad_Boy: Why do you feel that Monkey was a bad choice for Noob and that "Ninjitsu" would fit him better?

Noob Saibot is an assassin / warrior, and the style make him look really dorky.

I'm pretty sure theres a awsome chinese assassin fighting style just right for Noob Saibot.

Because you have no idea about how Monkey style looks, moves and stuff. It's not dorky in the first place, andf showoff-like in the movies. Nin-jitsu would make Noob Saibot a clown, so obvious that they play on the black garb ninja thing, and the idea of him having a scythe and looking like death wopuld completely ruin him. Not only it is a very overused cliche, but
a bad one. If Noob gets a resemblance to death like in MK4 he will automa-
tically suck (self-evident).

Assassins preferred monkey style, hell even Mantis style borrowed a large amount from it on the legworks. mantis emphasises on agility, speed and mobility, it is a n obviously good choice for an asasssin or for anyone. I cannot picture a shaolin like Kang witht he movie monkey style,
Cannon Fist and Jett kune Do fitted him nicely. Shujinko is another thing, but he also looks defiant to such things. Obviously you can only look on the surface.

But i do agree with you about one thing, the Grim Reaper look is overated.

Its is cool for Zasalamel, not Noob Saibot.

Well, one reason is like Vasculio said, Monkey fits better to Liu Kang for example.
And besides, isn't it alittle weird, seeing a wraith from Netherrealm standing in monkey style? I have to say, i laughed when i first saw him in Deception.
Ninjitsu would be a better style for him. It fits him more.

and would kill all unique originality in him. Degrading him to the subpar level of a random shadow/mystic ninja from 90% of games. Seriously, why can't we sate with the not-instantly-evident for once? Why do we have to go with the easily digestible but valueless stuff instead?

I can unstand where Chrome is coming from about the originality. But i can't accept it.

How does Monkey fit better to Liu Kang?

No, it's not weird seeing Noob, a wraith from the Netherrealm, using Monkey style Kung Fu, because.....

1. He was once a human being from Earthrealm.
2. He happened to be a member of the Lin Kuei, an ancient Chinese clan of warrior assassins, in his former life.
3. Tai Sheng Men, the Monkey Fist, is a Chinese martial art.

So wouldn't it make sense for a member of an ancient Chinese clan of warrior assassins to know some Chinese martial arts?

I mean, Smoke is/was a Lin Kuei warrior and the style he uses is Mi Tzu Chuan, the Rice Ancestor Fist, which is a Northern Chinese martial art with similarities to Cha Chuan, Shaolin, and Tantui.

I don't see an explanation from you as to why "Ninjitsu" would fit him better. It's Ninjutsu, btw. In both his former and current lives, he has used Ninjutsu, but I'm not referring to the martial art. I'm talking about Ninjutsu in its more literal meaning...as in the methods of stealth and espionage. However, such things are not something solely seen in Japan. Stealth and espionage has been evident in other parts of the world.

However, as a martial art, it doesn't make sense for him to use Ninjutsu. It certainly didn't make sense for Cyrax to use it either. If anyone in an MK game is going to use Ninjutsu, it should definitely be Scorpion as it would make sense for him to use it considering he's more of the true ninja since he was part of a Japanese ninja clan, especially one that has the name as one of the oldest known of the 73 Ninjutsu Ryu-Ha.

One thing you have to understand is that in all of Ninjutsu, the Ninja's mentality in combat was much like that of a Monkey Kung Fu practicioner in that they both used psychological tacticts to their advantage, especially in the Lost and Drunken forms of the Monkey Fist.

There are 5 forms of the Monkey Fist. I think it's logical for Noob Saibot to use it for the reasons I had already explained above. Out of the 5, Tall Monkey fits him the best, because he's 6'2" and 210 lbs. Tall Monkey, also known as Standing Monkey, is a Northern, long-ranged Monkey style that's designed for tall, long-limbed people such as Noob Saibot. Tall Monkey likes to keep its practicioner more upright unlike the other forms of the Monkey Fist.

If Monkey Fist in general was much much closer to being portrayed better, Noob would kick ass with it, but he'd probably be a bit harder to master, but that's fine by me.

Since each of the characters in MKA are supposedly going to have 2 styles, I think that instead of a weapon, Noob Saibot should use Fan Zi Quan as his other style. Yes, I know that's the style Jade used it in MKD, but it would fit Noob, imo.

Fan Zi is a Northern Chinese martial art that specializes in acrobatics, rolling, tumbling, Chin Na joint-lock techniques, and is more of a close-ranged style that has a Xing Yi type directness to its moves.

