indeed I never touched the gamecube, but I wanna voice my support in that this game needs to be on the gamecube, why it is not on gamecube baffles me beyond belief.

Like I said, might as well skip the online if the cube doesnt support it....but still

Maybe its hard because the game itself is an online player, and they dont want to modify the game so that it looks like another game (doubling their work on the cube)

Returning from my many hours of slumber to my FAVORITE little thread, I have a few statements.

For one, I saw someone said Gamecube is a pain to make games for. Its not. In fact, its the easiest system to make games for. Nintendo 64 WAS A PAIN to make games for, so Nintendo specifically designed the Gamecube system to be the easiest to make a game on. Why? Because Playsation 1 was getting all the good game titles, and the developer's excuse was "N64 is too hard to develop for."

Well, obviously, that wasn't really it for the developers. In all truth, I believe developers really don't want to make games for gamecube simply because they really don't like the system. That's that, I think.

Secondly, I prefer the Gamecube Wavebird controller over any one I've met yet. Playstation's controller, however, is good for 1st person shooters. I've never been comfortable holding any controller ever produced for the XBox, and frankly my favorite controller was for N64. The shape of it I mean, with the fins and stuff. But uhh ... anywho ... yeah.

Gamecube's not a kiddy system. Gamecube is a system who's MAKER, Nintendo, has and always will be focused on "everyone" oriented games. You won't see Nintendo developing a shoot the shit out of all the ho's you can game because its not the legacy of Nintendo. HOWEVER, more teenaged games like Halo, Onimusha, all of these things would be welcomed if developers WANTED to put them on the Cube, and they simply don't.

And everyone seems to be under the impression that Mortal Kombat did "poorly" on the Cube. It did not. I sold a pretty nice damn number of units. Sure, they weren't in the freaking multi-millions, but if Midway is hurting as much as everyone acts like they are, then they should be SURPRISED Mortal Kombat DA sold a million on any system AT ALL, especcially after the dissappointment of MK4. Anyway you slice it, Gamecube's sells were extremely decent, and Midway's ass, I believe, was SAVED by the combined turnout of Mortal Kombat DA on every system more than they could have possibly every dreamed.

Keeping MKD from Gamecube is not only stupid, but its cocky and ungrateful for a company that's finacially dying. They need all the help they can get, not to alienate entire fanbases because a system didn't break half a million units for a franchise and a company that should have been HAPPPY to get that at all.

Again, I think the reason why its not being made for gamecube is because they would have to take out the online function, its really Nintendos fault, why are they so stuborn about online play?

Gamecube sucks its proven and one more half year and there wont be any third party games left for GC. Even if MK:D woud come for GC it would be unplayabel with this shittin GC Controller.
Die Nintendo!

I had bought a GC myself but after I recognized how much it sucks I have sold it. And you should either as long as you get some bucks for it.

there has been some good points raised about why MK:D ISN'T coming to GameCube. well, i believe Midway are playing safe with MK:Deception, along with many of their titles. in truth, there isn't as many gamecubes in homes as xboxes and playstation 2s. Midway cancelled the GameCube version of MK:D because the gamecube version of MK:DA was the weakest selling, and that Boon and Co could focus more on the game without worring about converting it to another platform.

it's sad, yes, but that's life kids. i want MK Deception on GameCube (not that i own one, but i want the game to reach as many people as possible), but it might not happen. there's still a chance. maybe it will come out after its Xbox and PS2 counterparts. who knows. let's just hope that Midway realised their mistake.

P.S. one final thing, about putting MK:D online on gamecube. it isnt that hard. Midway can do the same thing they're doing for the PS2 title. get it hosted by GameSpy, if it works the same. some one said that another reason why MK:D isnt coming to gamecube is because of downloadable content. WHEN DID MIDWAY SAY THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE ANY?! it's a great idea, i can't deny that. but it hasn't been mentioned. so that isn't a factor.

that's all for now

I think the Gamecube sucks because I used to have one and I did not like the controler that came with it. that is why I got an XboX because it is the best.

And why would they put a very boodly game on a childs little playing cube. its not right to do that. Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance should have never been published onto the Gamecube Platform.

A word to the wise: Don't play multi-platform games on the Cube. The controler layout on the Cube is awkward, and since all multi-platform games are designed with the PS2 button layout in mind, when it is but on the Cube it feels forced and clunky. Play Gamecube exclusive titles; they are designed specificlly with the Cube button layout in mind and end up working wonderously.

