Baord memebers in the past have said the final secret was the version number. you imput a cod and you see what version you have. people like M4C have confirmed this, and they heard it from the Midway team.

Thanx Ion for answering. Can be hard to detect sarcasm or what exactly someone means when writing, particularly for someone of a different nationality but also if the answer didn't relate directly to the original question. Besides, lots of these characters have other nicknames, eg Ketchup.

Until that version code is confirmed by a member of the dev team then it surely cannot be known as the 'true' final secret.

It still could be a hoax! When Ed comes out and says that it is the version number I will believe it, until then I don't believe the version code is the secret.

if anybody believes the version number crap then they must be dmb. cause that little "rumor"came out a long time ago. and not one of us knows how to do it.so therefore its not true. and i agree with everybody that says midway is screwed for telling this lie. they obviously tried to make something up to keep people playing the game, but they told a lie to their fans. thats low.i don't even believe ray or anybody works for them. cause if he did, then i'm sure he would relay messages back and something would be revealed by now.midway screwed us all.and nobody on this damn site even works for midway.

I don't believe it was Midway that started the rumour of the version code in the first place.
It was just from a 'trusted' source apparently.

All Midway said was that they believed there was still one secret that hadn't been found. They didn't say what the secret would unlock or do.

If there does turn out to be no new secret then sure everyone will be pissed at midway for misleading and false information.

i dont know what you mean by the "final secret", all they said is there is something no-one has found yet...to our knowlage it could actually be a key made from cheese...we dont know, if there is something then it probably wont be big...

The Final Secret was the version number. If I'm wrong, great, but that's the way it seems to be, 99% certain of it. Every single time an MK game comes out, a rumor mill crops up claiming to be on to something big. I remember seeing people debating for hours on the existence of nudealities in MK2. This "Final" Final Secret business seems like it's just another chapter in the story.

I don't believe that was ever a serious rumour at all.
I don't think any of the rumoured 'alities' were taken too seriously.
The serious rumours were always secret characters, and the biggest within MK2 was the Kano transformation, because it was a coded menu item within the arcade version.
Sure there was always the ermac rumour as well, which was very popular which is why we got to see him in MK3.

haha i can't believe people are still talking about "the final secret". what a load of crap for anyone who says they know it or "will lose their job" over it. face it, there is none. the game has been hacked, gameshark'd, and played for almost 6 months. give it up.

It just don't stop huh, I thought the madness would stop after fight night. When they shot all of our dreams down. Confirmed broken promises...I'm shocked that this bs is still running strong 6 mos later. Was here everyday when it 1st came out, now I just visit every now and then to see if there are any new findings. This is ridiculous, someone says " a key to cheese", and we all lose sleep trying to figure it out...not me...

According to our source, the version code is the final secret. You guys have NO idea how much I wish I could tell you who our source is. The problem is, said source has requested anonymity. He/she/it is in the same position as Ray: if he/she/it were to be named, he/she/it would get in a LOT of trouble, even possibly losing her/her/its job. It is for that reason that our source has requested anonymity, and I am going to honor said request. It kills me to do so, because like I said, we know this source and know its absolutely reliable. However, I refuse to go back on my agreement to keep it quiet.

I'm sorry you guys don't believe us. Please understand when I say I wouldn't have posted that information without making sure it was from a source we considered 100% reliable. It does us no good to be posted information that we do not consider accurate, as it makes us look unreliable in the long run. If someone can DISPROVE the version code secret, then by all means we'll retract our story. But until then, our official position is that the version code is the final secret.

well when will it be released, if it will be release, or is this another "boonmk2lie" implanted to keep us hook until mk6. either way i know that people are going to get tired of being lied to so midway can sell games or people are going to start to feel they are not getting their money's worth if there's stuff in the game we can't even access. if midway does release it and it's more bs like the kryt, COSTUMERS are going to be pissed. i have a simple, BUT big question, why put it in the game if they're are not going to tell anyone OR put it in the guide. i'm pissed, because i spent 15 bucks on the guide, and now midway is saying there is more.

i want to believe there is more, but it's starting to look like a HUGE load of crap. if you don't want to tell it, then don't hint at it, cause no one will get it without help, and this "cheese s--t aint helping.

If this version code crap really is the final secret as this source says, then why is this ray running around and posting about cheese? I read these boards every night, and really, I know most everyone's opinion on the version code thing, it sucks. Now, if they are both in those types of positions, then ray shouldn't give the people here false hopes with the 'key to cheese' crap. Because if this has anything to do with how to find the version code, he should stop. Because he'll only get people pissed off for working to find a stupid version code. Anyway, thats only what I think. I personally don't like being told one thing, but being led to believe another.

The burden of proof in any situation lies on the person trying to prove something happens, or exists. ie when in court you are innocent until proven guilty.

Therefore, there being no proof for a final secret other than what one person has said, the final secret could be anything. Until how to access the final code is revealed, it has not been proven to exist, no matter how reliable anyone is (not that the source isn't reliable, but, it's possible they are just kidding) If they know the final secret, they must know how to access it, in which case, they can easily prove it exists, until then, it could, as I said, be anything.
