I think Gamecube is a bad marketting decision. The controller is bad for fighting games, and generally people who like Mario do not like flowing blood.

It's mainly because the cube has no online play, thats the direction that MK is going in, if the cube offered online play it would have MKD it's as simple as that, dont blame boon and the team blame Nintendo for not going the online route, maybe MKD will come to the cube in a different form but that's upto the MK team as to wether they want to do one or not.

Its because Nintendo fans only like Nintendo games.

Its been proven that almost all third party games do poorly on the Gamecube and thats the main reason alot of 3rd party game makers stopped making games for the Gamecube.

MKDeception might sell if they add Link because thats the only reason Soul Calibur 2 did well on the Cube.

You guys are all fucking idiots.

1)Gamecube has online abilities...some idiots seem to think it dosn't, but what about phantasy star online.

2)Most people own a cube because they don't like flowing blood? Your an asshole. Thats just a stereotype.

The fact is...Midway is a broke ass company and cannot afford to port the game to the cube.

Simple as that.

The GC can get online, the reason I think that MortalKombat D won't be on the Cube is that it can't download content. The X-Box can and soon the PS2 can as well. From the sound of Konquest mode in MortalKombat D will have lots of downloadable goodies, outfits new moves and such. This is all just a guess on my part, and the only person whom knows for sure is Ed Boon.

BTW it does suck and I have a PS2 but I still feel sorry for the Gamecube owner's.

I think we have some PS2 and XBox fanboys running around here making stupid fanboy comments of their own, so shut the hell up.

Mortal Kombat: Deception COULD get online on the Gamecube. If you've said otherwise, you're really a moron and I hope no one pays attention to you in the future. smile The idea that Midway is broke is stupid as well. The people have more money than I could ever dream. If they don't think the sales are going to be as good, here's a solution -- DON'T MAKE AS MANY GAMES! You save MONEY that way, and make some as well! To totally exclude the Gamecube market is really stupid. Most people don't have a Gamecube cause it has kiddy games. Most have a Gamecube because they've seen a Playstation 2 in action, and know of the crappy load times and polygon graphics half the time. And some have seen the XBox, and know that no matter how many times they change the controller, its still a clunky machine. Once they check out the Cube, though, they realize it has a great frame rate, smoother graphics, faster load times, and a comfortable controller, and they say "HECK, this is just a better system!"

So, to clear up the stereotypes there. Honestly, if you don't like what Midway has done, write a letter to them and complain as I did. If someone was REALLY smart, they'd start a petition.

Someone has; it's in their signature, with a picture of a screwed-up Cyrax with the sentence "Click here NOW." Click the link and you'll be taken to a petition. Also, there was a thread about it not to long ago.

Online has nothing to do with it.

Of course Midway can make MKDeception on the Gamecube and not have it online, thats not even a question.

Midway said that the Gamecube has given Midway a small percentage of sells on there games. Most sells come from the Xbox and PS2.

They also said that games will be released on the Gamecube on a case by case basis. They are still unsure if MKD wont be on the Cube because thay have plenty of time to change there mind.

If you notice the Gamecube has been cut off from many games.

Driver 3

Hitman Contracts

The Suffering

The Punisher

Narc

And the list goes on and on, the Gamecube isnt selling third party games. Every third party game released for the Gamecube will be in the shadows of Mario, Zelda and other Nintendo franchises. Game developers have said this and until things change Nintendo consoles will be left out when it comes to most games.

They SAY that a lot, but the really BIG games dont even get the time of day on the cube. I didn't see Rockstar sticking its neck out to get a Grand Theft Auto on the cube. I'm not sure how Resident Evil was going on the cube either, but I simply know I rented it and didn't find it that entertaining.

You'll be happy to know that I own both a Gamecube and a PS2. However, I bought MKDA on the Gamecube. Why? Because I don't think I've legitamently bought a game for PS2 since Tekken 4. I mainly bought it because of the DVD player, but now that I have a DVD player for my TV and on my computer, the PS2 sits bundled up in a corner not even connected to the TV. It's simply not as good as the Cube, though I must admit -- Red Faction was easier to play using its controller than on the Gamecube.

The Gamecube is simply a superior system in my humble opinion, and if any of these REALLY good games (ala Mortal Kombat) came out on the option of the Gamecube, I'd get it on the Gamecube hands down.

My Gamecube collection of games include --

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (Sonic is Sega, and he rocks)
Enter the Matrix
Metroid Prime (argueably the most inventive and detailed 1st person shooter)
Rogue Leader (simply a beautiful game. Note 3 sucked major ass in my opinion, so I didn't buy it)
Zelda: Wind Waker (adventure games, so fun. And it came with Ocarina.)
Mario Golf (because I am a fan of golf, and I liked how this manuvered on N64)
Mario Kart (because its a great party game)
Smash Bros. (highly detailed, beautiful, and inventive fighter)
Mortal Kombat (because it rocks)

So yeah, I did have a lot of "Nintendo only" games, but I don't think I know many Xbox owners who dont have Halo either. If it comes to your system, and its good, you buy it. If it comes to your system and its bad, you don't. Note I did not have Luigi's mansion, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin, Pokemon Colloseum, or anything of the like because in my personal opinion all those games sucked major ass.

My PS2 collection includes Grand Turismo 3, Onimusha, Red Faction, and Tekken 4. That's about it it. Strangely enough, most all of them are PS2 only games. Strange, eh?

