I really don't want another band involved in MK, but if one did do the theme for Deception, I would say Motograter should do it. I just love their song "Suffocate" from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre DVD.. The video of the song is on the DVD.

Motograter on the TCM dvd was pretty badass... I think Megadeth could do a good metal song... they are putting out another album ( www.megadeth.com ) and world needs a hero had some badass stuff one it.... Metallica if we could take the metallica from the 80's and get them to do a song.... Fear Factory... yes.... I think Static X could be cool (Destroy All), Mushroomhead, From Autumn to Ashes, but no linkin park or hip hop... please.... immortals could put in a new song... but Dan Forden should do the main music

i would reallly apriciate ie the song is st.anger by matallica siriously that song has a really cool beat and a cool song.another song would be like lets say that song thats called "it has begun" its a mk song im not sure who wrote it but its really cool it has like whispers saying"a tournament called mortal kombat" so i think that if metallica its not there so i would go with the son "it has begun"but if there is metallica and not "it has begun"the ill still be happy

All original music is the way it should be! Theres no way they would put eminem or linkin park in the game and if they did then they suck. I thought putting adema on the MK:DA disc was straight up gay. adema sucks just like everything else I hear on the radio. just thought I would put in my two cents.

i thik adema was not a bad band for mk:da it was not bad

I'm hardpressed to say what it could be...
I like all Metallica, but it in no way would fit MK.
Mudvayne...maybe...Silenced or Dig might be good songs for it.
No Linkin Park, thats not brutal enough at all. My girlfriend listens to Linkin Park.
Godsmack, perhaps.
Anyway, I think the best bet is no big name bands at all. It ruins the atmosphere of MK. Dan Forden should redo the MK2 main title theme. That would be badass.

Godsmack. They've got a real heavy feel to most of their songs, and I could picture (and hear) a Godsmack song playing in the background of a fight.
This thread was to pick what band YOU would like to make a MKD song. Your own opinion is not the only one that matters. And to back Linkin Park up, they've got a very unique sound and just because it's not heavy all the time and because it's mainstream doesn't mean they suck. Their mainstream songs are crap compared to the stuff you don't hear on pop stations. I don't think they would fit in MKD though, so..ya I'm done.

Right on. If I HAD to chose a band, I would say Dimmu Borgir. Besides them, keep it dark and orchestral.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Dimmu Borgir would be a great fit, but as long as it's heavy, dark and orchestral, I think it'll be spec-fooking-tacular.

If this is the lask MK I think they should put in Lil' Flip - Game Over for the credits...
I think they let you make custom songs while walking around in Konquest mode...

I say Dan Forden does the music like the original games but if they were to have a band do the music I would say CKY, they kick so much A$$ plus there a heavy/death metal rock band or they could have HIM.
Peace Out

I have been rather disappointed by Metallica's music as of late. In fact, I think the disappointment all started with the Black Album (the mainstream dares to challenge that, but the TRUE Metallica fans know what I'm talking about). Megadeth's gone. Anthrax doesn't sound like they did twenty years ago, although they're still good. And by default, the only one of the "Big Four" of Thrash Metal who should even perform the MK Deception theme is...SLAYER! Slayer's got EVERYTHING needed for music with a dark theme and an upbeat tempo to keep up with the intense fighting.
0
Rammstein should do an instrumental for the theme

Slayer is good band but they have never really competed with MetallicA and prob never will due to fact that Tom Araya sucks major ass and King can't play lead for shit. Hannemann is good i like that dude, and MetallicA, yea they have downhill a lot but i like their new stuff, some of it is actualy good.

I will say that I do like St. Anger, because Metallica went out of their element with that album, and it was definitely more aggressive than Load, ReLoad, and the Black Album. I also agree with you on Jeff Hanneman. He's got some kick-ass leads. The Antichrist, Die By The Sword, Mandatory Suicide, Season In The Abyss, and Dead Skin Mask are just some examples of some of his best leads.
Originally, I started listening to Slayer just to see how good Kerry King was. Even though Kerry King gets more of the press from Guitar World magazine and shit like that, I say that Jeff Hanneman's got the better leads.
As for your comment about Metallica and Slayer never having competed with each other, I guess I would have to agree with you. However, those are my favorite two bands to put in comparison and contrast with each other. They both started around the same time, they both made their recording debut on the same series of compilation albums (Metal Massacre from Brian Slagel's Metal Blade records), they both released their debut album the same year, they both released their major record label debut the same year, and they both started off playing the same type of metal, yet they've only shared the same bill twice. Fast-forward twenty years later, and Metallica and Slayer are totally different.
