Well I loved tekken 2, and I havnt played another tekken game, I dont get many games so I must say that MKD will be my fav (even if I played tekken) since im an obsessed fan of mk.
I think MK is the most fun fighting game and has a special quality to it.. ha

you would be surprised how many people on this site perfer other fighting games than this one and will probably not get MK:D. to be on topic i hate the Tekken series. never could get into it. they should just make more Soul Caliburs.

And from HISTORY - i would choose Tekken, it's super smooth in comparison to MK series (especially MKs recent arrival to the 3D realm.).
I obviously love MK, but I love Tekken too. The whole mystique that surrounds the Tekken story is just greatness. :)

ok im not going to be stupid and compare 2 games that havnt been released yet.
however, having played TEKKEN 4, and comparing it to MK:DA, there is no competition. Tekken 4 is sh1t. its bland and boring and its actually possible that its worse than Tekken 3. MK:DA, had better fighting styles, better graphics, a hundred thousand times more content (kontent, sorry) and on top of that, its a hundred thousand times more fun to play.
so bottom like. if namco keeps up the work, tekken 5 will suck. if Midway keep up the work, tekken 5 will suck. end of story.

I agree. The MK games are fun. I was rather bored playing Tekken 4.

I love Tekken and MK, but I prefer MK mystic side, so even if Tekken 5 would be better techncally, I will choose MKD for sure... :)

What history would that be? It's pretty much common sense that Tekken 5 is going to be the better game. Sure Mortal Kombat: Deception has the extraneous stuff, however Tekken 5 has the fighting engine and in the end, that's what's most important.

For the simple fact that, for a fighting game, the character movements in MK are just too damn slow and stiff.

If you've seen gameplay footage of both, you can compare them. They are both fighting games, and they both havent been released yet, so based on what we've seen, they can be compared.
Tekken is going to make MK look like a joke (again) as far as the fighting engine and gameplay goes.
Actually, i'll add the character models to that too. T5 looks far better than MK:D does to me (the stages in T5 don't impress me so far though, but what does that matter?).

I'm gonna go out on a linb here and say MKD. It's packed with lots of content. Tekken 3 was the last onee I played, too easy.

I enjoy MK more. The only Tekken game I ever got into was Tekken 3. That one was the shit. I loved he storyline in that and some of the endings were awesome (I especially like Jins). I tried playing Tekken 4 and Tekken Tag, but I could never really get into those. They were just way too slow paced and I'm the kind of person that enjoys charging up to the opponents and unloading combos on them. You couldn't do that in any Tekken game.

I think the "Younger Youth" will play more Tekken 5, and its a good Game 4 kidz with Chars like Kazuya a sweat Panda *lol* nothing special, but Tekken 4 sux as hell, sorry.

Deception is depper, fresher new ideas...and also a over 90% Game, and will own the Story Fighting Genre once again, now its a Role Playing Game and, and...!

Love the MK series ofcourse and, i've had a hgue amount fo fun playing Tekken 3, when i spent a whole summer with about twenty friends dossing around friends house who's parents were on holiday. We played Tekken 3 permanently.
Tekken 4 was terribly dull, MKDA was fun! MKD looks like pure genius. Tekken 5? Know nothing about it, but assuming it's anything like Tekken 4. I say MKD is my choice!

I think Tekken 3 was the best game in the series. In fact, I think it's the best fighter I've ever played. Deep fighting engine, great grappling characters, and a large cast of characters. To me, Tekken 4 was just a graphically enhanced T3, and therefore got boring pretty fast. I'm afraid that Tekken 5 will be the same way; there haven't been any significant advances in how it plays.
Now, MKD doesn't have the same depth to it's fighting engine as Tekken; in that regard, I think the MK series has always lagged behind other fighting games. But that's not why I play it. I play it for the blood and gore.
So, I'll be playing MKD, and not T5

i'm gonna have to go with MD:D. i never really got into the tekken series and MK's just more fun than other fighting games. Yeah, i have DOA 3 and it just bores me, same with Soul Calibour 2

The 2 games are very different. They are both great games, I'll be playing both, but my favorite is MK

mortal kombat: better characters better story better areas more violent better finishers(does tekken have finishers) way funner better fighting engine and it kiks ass

Tekken 5 is just Tekken 4 without inclosed environments, and more characters. Just more of the same.
MK Deception has more characters, new fighting mechanics (like the breakers), the new death traps, and all sorts of extras (Konquest, Chess, etc).
MK Deception will be a better game overall.
