It's not needed at all and imo should just be left out. MK is about life and death. It's not Jerry Springer. It's trivial and imo we just don't need to know.

But if one should be gay, I'd probably go with Cage or Liu Kang to help their stories a little.

But it did get me thinking, now he is my favorite character and I can't really picture him being gay, but if Shang Tsung were to morph into a female and have sex with a guy would that make him gay?? And would having sex with Motaro be beastiality?!? I'm thinking bringing sex into the game would just complicate the character development because there'd be too many options. But yes Mokap is gay.
