I guess I thought wrong. I don't hate Baraka, but Kung Lao is ten thousand times cooler. Hell, Cage is cooler, but I know that's my minority opinion.

JF likely = Just Frames

Moves that must be executed during very specific animation frames.

In this game that likely refers to the the extra attacks during special attacks

It's a nice roster, but wow, WTF? Only 4 females? That's BS. Maybe the team didn't notice -- but it's really screwed up.

Im pretty happy that. Shao Kahn & Darkseid are going to be in this game as the two bosses in the game. Quite surprised about. Baraka & Lex is going to be in this.

I can understand why some of you are bitching about the female cast. But serious...get over it. MK1 had one. MK2 had two. MK3 had three. MK4 had two and so on. This should be a surprise to you. At least you get 4.

As for the final roster, I am stoked. A bit saddened that cage didn't make it, but it's no big deal.

So...... does this mean the final boss isn't revealed yet since it's a "mash up"?

Obviously Kahn and Dark Seid are seperate playables. So who is the boss? and sub boss?

Baraka being in= I'm getting this game FOR SURE.

I do agree that there should be more females but...it does feel awkward that Baraka is in but Milenna isn't....

The roster is fine except for:

Jax- Don't mind he's in now that Baraka is in but...space could have gone to someone else

Kano- Same as Jax

And the roster seems so 'politically correct.' The only way it's more PC is if Green Lantern had been John Stewart and not Hal Jordan.

please, please stop complaining about Jax being in the game. you haven't seen how he plays yet. damn. the whole damn roster is good. just be glad that your fav character is in because some people fav is not.

I think for those "more females" people, Mileena and Hawkgirl added would have been perfect, but I think the counterparts would be rearranged into this instead if happened:

Sonya = Hawkgirl
Mileena = Catwoman

Anyways, yes, even I'm a bit disappointing at the roster a bit.
Jax is semi-tolerable to have in but Baraka and Kano just...made frown at the fact that Kung Lao, Reptile, and/or Cage were more worthy of the final spots.

Also, since I was bored, I made a list of counterparts that may make sense, somewhat with the official roster announced and all:

Sub Zero = Batman
Kano = Deathstroke
Kitana = Wonderwoman
Sonya = Catwoman
Raiden = Superman
Baraka = Joker
Shang Tsung = Lex Luthor
Shao Kahn = Darkseid
Jax = Green Lantern
Liu Kang = Shazam
Scorpion =/= Flash....

And now, Scorpion and flash are left and they don't even make good counterparts to each other, and they happen to be my fav MK and DC characters of all time.

If only they dropped Kano, Deathstroke would have been great for Scorpion's counterpart and Cage(and all that if Kano was dropped) as Flash's counterpart, and to add to that, replace Baraka with Reptile, and the game will be awesome.

Well, we can only wonder how this game will turn out.

The female character is really not too great. And DC female characters are not as mainstream as the guys thats it!

I CANNOT believe they chose Baraka over guys like Johnny Cage and Kung Lao!!! I almost died when I logged into MKO just now! SERIOUSLY!!! Reading all the posts, I find myself in agreement with Riyakou and Warrior Princess for the most part. I can see WP's point about the lack of female fighters in this franchise, but I would blame that on the fact that only guys seemed interested in video games for a long time. The recent influx of women players is a welcome sight to me; I think because of their interest in gaming, we might start to see more of a shift toward gender equality in-game. It may be a slow shift, but I think it's a SURE shift.

Addressing the finalized roster...

I'm not happy with Jax or Kano. I can't help but agree with Riyakou in saying that I feel he may be there just to satisfy minority concerns. Granted, I'm for that in a way, but I really never considered him a great character to begin with. I really can't say much about him without going into assumptions about how he's going to play in-game, and I don't want to go doing that before the game is in my hands. But seriously...I'm not quite fond of him being on the roster.

Kano, now...sure, he's been around since MK1, I give him that. He does deserve some sort of "iconic" status, but I think if you were to poll the general MK fan base, they would give Johnny Cage priority over him. I'm shocked Cage isn't mentioned in the roster; if they are indeed sticking to the MK2-MK3 timeframe, I guess they'll justify his absence with the whole "killed by extermination squad" angle. Kano's rivalry with Sonya was always a big storyline in the MK franchise, but as a character himself, I never thought him too special.

With Kahn in the roster, I'm scratching my head. I thought he would be half of the morphed boss character...............I guess he still COULD be, I mean hell, Shinnok was a playable boss character in MK4; I'm sure he could very well factor into the morphed boss idea still. However, his inclusion into the roster is going to diminish that idea in a lot of minds. IF for some reason he isn't...I have to wonder who from MK would take that spot.

Lex Luthor...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! DON'T BE SO DROLL!!!! I'm in agreement with the majority of people who have posted; he is a bit of a waste in roster space. Still, though, I'm trying not to make assumptions before the game even comes out...yet I can't help but be somewhat skeptical.

And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time...no, wait! I just want to add that I'm not against Baraka being in the game by any means; I just wish they'd trade in Kano and Jax to make some extra room. I know fully that we all can't be satisfied...at this point, I'd say there's nothing we can do. If you excuse me, I'm going to go take a few shots from the Six Demon Bag and say some prayers for downloadable characters/content.

I knew this thread would be 80 percent bitching... Get over it. I got all whiny when I found out Shang Tsung wasn't in MK4, for about an hour than figured fuck it, it's gonna happen if you're favorite character isn't Scorpion or Sub-Zero. I can't wait to see Baraka's render.

And Vash! Toon Link was needed! Who wouldn't want a faster version of Link? He's amazing!

I'm happy with the final roster. LOL @ Lex but i'm curious to see how he plays. I'm actually more excited there are less girls in this game. It's a brutal tournament to the death and always has been...Not to sound sexist but why would girls with huge tits that look like their 19 years old be fighting in one of those brutal tournaments. I don't give a shit what their storyline is. Save the girls for Soul Calibur, but Mortal Kombat just doesn't need them. It's not like it's essential to make this game better.

Really excited about Baraka.
