I think that sort of strategy just means poor play testing. Jade was sick in MK3:U, I kind of forgot about her. I don't use her, but if anyone could use her like the comp on very hard, she's almost unbeatable (although in my prime...).

I'd say in my opinion I can understand how perhaps Mileena in MK2 could be the most powerful character of all, but I still say it's really up to the player.

It's a bit like racing a Mustang and Camaro, in most cases the Camaro is the faster car (In recent years, excluding the Cobra which is in a completely different price bracket), but the driver has a lot to do with it, and can still beat a Camaro if the driver is good enough.

Im one crazy machine when it comes to playing Mkda, and as much as its fun to play with kitanas steel fans, I think that statement is wrong.

Sonya can do deadly counters in TKD stance, and while you might like to think they are deadly, (they might be in your hands, I agree ) she simply lacks a lot to win.

Kitana was garbage in that game. I hope they never insult her character with those styles. She was no where near close or deadly.-

Nah, I don't buy that. I wouldn't go as far as to say that Sonya could take them all at once as someone previoulsy said, but One on One, I think that the Only fight in which Sonya would have something to worry about is Nitara. I'm not saying that the others aren't fantastic fighters in their own rights, but I just happen to believe that Sonya is better.

Thanks Wanderer! I'm a Sonya fan too and know that she'll lose on many occasions regardless of her status as a Chosen one.

The list was to state my opinion and only that. If anyone disagrees with it, then so be it. My list will stay as it is.

WOW! I missed so much! Well, lets see:

Sonya is Top tier in Mk1 because her leg grab is simply amazing in range and power! Her sweep is just unpunishable, that is enough to make her the best of the game.

Johnny Cage is second best cause of his excellent range and fast kicks, he has the best long kicks of all the fighters.

Stun moves do no good to scorpion or sub-zero in Mk1 or Mk2. The only game were sub-zero stands is actually Mk3, and scorpion in MKDA.

Omg, back to the war.

I’m sorry but any Mortal Kombat player with tier knowledge does know that it’s a fact Sonya and Cage are Top tiers in Mk1.

You keep talking about the ninjas stun moves when they were surely useless in that game. Scorpion and Sub-Zero were the low tier characters in the first 2 mks, and that having those stun moves, who could more then easily be avoided.

Tiers is a subject people tend to disagree since their faves are not where they want them to be or something similar. I'm not saying that’s the problem with you though, but I'm not sure.

in my oninion liu kang is the best in every game he is in, the kicks of cge has shorter range, also subzero is weak in mk1 in mk2 is one of the best but scorpion is one of the best for the speed of the spear just doing at close range and its almost sure that it will hit. but yes the sweep of sonya is really efective also that she got an air attack so im not saying that she isnt a bad char.

The only female story-wise Sonya could have trouble is Sindel. Just because she seems like this very elder queen.

Gameplay wise, Im sorry but Sonya kills them all at once.

Tanya was outstanding in mk4, but just like mkda, sonya is in the top 5, which makes it more then possible for her to win the fight. In mk4 sonya has the most damaging combos.

Against kitana, I say this is a fight were both could win or loose, but when it comes to speed and strenght, Sonya wins.

Same with mileena.

Jade is the fastest of all females, but speed is not all.

Sheeva is brutal and has the most amazing combos in mk3, but she is easily avoided.

Same with nitara.

Frost is nothing. Her infinite is what makes her good, no more.

Li mei is just ok but she dies.

Not to mention Sonya is one of the toughest characters of the whole series...you may laugh but remember, she is now the only one of the originals with the exception of the immortal thunder god to have never been killed. Johnny between MK2 and MK3, Kano by Sonya I believe in MK3 or between MK3 and MK4 (Didn't play MK3 much), Liu Kang at the beginning of MK:DA, Scorpion in almost every MK game, and the original Sub-Zero in MK1.

actually the ninja stun moves r great in mk1..they work just as great as the leg grab in mk1..if some 1 -clips, punches,round houses,or upper cuts, the ninjas can couter w/ a spear or freeze..in sub-zero's case when some 1 throws a fireball he can freeze at the same time he can block the fire ball and get a uppercut in..sub-zero can slide slide slide w/o it costing him like in mk2-4... in scorpions case when some 1 throws a fireball he can teleport punch.... sonya has lots of positives and negetives 1 of the + - things about her in mk1 is..no 1 can go up to her and punch her like crazy while she is blocking,thats cuse she blocks low,but a negetive is that she cant go to some 1 blocking and punch them like crazy cuse she punches high.her leg grab works like the spear and freeze,plus if u time it right u can get a second grab in and its unblockable..anyway what im trying to say is.in mk1 sonya and the 2 ninjas r top tier in mk 1...not johnny!!! any 1 that says johnny is top tier doesnt play the arcade version much...u cant make tiers by playing the home versions....johnny is good but no where as good as the ninjas and sonya....

I based my list on realism and not in game mechanics.

As for in game, tier lists are pointless imo. It's all down to the player using each character! But I respect your opinion and agree with some of what you said.

Although, MKDA was all pre determined when you think about it. Any character could've had Sonyas styles so anyone else could've been top tier.
