(Not sure about Ashrah yet, we haven't seen her alt. costume) I know you guys like the gals in a sexy outfit, but please make it something that can actually be worn in a fight?

You know I love female fighters! IMO they are 100% better then any of the males, and after MKDA, NO ONE can say females suck in battle.

As for your question, I have to say no.

For some reason, I feel that a fighting game with fewer females is so much better then having a whole lot of them in equal to the guys.

There is something that makes the females unique in the game, and to have a few is actually nice. MKD actually has the biggest number of females yet! And also, I think we will STILL see 1 more!

I really want Sonya to return, same for Kitana, but females should not grow in number, that’s just MO. I just think that less females makes them special in a whole battlefield of males.

Mk1 started with 1.

Mk2 came with 3 new and even had 1 in the background story.

Mk3 came with 3.

Mk4 came with 2.

MkG came with 4.

MKDA came with 5.

MKD will come with more then 6.

Ig you played Sonya in MKDA and Mk1, and Tanya in Mk4, you can see thats wrong.

Sonya was definitely a brutal force in that game (MKDA), proved to be better then classic Males such as Sub-zero and in Mk1 she was No1 Top tier.

Tanya was incredibly fast and deadly in Mk4! best in that game kicking classic butts such as Scorpion.

Females have proven to be in the same level of power and even more.

Sonya is one of those who have been around improving in power by each game, so, I dont think Males are all that great.

Sonya wasn't a top tier character in MK1. I thought she terrible, and she was middle tier in MK3. Hell, I didn't know tiers existed in games with just 7 characters. Sonya is probably the ONLY woman in MK (Tanya isn't that great. Jade was the same way, so what's your point?) who could actually put up a fight. Scorpion really isn't that great of a fighter either.

And I agree, though I also am a fan of female fighters, I think that the ratio between Male and female should remain lower on the female side. Because as you said, if there's only a handful it makes the more of a rare commodity(sp?) I mean in fighting games the number of females to pic from (if any) was always low...but the females that were selectable were usually some of the best and most deadly in the game.

gonna have to agree w/ queve on this 1 sonya is top tier in mk1..can really comment on tiers from mk3-mkda..but i know my stuff from mk 1 and mk2...arcade versions that is...
u guys make a good point about there not being alot of females makes them special..but i still feel 10 is not alot..since there will be more then 24 u know there will be alot more males introduced...making the ratio worse then it already is...

The subject of Tiers has always been a delicate subject to discuss cause many just say their faves are the best when they are not or that it’s a matter of opinion and such.

The truth is that even though she might seem hard, she is the best in that game. That’s a fact.

I think Queve's right, because There were people who hated Sonya, and then in MKDA turned around and said she was one of the best...And this came from people who didn't like Sonya in previous games. In DA Sonya is most definitely ONE of he best...She's devastating in the hands of a good Sonya player...She easily crushes the females of the that game and way more than holds her own against some of the more powerful male characters as well. Sorry but in DA Sonya is most definiely among the fighters in Top Tier.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero??? OMG, the ninjas have been low tiers in the first 2 games. Nothing special about them. They were the worst in the first 2. In Mk3 Sub-Zero managed to be the best.

About Sonya, hands down! She is the best in Mortal Kombat 1! period. She is in No5 or 4 in Mortal kombat 3 and she is still among the best 5 in Mk4!

And no word on deadly alliance since we know how much ass she kicked.

Kitana might be good, but no where near deadly when compared to others. She is just bad.

Helllooooo...Says who? True there is no where as many female martial artists but when they chose the right technique they can actually be better than the guys. Techniques that depend more on balance, speed and skill rather than brute strength. Unfortunately, due to stereotyping very few women go for martial arts beyond the basics for self-defense or past school age. This not because they are not any good at it, but because they are told that it doesn't suit them or they feel like freak in the way guys and other gals treat them. There is even some people that believe that the only female martial artists, like female cops and soldiers, are lesbians and are treated badly by these closed minded people. Also, many times men are actually threaten by the fact that a woman can defend herself. Some of these men (and I am using the term loosely) will try their very best to see that the woman fails. Crap....now I'm sounding bitter *sigh* I'll get off my soapbox now.

Exactly, there are women who are great in Martial Arts (like Cynthia Rothrok Sp? for one example) but many more females tend to stay away from it because of the way they feel they will be treated, especially if they can put a man to shame in a fight then this girl becomes labeled a lesbian or butch, simply because "a normal woman shouldn't be able to fight like that" That's ridiculous. So it's not that women don't tend to be as good as males in Martial Arts (actually some tend to be better), it's that alot of them can't be bothered to try because They don't want to deal with rude remarks or insults.

I'm a guy and I really can't get into any game playing as a female character. My little bro is the same way more or less.

I would much rather it the way it is now. And plus, I think if it had more female fighters than male fighters, not as many people would buy the game. Kind of sexist but, some people just think it's dumb for women to be in a fighting game. Personally I don't mind, but I would rather is stay the way it is now.

I don't really care, the only ones I care about are Kitana and Sareena. But hey, the more the merrier.

I think there should be more female fighters. The highest number of females was in MK Trilogy. Anyways in deception they should have added more females. At least 10 or 12. I mostly play with the female characters anyways.

Hmmm, in my opinion 10 Is a good number for MKD. I agree with queve, having less females than males makes them special. It makes me think that the females that made it to the MK tournament are unique, outstanding women, one in a billion sort of.

And about all that "women can't/shouldn't" fight, I can only say... Man oh man! Can't wait to play on-line and prove you wrong!!

Female fighters are cool, but I always tend to do better with the male fighters.

For me, it just depends on the moves the character is given and how well they fight with them.

My favorite female in MKDA was Sonya.
