Okay, so I called Best Buy and Toy R Us just for the hell of it.
The guy at Toys R Us sounded competant. He said they didn't have it, and even went so far as to read me off a list of games they did get in today, so I trust what he told me.
The guy at Best Buy sounded competant at 1st, but then I heard typing, and he told me they'd be getting it in on Oct 19th. (???) So so much for that guy.
And just because I didn't go into detail before, The Wal-Mart lady went away for 5 minutes, then came back and said, "No we couldn't find it" So I guess I'll have to go in and look myself later.
In any event, this is driving me nuts. If it is infact out there, someone better have this game by the end of the day, to appease the rest of us.

Exactly. I will applaud anyone who gets it in today so they can satisfy our appetite for Kombat.
Hopefully they will take the time to divulge any info.

They don't have to shelf it. One stupid stock-boy just has to take it out of a box and ring it up for someone. Or one crooked stock-boy just has to slip it in his pants. There are enough of them out there. There used to be a guy at my highschool that stole games and sold them out of his locker. I bought Final Fantasy 9 the week it came out for $15.
Now I personally, don't believe in stealing. I got caught once when I was little and it scared me straight for life, but if he already stole it, then who am I to pass up a deal? Besides, he got caught, fired, and charged the cost of the merchendise anyway, so justice prevailed in the end.
Anyway yeah. THe crooked stockboys are certainly out there. You could be one of them for all I know. One must come through for us by days end! *Shakes his fist defiantly at the sky*

hahaha, seriously though, hes right, we just need one person to sell it, once someone breaks the date, its open season for all stores. Thats what happened with Mortal Kombat 1. It was supppossed to be released on Mortal Monday, but some store sold it early and it allowed every other store to sell it on friday instead.

Hmmm that is weird, I always thought that videogames did not have hard street dates like cd's and movies do because of the fact that games almost never have a definite release date like cd's and movies do. When a CD or movie is listed as being released on the Oct. 5 it is gaurenteed to be in the stores that exact day and no earlier, but with games it is not like that. If the stores put out CD's and movies any earlier than the scheduled release date they will get in big trouble by the companies. I used to work at Best Buy and when we got games in early we would put it out because there is no hard street date on them. Games change release dates all the time so that is why it is hard to put an exact date on its release. I guess in this case it is just a management decision.

Alright, I went out to Wal-Mart and Gamestop, and couldn't find it at either.
The guy at Gamestop said that (his words) there was no way it was out. Especially not at Wal-Mart. Gamestop is way bigger on games then some little, Wal-Mart, there's no way they'd have it before us.
So basically Gamestop man told me that you guy were LIARS! :P
Hehe, I'm just screwing around though. I trust clerks about as far as I can throw them. I believe you're right, and it's out there somewhere. The question is where... _>
And when will someone get it... _>

i was just sayin that it was in our store, in the back, i checked it in today and put it in lock up. we are NOT putting it on our shelves until monday and NOBODY is to break the "loose" street date that we have posted in our store. not lieing, and also not selling it either.

You know it is possible that walmart does in fact have it.Not every walmart though so dont think cause one walmart might have it that all do.I used to work at walmart and we did get games in early but they were wrapped up with a sticker on there saying not to sale before such and such a date.Just like movies they can get in whenever but with movies they mostly wont release before the offical release date. But I do remember selling some games no more then a week before its offical release.

If this is true, all MK fans in Indianapolis should form a mob, go to Wal-Mart and DEMAND they sell them the game. smile

We got it in at Circuit City yesterday but like Wal-Mart you can't even ring it up until Oct. 4th, actually i'll be getting my copy the night of Oct. 3rd because when we close the computers automaticly consider it the next day therfore the barcodes will be able to be rung up Oct. 3rd after we close at 9pm. I already have the 4th off so i'll be playing it all the night i buy it and the whole next day.

If I worked at a place that has already received MKD, I would be sweet talking my boss into letting me give him/her the money for the game, take it home, but not ring it up until street date. smile
I do hope these reports are true...if so, SOMEONE is going to let it drop early and then every store will be selling it.

I know how you feel but I gotta wait a month and a bit.. not 4.
yea, in most places games don't have strict 'street dates', like films and albums. i work at blockbuster and whenever we get the game(s) in we put them out. in our computers the street date for mk:d is october 8th, but more than likely/hopefully we'll get it friday or monday. i've got the premium pack on pre-order, but hopefully i'll get to rent and play it till my order comes in.

I live in Chicago, and stopped at the local Target tonight after work. The 2 guys in the video/electronics area say that they expect to get it in on Thursday the 30th(today now here)
They also say that if they in fact do get it in that they will put it out as soon as they check it into the system. So anyone in Chicago interrested.....that Target is on Cicero ave. at 72nd street(near ford city mall) I will check tomorrow to update for everyone.