So to clear you up -- only a few third party games do well on the cube because only a few that come to the cube are actually good. There yah go.
I think that Midway is going to wait until Nintendo unveils the Nintendo DS at E3 to make a decision whether or not MKD will be on Gamecube.

Havraha you are the perfect example to why third party games do bad on the Gamecube.

Many 3rd party games are highly rated and are some of the best.

Hitman Contracts as well as Drvier 3 are highly rated games. Maybe not to Nintendo fans but to PS2 and Xbox owners those are 2 big hits.

And yeah the Gamecube is better than the PS2 hardware wise but not game wise. Try playing Onimusha 2 and Xenosaga, the PS2 has to many great games to name.

Also I have an Xbox and PS2, I had a Gamecube but sold it a while back before the price drop. And here are the games I own for both consoles.

Xbox:

Splinter Cell
Rainbow Six 3
NFS Underground
Amped 2
Knights of the Old Republic
Mortal Kombat DA
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs SNK 2
Dead or Alive 3
Grand Theft Auto Double Pack

PS2:

Onimusha 2
Metal Gear Solid 2
Zone of the Enders 2
Xenosaga
Tekken 4
Virtua Fighter 4 Evo
Mortal Kombat Trilogy

I have quite a few games because it takes me awhile to finish them when Im working and going to school.

Also did you know that the Xbox was gonna get all 3 Rouge Squadron games in one bundle called Rebel X.

I thank you for restating my point -- the great third party games dont get the time of day on the Gamecube. It has nothing to do with if they're accepted or not. Most of em would be, if the game makers themselves WANTED them to be on Gamecube.

My whole take on this is that I favor the PS2 more...it has better games than either XBox or Gamecube, and higher quality games. Graphics don't make a game...so what if the Gamecube games may look better...I've seen more graphical glitches in Gamecube games than PS2 games, honestly.

Am I being a fanboya bout this? Fuck no. I own all 3 systems. Frankly I wish I didn't, because I could care less about video games anymore, but heres a fact: I've owned the gamecube for about a year and a half...and out of that year and a half, it has spent about 13 months accumulating dust in the back of my cabinet. I own 4 games for it, which I have no desire to play now that i've beat them: Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, Rogue Squadron, and Metroid. If it came down to it, and I had to choose between owning only a Gamecube or never playing another game again, I'd happily choose never to play another game again, cuz I just think, being the owner of all 3 systems, the cube just has the worst selection of games. And as a GC owner, I do agree with the consensus that it is a system aimed towards kids, and it has the worst controller ever created. Regardless, the 4 games I played for it were tons of fun. I don't care if its a kiddie-oriented system, cuz I think fanboys who starts system wars are friggin' idiot kids who need another decade or so to grow up.

To get onto the topic, MKD isn't coming to gamecube because of several factors, that people have all already pointed out. MKDA did not do well on it, third party games in general don't do well on it, GC is a pain to develop for(have to rewrite and reformat most of the code), PS2 and XBox owners make up the core audience, and...last but not least, and remember I am a gc owner too, so this isn't fanboy bias...but the GC IS a kiddy system. And that's that. While i'm sure that's not one of the prime reasons it isn't being developed for it, it certainly is a factor. And I definitely feel bad for people who own GC who may not be playing MKD (they still didn't make definite confirmation that its not coming out), because its not really fair, but Midway has not done well on the cube, so they're making an economical decision. And frankly, if it means that much to you, then get a job and buy a PS2. PS2 is what...$99 now? In a normal part time job, $99 isn't even 3 or 4 day's pay...you'll have more than enough after your first paycheck. As for those not old enough to get a job yet, well...I could say something else but then I'd be inviting lots of flames.

I own a GameCube and I think it is a fun little system. I recently purchased an X-box and have been having a blast playing games online. My decision to get a box was there was nothing to play on the cube. The PS 2 and Xbox are both getting games that I want, MK D, Manhunt, SNK vs Capcom Chaos and I just couldn't stand it. You can't take MK away from me....or Street Fighter ...I just won't allow it. lol.

I am a big nintendo fan and it really sucks that MK:D isn't going to on the system. But I can say that nintendo has not been producing the solid titles like they have been in the past. They seem to be more concerned the handheld market instead of the Gamecube.

Well i am stilling waiting on the MKD Dission..but i must note that of all the games i have on my gamecube i only have one kiddy game..and i own 12 games all of which i find very easy to play. for people to say the controler sucks..thats a matter of opinion..for people to say gamecube sucks is also a matter of opinion..I have played all 3 versions of mkDA and in all truthfullness i have noticed the graphics on the ps2 weren't all there and the glitchs on the xbox were just really annoying..gamecube in my opion made the best version of the game..second i didn't buy a xbox or a ps2 for the very fact i have a computer and can download any of those games on those systems on here ... where i have noticed it is rather diffcult to find any gamecube games online..i am very proud of my nintendo because of that very high security act and as of right now i am still waiting to find out about mkd on the cube..the way it sounds it is likely to come out but at a later time..

OK I own a Xbox, so I will be getting MKD on that. And due to the fact that Ninja Gaiden will be the next game I am purchasing and I am a broke homie I won't be buying games for gamecube until the summer. Gamecube is not a kiddy system. I own two games for it, Resident Evil and DBZ Budikai... I will buy RE Zero when I get the money, and RE4... which looks like its going to own. I am not heart broken about MKD not going on Gamecube, but I don't think GC deserves the bashing people are giving it... I'll also buy SSBMelee when I get some moola and MGS:Twin Snakes... later