When you see it that way, the Cube's button layout is not awkward, it is Brilliant.

Don't agree with all the name calling because, you don't get the game for the Gamecube. I have never been a fan boy for any system. I buy all of them from the start so I can avoid the fights of Mine is better NO NO mine is better. CRAP. I love my Gamecube,PS2,X-BOX. I will buy the game on both the ps2 and the box. If MKD was released on the Cube I would pick it up quick as snot. Mk did not have great sale numbers on the cube. and it was really hard for the MK staff to make a good game for all three systems. Last time they ran out of time and we did not get a finished true MK. I think it is logic that made them say lets make the game for only two systems this time. We will get a better version of MK this time. If you have a love for MK at all don't fight about it just go buy another system. After the price drops every one should pick up another one with ease. Theroy 1

Nintendo whouldn't really want MK this time around. ^^; It's shapeing up to be 5x more volinent than DA (A very good thing) maybe they just are afried of the confict it'll cause.

Theroy 2

May Midway dosen't have the time/money to make one for the cube.

Theroy 3

sense the Xbox/PS2 sold probley 3 times more than on the cube they just figure. "heck why make a cube version?"

NooBTheroy 4

It SuXsSsSsS HaRdEzZzZz.

Theroy 5

There waiting for the right time to annconce it and it will be on the cube.

I'm not quite sure, but I think it is probably because MK:DA did not meet their expectations on GC. However, Midway CONFIRMED that there will be no MKD on GBA, and still haven't said anything about it being on GC(nor confirmed it will, nor confirmed it wont); however sites like IGN say Midway "cancelled" the project on GameCube.

I think the problem is not an "online" problem, and that's why it leads me to think it could be 1 of these 3 thinks:
1- MKDA did not meet their expectations on sales so decided to save money by not making MKD for GC.
2- Both Sony and Microsoft bought exclusives, one paid more than the other which could also explain why GameFAQS has the release of the PS2 sooner than the release of XBox.(I don't think this one is actually true...but hey, could be)
3- Midway just wanted to save money by not making the game for the GameCube; or the MK Team decided to make the game on less platforms, so the result could be more polished, and as they said; they could take full advantage of the full capabilities of the two systems they were going to release it for. After a discussion on which systems was the game going to appear on; PS2 was probably a sure-one as MKDA sold the more quantity of copies on that system. Between XBox and Gamecube, for some reason, they decided to make it on XBox instead of GameCube.

This is all speculation, but I think it had to be one of those 3 reasons(or a mix of them).

It's funny how DusterLoader never mentioned GameCube's awkward fighting control, lack of hard drive, and that it's in last place in the console wars. It's true that GC has online play, but it IS ONLY the PSO series. And it's also true Midway is having financial problems. But it's online program is about as developed as Sega Saturn's Net Link and Sega Channel. I have all three systems and I can compare so don't have a period on why the GC isn't getting MK6 until you see the "war" on all three front.Xbox has the most solid online plan fallowed by PS2.

P.S.The fact that MKDA sold the worst on the GC doesn't help them either.

WRONG! Gamecube rocks, just because you guys have other systems, doesnt mean you should be all buyest against it. And btw most people who have gamecube dont give a sh** about mario, Plus the controller isnt bad for fighting games ti works just fine so quit being bueyest against the gamecube cuz its in 2nd place next to Xbox

Uhm, the list in the console wars goes like this.
1)PS2
2)Xbox
3)Gamecube

I'm not buyest if I have all three of them. I'm just stating what I've read in magazines such as Game Informer, EGM, GamePro and websiter like 1UP.

Im a GC owner and will get a PS2 for MKD because Im a MK fan first and console fan 2nd but thats the very thing that pisses me off-- anyone who is forced to buy a new system for 1 game would be pissed off. I mean why should I buy a PS2 when Im perfectly content with my GC games, this is beyond me.

MKD isn't on GC because GC games don't sell. Every game that's been released on all 3 platforms that wasn't made by Sega has sold the poorest on the Gamecube.

Good games or not, the GC is not a profitable console for third party devs, and everybody knows it. That's why games are getting pulled left and right.

Midway already got burned last year on the MK:DA gc sales, they're certainly not about to task the risk again.

Don't know why, but Soul Calibur 2 sold best for Gamecube :p.