Thats a nice lesson in fighting styles. I didn't know that. Anyways i don't like the monkey style personally for him but if he did have it i wouldn't get mad. I still think hes awesome even with monkey. I still think the Scythe would be a great fit for him not just cause of the death thing but its orginal and might add another demenion to the wepons department. Thats only though if using the scythe goes fuild game play wise. If not sickles seem just as good. The other ideas are good also no matter what styles he has Noob will kick ass in Armageddon.

Nitara already uses the sickles (Kama). If Noob were to have them, he should use them much differently.

Noob is one of my favourite characters, I was very dissapointed when they introduced Noob-Smoke to MKD. That was ridiculous IMO, not only did they ruin my likes for Noob, but for Smoke as well. I hope Noob-Smoke never returns, again.

I didn't like the "Monkey" fighting style on Noob either. Its not because of the name or anything, its just because I don't think the fighting style/look of the style suits him. I'd rather Noob have Kajukenbo or White Eyebrow, Monkey takes away the dark feel of Noob IMO. He could have so much better fighting styles.


I was trying to think of a weapon that would suit Noob, and I couldn't come up with anything. I thought the "Shark-Tooth Sword" would go well with him, but it turns out that there's going to be way too much swords in MKA. I always liked the Scythe with Noob though, I think it fits him nicely. There's over 200 different types of Scythes for them too choose for him. Btw, I would like to see the grim reaper outfit as an alternate costume for Noob. Thats something I havn't seen in a while.

If Noob does stay by himself in this game (which I hope), what types of special attacks do you think he should have? Having 2 Ice fighters would be boring IMO, so I would want them to give Noob special powers that involve Dark Magic/Dark Art/Black Magic/Vodoo.

Story-wise, I see Noob trying to take over the Lin Kuei, and possibly hunting Scorpion -- Thus giving Scorpion a reason to feud with him. Maybe Scorpion and the younger Sub-Zero will team up to put a stop to this powerful threat, and I imagine Sub-Zero would need help because of Smoke's alignment. I can also easily see Noob working with Sektor or Frost to take down Sub-Zero......maybe he could use Frost to take out Ashrah. There's so much possibilities they could do they Noob's story.

I'm not sure how bitter the hatred would be between Noob and Scorpion, but one thing I would like to see is one big final showdown/conflict between the 2.

Everything you said is good just one thing is its clear in deception noob is planing to take over the netherrelam not the lin kuei but he might get involve with sektor and frost somehow.

This is good stuff but really, swords arnt noob saibots thing. I think he should have some wicked unique weapon like a sythe.(but with a wicked looking blade, kinda like those swords). IMO theres just too many swords and daggers, need more originality, especialy for a character like noobsaibot. Other than that, great stuff dude.

heres another thing i would love to see noob use..they should recreate ability to create a shadow version of him self ( if anyone saw mk annihilation where slime comes out of ermac and goes onthe ground then rises into a person) the shadow should fight using random attacks only for a limited time then vanish in a black mist...i think they should get rid of the shadow ball its lame and cheap...waste of a good special...they should give him a sepcial where he could be all the way across the screen from u then he dashes to u at light speed and the trail sould be somthing that looks like johnny cages shadow kick ...this move would set u up for a throw or a combo on them and he should throw like 3 shurikens at a time ( not like reikos new move) for his last special

i think boon has somthing planed for noob for a story so wutever he does with that i will be happy with(unless its crappy lol) and they should have somthing that sets him up for a bigger role in the game after mka

Kind of, but it's not exactly the same. Back in MK4/MKG, you can choose whether or not to press block to grab and throw the opponent. And also, the throw Reiko does is different from Noob's. So in conclusion, they can simply have their own versions of that move, Noob with the MKT version and Reiko with the MK4/MKG version. Problem solved.

Dark_NoOB: Regarding Kajukenbo and White Eyebrow, I don't see how that would fit Noob.

Noob Saibot has been one of my favorites for at least over a decade now, I always liked the idea of a shadow fighter.

Here’s what I’d like to see.

Noob Saibot

Styles:
Dark Dragon-
It could have similar attacks and the same physical power level of the Dragon style but with sneaky under-handed tactics. More dirty moves that are against most fight’s rules and cheap shots.

Monkey-
I liked this style for him, it looked unnatural which I think fits him.

Scythe-
Possibly the best choice for him, if there is anyway to make this work, I’d love to see it in the game.

Noob would be cool with dark dragon style and a sword like liu kangs dragon sword in MK4 or syes he should also have a spcial like scorpions spear except it should be a dark mist that pulls the opponent to him
But otherwise I dont care how he turns out in MK:A
