Many won't admit it, but a lot of people pick their favorites ninjas based of their color, at least at face value. Then I guess they develop a liking toward the character's story or gameplay as time passes.

But what if we threw out the entire color code, and all the ninjas were clad in a different color. Would you be pissed? I mean, appearances shouldn't be weighed that heavily, right. It's the gameplay that matters, of course.

Well I've always thought that was bullshit. People whine about gameplay, but the game's magic is held through the story and and the characters. I would be extremely disappointed if I ever played a new MK only to discover Subzero was no longer blue. Keep in mind, I don't think they'd ever pull a stunt like this, but I'm just curious of what your reactions would be.

I'd be pissed! lol I think you already have your answer if you look at what's happeend with the Jade/Tanya issue in MKD. The colours are part of each characters trademark and to give them to someone else or remove them completely from that character is like a diminishing blow tothat character and the person who uses them. It's something you just don't do! As I've said before, never mess with a trademark. The colours are identifying markers, they shouldn't change.

Boon knows this, and he knows how fans react to the colors. This is why Ermac is being brought back as RED. Another reason why I don't think he would do such a thing as to give Tanya a green jade-like outfit. It wouldn't make logical sense given his trend in staying true to other character's colors.

Unless he wanted to put Tanya in green on purpose, to confuse the fans and get them excited.

Yep I would be pissed. Like the Jade thing. It just makes no sense to put Tanya in a green outfit. It would be like putting Scorpion in a light blue outfit.

Some of them could be forgotten and it wouldn't make much of a difference to me, like Ermac, Rain and Noob Saibot. But Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile are distinctive because of their colour schemes, as are Jade, Kitana, and Mileena to a lesser extent.

Yes I would definetly be disappointed and angry at Boon if the ninjas lost thier trademark colors. Thier colors go like cereal and milk, a handkerchief to a sneeze. Thier color scheme is essential.

the female ninjas apart from the tanya/jade issue are ok so far, but I'd be gutted if I saw any male ninjas changing colours, they're as important to each character as their specials and story.

I don't know if many people would like a colour change in the majority of characters.

Subzero & Scorpion should always stay their colours. It would be hard to accept a colour change for either of them.

I don't think Reptile's traditional green would matter anymore now that he has turned into a full on reptilian creature and he has scaly green skin.

I couldn't care less if Rain changed colour! I don't think he's been a major character anyhow and his appearance wouldn't bother me if it changed in any form, shape or colour.

I'd be a bit annoyed if Ermac changed from red to anything else. But I think I could accept it.

Noob should stay dark grey / black! It's just him

Smoke I wouldn't like to change from having his grey colour costume. Even if he does have see through/invisible skin, his costume should stay grey.

Cyrax & Sektor should never change colour. That would annoy me a fair bit.

As for all the female ninja's I wouldn't like any of them to change either, but in particular Jade. She always has to be green. What good is her name if it can't be lame and be her with her jade colour costume!

LoL, i know its not much of a change, but I dont like scorpion as gold. I want him back to yellow. To me, gold looks dull.

Yea Noob has dark skin in one costume and white skin in another. That's just poor choice and design right there. The characters need to stay coherent throughout the games.

Ermac dressing a green oufit?
Sub-Zero dressing a red outfit?
Scorpion dresssing a violet outfit?
Kitana dressing a golden outfit?

I don't see so that it couldn't happen, overall the alternative costume, since this it must haven't nothing to do with the original costume.

Like or not, this can happen, and Tanya dressing a green outfit in her alternate costume.

Hell yeah, I'll be so pissed. You can't change a character's trademark colors. It's like changing the color of ketchup to the color of mustard.

I wouldn't really mind. The thing is that we are too used to see Scorpion in black and yellow outfit or Subzero wearing blue for example. I personnally dislike the color yellow but Scorpion is one of my favorite character.

I would be angry if anyone ninja(male and female) lost their trademark color. I think it goes againts all logic to give another person that color when that character is known and reconizged with whatever colors he or she has.

I know I will be pissed if Tanya turns out to be wearing that green outfit that I hope is Jade. Tanya is yellow and Jade is green, and I don't see why Midway finds that so hard to grasp and would change it up.

Tanya isn't a ninja (well, Kitana & Mileena & Jade never really are ninjas) and dressing the green costume in her ALTERNATE costume. Kitana dressing a PURPLE costume in her ALTERNATE costume in MKDA.

I don't think I'll be piss, I think I rather be confused when playing with characters in different colors! for example if Sub-zero changes to Red, I'll be thinking that I am playing as Ermac.

I'll admitt that i first liked Ermac over Rain in MK:T just because he was red and Rain was purple/pink, but after using Rain a lot i was amazed at how much better he was than Ermac. Now i like Rain better in MK:T, but not for his color.
So i guess im tryin to say that i dont know if i would be pissed or not.

I think Heinz did that once - they made green and purple ketchup... confused Personally, I think there are other things that could be changed about a character that would piss me off more than having their colors changed - for instance, omitting certain trademark special moves (i.e. Scorpion w/o his spear, Sub-Z without ice blast, etc..) or a drastic changed in that character's story (Baraka joining the OIA). I would probably mind the colors being changed, but not so much as to prevent me from playing MK.

I'd be upset about changing color schemes, unless it's like Mileena where she changed from purple to pink. The reason I think that's ok, is because there is no female ninja that sports pink, so its an ok for Mileena to wear it. Now Scorpion's yellow to gold I don't mind either because the two colors are similar. I think it would be kinda cool to see Smoke in a silver and black color scheme, just as a change.
